It’s pretty bad when you go see your primary to obtain a referral that you need from your hormone doctor, only to be talked to like a child or someone that isn’t taking their health seriously enough?? If that was the case why am I paying out of pocket to balance my hormones and being proactive for my own health. Tricare does not cover any HRT and the medical docs are well aware of this. Further we have been here for over 4 years yet the new dr claims she can’t find any annual physicals… why am I not surprised? Yet I had to help her med tech on his computer find my current meds (he just didn’t read the sheet given him??) and I could see my records? What is wrong with this place?? Also asked why by the med tech I am seeing my hormone doctor? It’s called menopause… I also answered the questionnaire they have you fill out and NOT once did they ask about the depression I circled? Seriously ?? Depression due to hormones but yet all they cared about was getting me in and out and I even asked for a mammogram and that was ignored… so who is really advocating for my health here?? I gave this clinic some slack since we moved here during covid but this was the last straw. Also teach your med techs to wash their damn hands! His fingernails were disgusting and full of dirt! I will gladly be switching to tricare standard, as is I already pay for all my medical appts with my hormone docs… this hands down has got to be the worst place to date!!

A poorly run medical group and hospital. Didn't think I'd be going backwards in time arriving here. Instead of having check in at electronic terminals or even at the major departments, which is modern and proper, they make EVERYONE for EVERYTHING stand in line for 20+ minutes at the single check in desk. This means you have to wait for everyone else's unrelated issues to be resolved. And when they're down to one person, whenever that person steps away, everything grinds to a full halt on behalf of every single department. They desperately and immediately need to turn the front desk into a simple info desk and restore check in at the individual departments with proper staffing. Unsat.

The worst dependent medical care I have seen in my 21 years in the Air Force. Wait times of over a month for basic appointments, (even over the phone appointments) and doctors straight out of med school who give incorrect diagnosis and wrong off base referrals to places that don’t even provide the type of care requested/needed.
Update- it keeps getting better-I recently found out my wife’s primary care “doctor” is not even an actual doctor, only a PA ( physician’s assistant) ?♂️

I was disappointed with the service they provided due given to retiree. I’ve always been impressed with them in the pass but today I needed to call for a new refill I gotten for my seizure disorder and always called for it ahead of time so I don’t run out. I retired in 2005 and still have my old ID and doesn’t expire until 2025. I usually get an appointment within a day or two and get to speak with a RN and get my refills within two days.

Called to make an appointment. Appointment line tried to talk me out of making an appointment. Told me to just go to any urgent care if I needed to be seen. Are we not supposed to use the base hospital? Isn’t that what it’s for? Is it too inconvenient to just tell me when I can be seen? You shouldn’t have to bully them to get an appointment!

Will have you waiting on the phone for 15-30 minutes (sometime longer) even though you’re the only one in queue. I’ve tried calling all week and no one is picking up the phones.

I was born on Sandia/Kirkland AFB IN 1958. My father was a M.D., Captain in the Reg. Army. He always said he was an Army doctor at a Navy hospital on an Air Force base. I don't believe this is the same clinic/hospital, it probably no longer exists.Anyone have similar experience?

The automated refill system said i could pick up my meds on the 13th. When i arrived the pharmacy was closed. Now no meds and I'll be out of state for a month. There's NO excuse for this. You can do better.

It's very geared towards the military and takes amazing care of the troops. The pharmacy does take forever even if no one is there but given you can get anything from allergy medicine to ibuprofen along with prescription medication it's understandable.

Communication? Knowing processes and procedures? NOT HERE. I've spoken to approximately 8 different people from appointment lines, to nurses to doctor and no one knows what the hell is going on. I've been misscheduled which can be crucial. I have tried to talk about symptoms and basically told it was all in my head. Pretty much anytime I opened my mouth the first 2 years I was immediately shut down. So I just stopped coming here. I've recently had to return for pcs reasons and it's been such a nightmare. Don't go here unless all other options are used and it's a last resort. Everything you say and do will be used against you and doctors will pressure you.

Even if you have an appointment that I personally set up on the counter, they can screw it up. They said they confirmed another date but as with no email or phone number. But they're happy to reschedule you, which of course just takes your time, or they'll send ER for a normal check-up. I'm sure the ER will be impressed when you come in for an check up.
