I wish I could put zero stars. They sold me a roach infested car with buttons that did not work. I couldn't even open the gas door to put gas in it. Customer service was horrible. I had to request to speak to a supervisor since one never came out to talk to me after learning about the situation. They cashed my check the day after finding out about my issues with the car. The process of getting my money returned was excruciating. I had to place multiple calls to the business office to work through a lot of misinformation. They told me it would be returned by a certain date, which didn't happen until the end of the following week. They had the nerve to suggest I finance with them for a new vehicle while waiting for my money to get returned. I am beyond disgusted with the company.

I was helped by two gentlemen, one was a trainer and one was the trainee. I think one of them was named Cody. Both were very helpful, kind, and welcoming. I was able to get very clear explanation of the process and what was happening and how all this works with the DMV, etc because of the training. It was interesting to learn about the different states and laws. They apologized for taking longer than normal with the training, and I appreciate them recognizing it, but waiting is much more manageable when the representatives communicate and let you know what to expect - which they both did from beginning to end. Very good job. I have never been to CarMax or any company like it before, but I will definitely come back when I want to buy.

If I could give this no stars I would. I purchased a car through this Wayne, NJ location on 10/28/2023. I had it shipped from Florida to Wayne. Later that night, I discovered that the car was infested with roaches. I immediately reached out to customer service but being that it was the weekend I did not receive any type of answer. I did call Monday morning & advised Carmax of the issue. I later was told that the check was cashed on Tuesday(the day AFTER they knew about the issue). Car Max of Wayne had me bring in the car on Thursday which I sat there all day. They treated the car but to no avail, it was still infested. I originally planned on getting a different car being that this car I purchased was beyond repair. On top of the car being infested with roaches, a lot of other buttons in the car didn't work down to the gas cap. I would have to pry it open in order to get gas. None of this was mentioned once I was buying the car at all. All of these issues I found on my own. I was never notified that the return process was not started until I called to check on my return. I was told that they needed the car back despite being told that we could keep the car until the new one came in. I was told that they didn't have rentals nor was going to supply me with a rental. I officially brought the car back on Saturday (11/04/2023). I have not received my refund for this defective & roach infested car to date. I have no idea how a company can be ran this way. Car Max is literally holding me up from getting a new car & daily collecting interest on my auto loan. I'm getting the run-around when all I want is my money back from being sold a horrible, defective, roach-infested car. I didn't even have the car a week and this "return" is taking longer than that. Do not buy from them, they do not check their cars whatsoever.

Great experience overall! From getting an appraisal quote online to handing in the title. Was greeted and assisted by Charlie when arrived for my appointment. And although I was a bit late coming in from NY. They were pleasant and helped me right away. The paperwork process was quick and accurate. They stuck to the price quoted online. Overall it was a very good experience and I highly recommend.

It was a very smooth experience selling my car at CarMax. I visited with required documents at the time of appointment. My car’s condition was verified and a final offer was given which I couldn’t refuse. Within just 1:30 hours of reaching the CarMax location , I sold my car and left with the check. It was a completely hassle free process.

If you're looking to sell your car and prefer to pass on a plethora of tire kicking strangers bombarding you with low ball offers, give Carmax a try. The market for used cars varies a lot, month to month, week to week and even day to day. Right now the best offers are coming from them. Process is fairly straightforward. Worth noting is that they don't have flatbed pick up in this area. You'll need to drive the car to them. The price they quoted online was what they paid. I recommend shopping your car to a few sources and going with who gives you the best offer but right now, chances are that offer will come from Carmax.

I would like to thank Anthony V., Customer Service Specialist at Wayne, NJ CarMax, for his excellent service. I was very nervous about selling my car, but he made the entire experience great. He was knowledgeable, friendly, handled all necessary paperwork etc seamlessly. Anthony was even kind enough to order my ride from the Uber App on my phone, as I was unsure how to proceed with this. Thank you again to Anthony for making every thing go well for me. He is an asset at CarMax.

The appraisal process was super easy. I started it online the night before I went. My lease was almost finished so I was looking to get rid of my vehicle so I could get a new lease. When I got to the location, the check in process was super quick and there were plenty of people ready to jump in and help. The representative Frank walked over within a few minutes after I checked in. Frank made the rest of the process super easy and convenient. He made sure to explain the process and policies in full detail. You could tell this gentleman was a perfect customer service representative because he was so friendly and took the time to get to know me during the process. By the end, I ended up receiving $1,000 more than what I was quoted online which was amazing to walk out with check in my hands. Overall, I would definitely do business again with CarMax of Wayne

Best car shopping experience ever! I traded a car in and walked out with a new one the same day! No gimmicks whatsoever. I had the pleasure of working with Ashley W. at CarMax of Wayne. She was so patient and knowledgeable. Ashley answered any and all questions I had. On top of her excellent customer service (which I rave to anyone who will listen) she wasn’t one of those pushy sales folks who pressure you to purchase a vehicle. It was such a stress free experience. Will definitely recommend Ashley W. and CarMax of Wayne to everyone I know!

Overall superb and exceeding expectations.Well organized appointments, professional trained staff, appraisal value was fair, inspection was quick, no pressure to make me sell the car, no questions asked and no fine prints or hidden charges when I came back to sell the car the full promised price was honored in a quick and simple process.Please keep the same high bar in transparency and professionalism. When I think of 'bjying' a used car next time, I will certainly start by CarMax :)

Great experience buying a car! Everyone is very helpful and friendly. They don't work on commissions so no pressure and are very helpful with finding you a car. I purchased through their webpage and picked up my car at the Wayne location. Would definitely do it again.

I had seen commercials for Carmax before but never actually been to one of their stores. I filled out the sheet outlining the car I was offering for sale and got an immediate quote. I set up an appointment and arrived a little early. I was impressed with their store/operation. Everyone was professional and respectful. The store itself was very clean and appealing. I received the full amount of the quote and given a check on the spot. I had already made plans to purchase a car somewhere else, but the car lot was full of late model good looking vehicles. I will keep them in mind when purchasing another vehicle!

From the moment I went online to request a sale quote to walking through the doors at CarMax it was an easy, friendly experience. Frank my sales assistant was kind, funny and very knowledgeable. The entire process took less than an hour when I left with my check in hand. I would highly recommend CarMax for anyone who is looking to sell their vehicle.

Filled out the online forms. Got an estimate. Made an appointment. Go to place. Get true appraisal. Matches estimate. Do the fancy computer work. Done. Our person, Leah, was amazing. She knows everything about everything and then the manager stopped by after to confirm.This is how we will shop for cars from now on.The best part was:“This place is just like the commercials.” - Me“What commercials?” - LeahSorry Sue, Steph and Candace.
