I have found that Joe is the most straight forward honest mechanic I have used in my 40 years of driving. They give estimate up front and have always called if other problems found.Services: Steering & suspension repair

J&R Auto have been on this corner forever. They're honest and they genuinely look out for the customer. They could have charged me a fortune on something I took it in for, but they didn't, it was an error on my part and they pointed it out. From that moment on I was hooked and always take my car there. I so appreciate honest car repair. So many in town take their car to them, it doesn't surprise me, they have a great reputation. Another review here complained about body work, but they don't do body work, they only do mechanical repair.

Came in for the first time here for a custom alignment. They went above and beyond normal service effort to achieve the result I was looking for. Thank you!

Great guys, had an old car with the battery dying constantly for no apparent reason. They took the time to fix the problem for a more than reasonable rate. Car has been running great for weeks now.

Beware Ladies, you're gonna get hosed!

Beware Ladies, you're gonna get hosed! These schiesters gave a verbal estimate of $400 to fix a brake line. We then asked to check other lines as well. They said replacing all 4 would be costly. 8 days later, they just received parts at noon and were just putting it on lift. Car was ready less than 5 hours later at 4:45. No hourly labor charge on invoice or time spent, just $450. Showed up with $400 and told total was $849! No calls or authorization to double the bill! Work order is very sketchy with schematics showing 1 hose ordered and a line item of repairing a line for $46. No parts returned, just red marks on 2 pics of the same schematic showing 1 part for 1 wheel. Several family's have used these crooks and will never again. If you want to get hosed, take er down to J & R auto in Waldwick NJ.

Joey is great! He and Rick have been taking care of my cars off of warranty since I first met them in 1992. My 1984 Saab Turbo oil pressure light came on. I dropped it off to them since they were near my office. When I called them after work, they said it was all done. I thought I needed a new oil pump but he changed the oil pressure sensor and charged me $10 (1992 prices). Ever since then, they have never steered me wrong. If he can't do it, he'll tell you but he's been able to do 99% of whatever needs done. BTW he can get tires cheaper than thru the Tire Rack!

Joe K is one badd a** mechanic. When one mechanic told me my car was a goner, J and R told me otherwise. They fixed the car and she runs better than she has in years. Definitely plan to use them and recommend them often.

This is a real review by a customer that had body work done on a 2009 Honda Accord Coupe in January 2012. The work that was done on our car was the WORST work I have ever seen in my life. The damage to our car was from a small collision that banged up the front end. The new (aftermarket) hood they put on not only doesn't fit, with big gaps on each side, but is also way to high above the fenders! The rubber gasket that goes under the front of the hood hangs out about 1/4 to 1/2 inch .... it is not supposed to be visible at all. The paint was only quickly sprayed on once on the underside of the hood and looks like it was done with a can of rustoleum. We had another area above the drivers side window repaired. It was dented from a tree branch that came down in our driveway during the weird October snow storm. The repair was HORRIBLE to the point that there are paint drips all along the edge of the repair. Also there was overspray paint on the window. We took the car to a Honda dealer and they literally laughed their heads off when they saw the work. They told us we couldn't sell or trade this car if we wanted to because of this terrible work. They also neglected to repair the headlamps which were scratched, and if you can believe this ... we had them do an oil change and they never even reset the oil level light. We are not the type to complain if there is a little issue, but they have destroyed our vehicle and rendered it valueless!!!!! Not to mention it took them over 2 weeks to do this terrible work. Our insurance company is USAA and we now have to take it to another auto body shop and have ALL the work redone. In 49 years I have never seen such poor quality work from an auto body shop. You would be a fool to use these guys.
