At ESA Ramsey, we brought friends and family, a total of 9 people for 3 nights, (2 rooms). Where can I start? Lets start with how the hotel is smoke free. Instantly when I walked in to the lobby and my room I smelled cigarettes. Moving on, we are supposed to be ensured to have the best experience and we are promised that the room is safe, and clean with their saying of "STAYconfident". Well, I WASN'T confident. The room was SO dirty, there are stains everywhere! The sink was clogged, the bed was dirty, dust everywhere! There were no extra handsoap, no bath soap, NOTHING. We had to ask for it all. Did I mention the room phone? Broken. There was a screaming lady arguing with a man, running down the hallway, bumping into doors. They bumped into ours and that woke us up. It was terrifying. I tried to call downstairs (lobby) with the room telephone, but to find out its broken. Needed to use my phone to call the hotel's phone number. The price and pictures do not match the experience we wanted. Especially we brought extra people, very disappointed. I trusted Extended Stay America, but that trust was broken. I could have gotten a better hotel for a less amount. If possible, I would even get a refund! Do not recommend. Thanks for nothing!

Staff is very nice and our room is very clean . It’s only for one evening but the cleanliness is my main concern and they get 4.5 stars there. Remote is a little yucky. Had to wipe that off. Bed is comfortable and they had extra pillows new in bag for us.

This is my second stay here in a few years and I am very pleased with not just the rooms but the staff is excellent. They go out of their way to make sure your stay is as pleasant as possible. I didn’t even need to ask any questions because everything was explained to me upfront and in great detail.

This was my second stay at this extended-stay this month due to moving and needing to return to the area for work. It's still a good option if you come in with the right expectations, with a few provisos.Mainly, if you are expecting a hotel experience this won't be that. It felt more like short-term furnished studios to me, with slightly minimal furniture (a single-person chair rather than a couch for example) and not much in the way of shared amenities: just a laundry room and vending machines but no lobby, pool, or the like I'd expect from a hotel. The place was also slightly understaffed and occasionally the front desk had no one so you had to wait. That said, the rooms were large and comfortable with full-size fridges and a mostly-operational kitchen minus the oven. The staff were very helpful, and the rooms were quiet and clean. Shipt, DoorDash, and the like were available when I was there to accept delivery, though it would have been nice to receive deliveries from Amazon since I was there for several weeks. (This could have possibly been arranged with the front desk.) Other guests and staff were friendly but also gave me the space and privacy I needed to live comfortably. A nice place to call home for a few weeks, with very reasonable prices given how close they are to NYC and the size of the rooms. I'd probably stay there again.

To start, i have been traveling and using ESA for 12 yrs,Front desk is ok, Juan is GREAT! But Gen MGR is rude, to say the least!¡! Half of things in room don't work. Room not cleaned for over 3.5 wks even with requests! Even the paid internet sucks! Small TV. Horrid animals with entire stay.

Front desk very friendly. It's right on Route 17 N, so the traffic is noisy and we had a hard time sleeping. Breakfast is just coffee/tea, individually wrapped mini muffins and instant oatmeal.

This was my worst hotel experience in the last +20 years, perhaps +100 hotel stays. The first thing that meets you in this hotel is a terrible stench - horrible smell of, like, a combination of too much "curry", and wet-dirty-animal"...The first night, my wife could not sleep because of this smell, and we had to change the room which had no carpet on the floor, and had relatively less smell. The room was not properly clean - could see hairs of previous renters. The buttons on the Phone in the room were missing. The electrick connection of the lights next to beds were spotty - when you sit on the bed, lights wer turning off without touching any buttons!! Service was almost non-existent. You call reception, and nobody answers. In order to change towels, to get new-fresh towels, we had to put them in a bag, bring to reception, wait the receptions response for literally 15 minutes - then, another 30 minutes for the fresh ones (at around 10:40 PM) after a tiring day was really something for the first time I have experienced. It was beyond my imagination - in the negative direction. I would not expect any such treatment in Ramsey, NJ, USA. The breakfast was like a joke. I am happy that I will never ever go to that Hotel anymore, and probably to "Extended Stay America" in general.

The stay was great for my and my little Maltese, there were dogs of all sizes and all the guests were nice. I just wish there were more to the breakfast than granola and oatmeal but everything was 10/10! Definitely going backWalkability: It’s located right on the highway, but the property is pretty big, and definitely more than enough walking space for dogs as well.Food & drinks: There’s restaurants all over, chic-fil-a is a 2 minute drive, and one of the best Chinese food spots (New York guest approved!)

Never any employees at front desk. Even when you use the phone to contact them they don’t answer. Multiple times I had to wait over an hour for a room key. Ants will completely take over your room and not to mention you are going to have to check for bedbugs.Rooms: Just not up to any standards that a hotel should be. If I had to rate the room, I would give it a star and a half out of 10.Nearby activities: This hotel is literally on a very busy highwayFood & drinks: They claim they have continental breakfast however, all they do is throw some hot water, some bags of oatmeal and some granola bars on a table. Coffee is always empty. Staff does not make more or replenish any of the food.Noteworthy details: If you have other places to stay I would consider going anywhere, but here you would think because of the area it is located in it would be decent but it’s completely opposite. There were literally overdoses every few weeks and cops constantly coming and going beware of bedbugs that multiple guests report!!!!!! All of the staff besides, the Manager are And you would be lucky if you could find them at any time after the Manager is not there.

The rooms themselves are fine but the management is not customer friendly. If you need to extend your stay they will treat you like a new guest with no break on rates. Corporate office has a group called customer relations that has no ability or willingness to work with guests

I reserved room for my visiting parents. once we opened the door we were faced with old smell(had to air the room right away. Next morning we were shocked to look at our feet (they were just black ) Next day we brought it out to front desk attention just to be told that hotel cleans rooms only once in 2 weeks and there is no manager at the moment and front desk has nothing to do with dirty room( at the moment of check in).So we when to Home Depot and bought Bucket and Broom. Once again we checked with front desk and they were told that front desk has no responsibility over that nonsense. Are you guys serious?!?!?

Update 6/29 ‐ Still no AC after reporting it 5 days ago. Not worth the stay. I will NOT be returning for my extended stay in the area nor will anyone with Key Construction while we are here for the next 6 months...Update 6/28 - Internet restored. No cleaning is still 11 days into my stay. AC is set on 66, but the room remains 74 or higher. Let's see, with the 80 creeping in today if they finally get to it. I am getting more disappointed now that I have talked to others staying here, too. Reviews are all on the exact same page of complaints. Management has responded with a very "copy/paste" response. Seems like nothing has been improved, at least, since 2021...Update 6/27 - still no AC, temp steady in room at 75 with fan running and windows cracked as far as they allow. Internet is still out.Update 6/26 - HVAC has stopped working. Maintenance will not be onsite for a couple of days. On the bright side, the weather is good enough to do without a couple of days. Surprised, they didn't offer a switch off the bat,Took a large lightening strike close to the building, internet out going on 24 hours, again on the bright side, I travel with a backup source.Update - Good looking place, clean rooms and helpful staff. Front lobby was a bit dirty, but again, . did arrive after 11pm. You must request items for the kitchen, lots of items to stock up while you stay.Day 7 - attempted to trade dirty towels with the staff in the hallway. The lady looked at me, I asked about the towels, and she just turned and walked away.Room 201 - Found the double lamp next to the bed and had the power switch removed so the lights were inoperable. The dining table has been repaired so many times that it is not stable at all. The shower release is stuck for shower only, and no bath can be taken. The rules state that the cleaning days are printed on the key slip - that is not the case.Saturday breakfast had 2 muffins left and no sugar for the coffee at 8 am.I think it's just the cleaning solution, but the floors were sticky thru the stay. For an extended stay, I may look elsewhere for a stay. Since I'm paying over 100 a night, I feel it should be a bit better.

Don't get a room facing Rt.17 very noisy!! We would have changed rooms but only available was a rugged room. Can't believe this hotel still has the first floor with rugs! Otherwise, okay.Rooms: Get a room awake from road, truck noise a lot.Walkability: I took walks around the hotel daily exercise.Noteworthy details: Morning Coffee/tea usually ready at 6am with muffins (very few blueberry- go early). Rooms without a rug seemed less dusty, air fresher. Sometimes noisy neighbours but Victoria was V- good about changing the room.
