I'm happy to have found Equinox Paramus. The facility is always clean and well maintained. While I wish there were more benches, the wait is usually not too long, there's always something else you can work on while it becomes unoccupied. The trainers are so friendly and there is always 1 or 2 walking around that help re rack weights and are willing to help/answer questions. For the classes, I love Metcon3, especially with Michelle.... Speaking of which I should really book a class (it's been too long). Comparing the quality of the gym, amenities, and lower membership counts to other nearby gyms, this place wins. Cost is a little steep at $200/mo. With single access (and $330-ish/mo.) for multi access with some NYC exclusions. At the cost, I would love to have a pool, but that won't happen within the gym footprint unless the physical/occupational therapy space left the space? You may be wondering if commitments - equinox does not do initial month to month. You need to commit to 12 months and then it goes month to month thereafter.

Overall, gym is ok. Bathrooms are impeccable and clean workout areas. But, is missing workout equipment for torso, abs and back. Some machines out of service... not impressed. But hopefully they improve this location. I love most of the equinox in NYC locations.

The Equinox location here is fantastic. It's always clean and spacious enough for people to exercise without feeling crowded. The clientele is excellent, and everyone is courteous.

This place is not worth the money.. Always 3 yelling bald guys in the steam room. Who wants to to hear others yelling in a steam room. I’d rather have RAP blasting….

Great facility, even better staff. Specifically, I'd like to shout out my experience with Chris and Michelle from the personal training department. They really helped me appreciate the value of getting in a routine and starting that process off with a training package that when broken down per session is very reasonable. I've only signed up for what I can afford initially but it's already proving worth it. Michelle and Chris are super friendly and hard working as is the entire staff I've encountered at this location. I've worked out at a variety of luxury gyms over the last 20 years: LA Sports Club, Equinox, Four Seasons Hotels, Ritz Carlton, etc. - and the experience I've had at Paramus Equinox is really great, particularly because it's small - not very crowded - and of course, has a great team of coaches and administrative personnel who do their job with professionalism and efficiency. I recommend this gym and Chris as you look to hire a trainer. A special thanks to the hard-working cleaning staff who work around the clock.

Poor customer service, unprofessional membership cancellation practices. The manager stopped responding to my emails in connection with me being charged fees after having cancelled the membership.

One of the best Equinox clubs. Spa-like.

Really like this equinox. Clean, not super crowded, very bright on the first floor. Well maintained locker rooms. Good number of squat racks and machines.

Overall a decent gym. Its luxurious and very spacious. I would prefer more free weights and less cardio/studio space but that's my preference. Personally, I don't care much for eucalyptus towels and I don't care much for the showers as I prefer to shower at home. They have 3 racks and tons of treadmills/ellipticals, etc. They have the basics to do a decent workout but they need some extra cable attachments and some additional benches imo. The overall layout of the gym didn't make much sense to me either. The racks are upstairs and the leg extension and hamstring curl machines are downstairs. I think the overall placement of the equipment can use some work.

Since Covid they have really slowed down . There aren’t combs in the mens bathroom anymore but their prices have gone up. The one in summit is better and has a pool. Bring back the combs please!

Really nice and clean gym located on rt. 17 north. My only complaint is the size of the men's showers. Someone told me that the women showers are bigger and even have a bench. The men's showers are so small that it's hard to even turn around. I just wish they were as big as the women's, or just bigger in general. That's the reason why I cannot give the 5th star. Gym is clean. They clean the steam room daily at 12pm which is awesome. Classes are good. Nice flow. This is not one of those gyms were people are slamming dumbbells all over the ground. Go do that at ufc or CrossFit.

First time at an Equinox and was extremely excited to check out a place that I heard so much good things. The facilities was extremely clean and well kept with equipment properly racked and I loved the locker room (especially the Kiehl's products). Staff were very welcoming and willing to help. With that being said with I wasn't all that impressed with the facilities given the monthly price tag and thought it could use a little more upgraded equipment.

I thought that this location would be nicer compared to some bigger cities but I was so wrong.. first off, the staff are so nasty and rude. The managers are so predatory and try to sell you on a membership or package every 5 minutes. The facilities are OK in terms of maintenance but it's a lot smaller than I expected. If you take a class, they can get SO crowded and it's so poorly kept - people are right next to each other and no one respects your space, weights are all over the place, although the instructors have always been nice. Overall, I would say save your money on this ridiculous overpriced gym and either pay for classes at another fitness studio or if you don't need that just join a regular gym that is more reasonably priced. Totally an overkill and way overpriced, not worth it at all IMO especially at this location. Some of the ones I've been to in NYC have been way better.
