Delayed my appointment by over a week then called me the morning of my rescheduled appointment to let me know they don't actually do the service they were going to come do. I'm trying to close on a house, which they were aware of, so it's super time sensitive.

Called on May 17 to make an appointment because our roof was leaking at the chimney, was given the earliest available appointment, which was June 3. Stayed home from work, got a call in the morning that they were running late because of rain the night before. I guess they're not prepared for water falling from the sky periodically--throws off their whole schedule. Who knows, maybe there was some kind of a chimney emergency, like, I don't know, say, a leak? Anyway, they called again at 4:30pm to tell me they were not coming at all. The earliest they could reschedule? June 15. Yeah, sure, I'll reward your lack of professionalism with my business.

Scheduled fireplace insert three times over 6 months. First time canceled due to emergency. Second time canceled same day because did not have the insert (so scheduled work twice without actually having insert)..Today, scheduled for after 2 PM work. No show. No call. No response. If they happen to come, will update review Currently, Flue Tech appears to be just a big joke. Would not trust them to clean my floor, much less fix something that could burn your home down.

Within a week coating peeled off Struggled to get them back recoated Remote start then failed and they came back and fixed it (after several calls) 6 months later remote start mechanism not working again Have given them multiple times for return and they have cancelled x2 and last time didn’t Even show up As a physician used to being exact I’m shocked they are still in business Very disorganized Disappointed can not recommend

I hired FlueTech to repair my discontinued gas log fireplace based on the good reviews here. I had a completely different experience with them, feeling they were either grossly incompetent, or possibly dishonest (in order to sell a more expensive service). I'm not sure which, but either way I give them an F rating for total failure. They said the PILOT LIGHT didn't go on (it did but they didn't bother to put a match to it as the affixed label clearly states to do), that it would be $1500 to repair IF they could find original manufacturer parts, but they couldn't (working parts are readily available on the Internet from other manufacturers). Their only resolve for me was to put in a new insert at a cost of $10,000-$15,000 with permits. I declined. I recounted the above to a manager who waived the bill for the service call and said he'd look in to my complaint and call me back. Never heard from him again, after almost 3 weeks. I then hired MR. CHIMNEY. Mike was knowledgeable, honest and quickly diagnosed my unit and got it working. It was a simple fix, I just needed a new receiver and remote at a cost of $369. Even though my model is older and discontinued he came prepared with all the parts on his truck. I highly recommend using Mr. Chimney and steering clear of FlueTech.

I contacted Flue Tech to fix the pilot-less feature on my gas logs. I did not use them because I was able to find someone nearer to my location.

Flue Tech was great- on time, courteous, professional and got the chimney cleaned efficiently. A little higher priced than some others were offering but worth it, especially as there was no attempted upselling services.

I wouldn't recommend this company unless you enjoy getting the run around. Booked our appointment on November 26th, they charged us half the amount for supplies and scheduled us for December 16th. The techs worked from 10 until 2 and said they had to leave but they'd be back later to install one more part to our chimney., which they left in my living room. They never came back. And they charged my credit card the full quoted price instead of the balance! I spent the following day freezing from the draft coming from my fireplace and calling fluetech repeatedly where I was told they couldn't find the tech who worked on our fireplace. They'd get back to me. 5 hours this went on. Tried to put me off until "later in the week" . Use someplace else!
