I wouldn’t recommend this facility to anyone and feel guilty we had our two kids here as long as we did. What started as a positive experience slowly deteriorated before it became unbearable. There is IMMENSE turnover here from assistants and teachers all the way up through the administration level. We would have one teacher on a Monday, and by midweek, it would be someone new with little to no communication on the change. In one instance, 5 teachers quit overnight with vague answers and excuses when we questioned they why. In the beginning we thought this was par for the course at a daycare during COVID but it’s reflective of serious inherent issues and we wish we had taken some of these red flags more seriously. The school had 3 different directors in less than 6 months, two leaving seemingly overnight without explanation. Our final straw was the negligent care our 1 year old received in the mobile infants class. Regularly picked up in dirty diapers with diaper rash, filthy and constantly sick. When we raised concerns, they were not addressed or taken seriously. Our older son was bounced between classes early and later in the day, often asked by whatever random employee was covering what his name was at drop off. I’d encourage current and prospective parents to review the State of NJ’s DCF site to view the frequent citations and failed reinspections of this facility. The best decision we’ve made was to leave LBA and join a new school community that is light years ahead of this place.

The only good thing at this location is Ms Sam the young infant lead teacher & Ms Gabby other than that this location is a nightmare along with its administration team. After repeatedly expressing my concerns and issues to the schools director, administrator assistants, even the regional manager with the care their young infant assistant teacher Lynn was giving my 8 month old son regardless of how many times I complained about the issues I was having with her and the care she provided all I was told was “they will increase classroom observations” yet nothing was ever addressed . This teacher doesn’t care for the kids in the classroom, she is super rough and should not be allowed to work with little babies let alone be allowed to work with kids in general. Pulling my son out of this location was the best decision I made.

My son has been enrolled since September 2022 and I’m so happy with my decision to send him there. As a first time mom I was anxious about returning to work but the staff at Lightbridge has made me feel so comfortable about dropping him off each day. He’s learning so much and really seems to enjoy going. The teachers at Lightbridge are the best and we couldn’t imagine sending him anywhere else.

I am so happy that my son started going to Lightbridge Academy Matawan location. He loves this place. Their facility is very clean, personnel also very welcoming. Thank you for taking care of our kids while we are at the work.

1st time mom... so there's those nerves now add in a new world post pandemic and just all the craziness in the world right now... soooooo let's just say I'd rather my kid not go anywhere without me, however let's be realistic you have to live life and teach your kid HOW to be in this world, and Lightbridge Academy has helped to put me at ease a little better during this transition period. I'm happy with my choice to send my daughter there this September!!

I love how much all of the teachers and administrators care about all of the children. They have all become like a family to my children, and they can't wait to go there every day. I love how much they love learning since starting at Lightbridge, and how curious and smart they are. My youngest daughter was severely behind children her own age, due to extended hospital stays, however since Lightbridge she is now completely caught up (IN ONLY A YEAR!!). As a working mother it is so hard to leave my children all day but knowing they are with such amazing, caring, and genuine people at Lightbridge really makes it so much easier. And it helps that the teachers consistently loop parents in about all the aspects of their children's days through the app. All of the administrators are the best; especially Amy and Karina, they are so transparent, honest, and genuine. I will always highly recommend Lightbridge it is the best decision that I've made for my children!

I wanted to take the time to share that my daughter and I have had a wonderful experience at this LightBridge. We have been attending since 2021, I am one of those parents that have questions all the time (lol) and I am so grateful at how patient the staff is. The teachers have really taken the time to learn about my child and all her personalities. We have had a great learning experience between the teachers We have had. The school is always clean, there are so many events for the kids but also the parents. Ms Karina the director has been stellar to work with, she is honest and very fair and always knows what to do or say when I have a concern. I would truly recommend this location and we will miss LightBridge when kindergarten starts!

Our little one has been at LBA for just about a year now and our experience has been wonderful! The teachers in the entire infant suite have been incredible and have truly taught him SO much. I get constant pictures and updates throughout the day and the teachers really go above and beyond for these kids: getting to know each and every family, checking on us if he’s out sick, communicating any concerns, nursing his colds and diaper rashes and the list goes on and on and they make it look EASY… Most importantly, I trust them. I would recommend LBA Matawan to anyone looking!

My daughter started at Lightbridge Academy in June. We have had nothing but a pleasant experience so far. My daughter LOVES her teachers. She has also learned SO much. Its as if she comes home with something new every day and she's only 15 months old ! The teachers in her class are so patient and kind and are always there to answer any questions.

This is one of the worst places. They staff besides one or two person are so unprofessional and show how much more the money means than your child’s education or well being. The kids are on camera and they still barely do anything with the kids. It’s a free for all and they nap for hours on end. My daughter is at a new preschool that only naps for 45 mins and they have the whole day planned with activities and crafts and yoga! I used to think my daughter just didn’t like school but she just didn’t like that school. They would let her cry in the corner alone all day and not even try to help her or bring the kids together to play. They would go outside once or twice and do like once activity a day and then just sit there. If you want your child to have any education and care, do not send them here.

I almost brought my son here as he was at the lightbridge in another town, but this one in Matawan was closer to home. I am so glad I didn’t end up transferring him to this one. The director who just came back from maternity leave was entirely unprofessional (i think her name was Karina?) She denied everything we had spoken about on the phone prior to my visit and told me there wasn’t a spot available even though she said i could come in and reserve the spot and start my son in September. In all honesty her and the other women seemed very overwhelmed and understaffed. They were very tired looking and seemed to not care about a parents overall perspective of their facility. I can only imagine how they are behind closed doors. After checking with other daycares in the area a lot of them had said that they heard the same thing from other parents who took their kids out of this location to bring them to their location. Safety was something else that was mentioned as an issue there. DO NOT bring your kids here.
