I used John for nearly 10 years. Not because I liked him all that much, but he was convenient and I thought he was competent, though nothing more. However, every year I said to myself that this will be the last time I use him. His communication skills get a 0. He doesn't answer the phone or respond to messages. You may as well use the USPS to write to him because email doesn't work very well. This year I was in a pinch to get my taxes done quickly. I told him that before I sent my return. After 2 weeks, nothing. He didn't acknowledge receipt of my return (which was sent email) until I contacted him. He finally got back to me after 2 weeks (after leaving messages everywhere) to tell me it would be another week or two. My return is about as simple as they come. Making a long time customer wait for up to a month for a simple return is not good business. I finally fired him. John is a nice guy and I wish him the best. Hopefully, this review will enlighten him about customer service.

Very bad experience with John this year - mid March'19, he asked that I file for an extension to give him more time to file my returns. I agreed and then he went silent till June'19, not responding to my emails, phone calls or texts, only to be told 2 days ago that he is unable to file my returns! Extremely unprofessional of him to do that - i'd rather you tell me upfront that this is beyond your expertise than keep me waiting in limbo. You increase your fees but fall short in customer service delivery... Will never go back.

Anytime I have a complex tax need, John is always available to answer any questions and help resolve it. He is very knowledgeable and has been able to help resolve details related to taxes on investments. He was also able to help fill out international tax forms, which I could have never figured out on my own. His is always courteous and resolves the needs I have quickly. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs tax advice in the Jersey City area!

John is great. He has helped me to save a lot of money on my taxes. He also gives great advice for everything. He helped my husband out with his small business and has helped me transition my finances from different jobs (taxes done differently so he gave me sound advice). I have been going to John for a couple of years now. He is much better than the place I went to in NYC AND he reviewed my previous tax years and helped with those.
