This place is awful. Products are priced wrong, produce is frequently moldy and/or rotten, its almost as if they send all their rotten produce to this store. Meats are too expensive. Courtesy desk is rude.
Its sad because there are a couple of good employees here but the bad ones and the quality ruin it.
Prediction: They will close within 2 years

José Reyes gave me excellent service. Not only in the seafood department, he helped me in other departments with things I needed. He is a very efficient man and I really appreciate his help and attention.

Acme Jersey City 440 has the worst manager. The way he treats the employees and customers is unacceptable. Don’t go shopping to this place. That man seems others like they are nothing for him, disrespectful “manager”

Another update:
Today I purchased apples listed as organic (according to the display) and I checked the code on the apple (3507) and they're not organic. They also had a display advertising kiwis on sale and the sale had ended. The prices are higher than most anywhere else and you frequently get charged more than the price displayed. Prediction: 18 months
7 12 24 Update: 2 years later still overpriced and I'm frequently charged the wrong price. Posted sales are frequently expired. The parking lot is completely lawless. There are some good employees here and quite a few who do not care. Good luck. Prediction: it closes within 3 years
Awful supermarket, lots of moldy produce, mispriced items, parking lot is a wreck, fire zones are loaded with cars INCLUDING police cars who illegally park while they shop and eat. The baked goods taste like no one cares. The florist is nice but otherwise this place is frequented by the dregs of society. Meat looks dyed red, people drive against traffic in 1 way lanes in the parking lot, lots of beggars asking for money outside

supermarket employees are nice & they have everything you need. Bakery also fresh bagels, muffins bread and much more. Very clean and well stocked. Still clean. They are upgrading shelfs, refrigirators and adding more self service. Very clean.

Store and employees are both great overall. There’s a decent variety for all needs/preferences. My favorite section of the store would have to be the home goods products, located in the first few isles -on the same side as the pharmacy. I do wish they had more gluten free frozen food options, especially bread-type foods. My only complaint would have to be is that as someone who lives alone, would be about the way the meat is sold. I’d like the meat section to be priced individually equally, to the “buy multiple meats to receive a reduced price”, in addition to the option to buy meat packaged in small portions also. All in all, I do like this store. It’s a staple in our neighborhood!
