First time in the store. I needed to go to guest services to get a membership card. Karen wouldn’t help answer a question from her coworker which was weird. She called me over to assist and was rude. Karen should be put on a leave of absence, or written up. She is burnt out and unfit for the job of communicating with the public. Aside from not working well with her coworkers that is a whole other issue. Also I’m not impressed with being treated like a criminal when trying to leave the store. Like I’m not waiting in a line so the one dude you hired to check receipts is so overwhelmed it takes five minutes to leave. Even when checking out with an employee not the self checkout. Hire more people. I’m regretting purchasing a membership here.
Another fun thing. They don’t accept cash when purchasing fuel. Think about this…They do not take legal American tender as payment. Shills for the banks happy to partake in americas cultural decline. I’ll say it once more: They refuse to take money for a product. Unbelievable.

This rating is for my most recent experience. WARNING! You need to understand how BJs prices if you want to get the best deal. On June 5th, 2024, We saw an object in the store that was advertised on sale with a manufacturer's coupon stating that it was good until 6/16/24. And we took a picture of the signage because the item was to be purchased for a non profit and we needed approval.. Today (6/12/24) we went back into the store to purchase said item, knowing we only had until the 16th to do so. When we got there, the item had brand new signage, and while the coupon was still good, the member price had gone up $140.00!!! which made the price $140 more ( over 20% higher) than the sign read a week earlier that was supposed to be good until 6/16. When we questioned it, we were abruptly told that that was the new price and it didn't matter that the original was supposed to be good until 6/16. I believe the woman at the courtesy desk would have given us the item at the lower price, but the rude manager on duty, who would barely look at us, more or less blew us off. My husband then asked for a corporate telephone number. The manager gave him the basic 800 number and watched as he called and got, oh, no surprise, NOT corporate. He asked again for her supervisor's number and was told by the manager that they are NOT ALLOWED to give out. He than asked if she would dial the number for him and she refused. We then learned that the original price was listed with 98 cents at the end, and that apparently at BJs that means the item is on clearance. But get this: when they supposedly got more in, they raised the price because it was no longer " on clearance ". I am not making this up, this is what we were told. None of the signage said prices were subject to change at any time, and they were all dated, even though the manager told us that that was in "the small print " in our general membership. How do you advertise an item on sale and in the middle of the dates change the price???? SO LET THE BUYER BEWARE. I find this practice deceitful. We personally have been members of BJs since the Deptford store opened. Unfortunately, because of the rudeness of the manager, and the way she spoke to us, BJs has lost a new corporate account. Our corporation can spend their money anywhere, and we would rather spend it where we are treated honestly. And as for fine print: our shopping preferences are subject to change without notice .
UPDATE: after actually contacting corporate, and being told this should NEVER have happened to us, the situation was corrected and we are thankful.

Hey, it's not Costco, but it's the best option we have in the area. I've been shopping here for almost 30 years and generally find what I need. Gas prices are great and the rewards on the credit card are excellent as well.

I picked up a jar of salsa that was broken, glass, and salsa all over my shirt. I was told by the employees that management would do nothing about it? Not good! At least pay for the dry cleaning! ?♂️??

Not renewing membership in July.
Every single time I come in this store I either have to dodge a cell phone sales person or a disgruntled employee. Most recently as yesterday evening in the deli department. Look I get it everyone has a bad day every once in a while but when after 3-4 visits and the same employee glares at you and other customers for that matter. It's time to make a decision. You are losing business when your own employees make the shopping experience worse. Groceries are getting more and more expensive, products from the bakery and produce molding within a day or purchase, expiration dates passed and when you combine it with rude, ignorant employees it makes it so much harder to shop there and often times will buy less because we can't stand to be in the store any longer.
After bringing it up to the manager on the floor because the deli department had one person working who would rather be on his phone instead of doing his job and the manager somehow wasn't trained in the deli department or didn't want to help and said he would file the complaint with his supervisor. I walked away with a part of my order not being fulfilled.

They do a great job at making costumers feel uncomfortable especially minorities if you understand, they will triple check items and watch you like a hawk if you choose self checkout but never actually offer costumer service they use there time making people feel uncomfortable and unwanted at this specific establishment in depford. I suggest going elsewhere if your a person of color or specific race.

Went to deli counter early afternoon on Saturday 3/9. Two women working were ridiculously slow. Unbelievably slow. One was more interested in talking to another BJ worker than doing her job. Both deli workers should be re-assigned and not working at the deli. The wait line was well over an hour! I took a ticket, did all my other shopping and came back and waited over 30 minutes. Fortunately, another male worker came and was great. Otherwise I would’ve waited a lot longer. This location needs a new deli manager. The rest of my visit was very good. The rest of the staff was doing their job diligently.

If I could give zero stars I would. This place is absolutely trash. The shoppers are rude and entitled. The deli counter decided to not use numbers tonight and based customers waiting on honor system. I grabbed a number and when I went up (after waiting for 15 minutes) this lady started a fight with me. Mind you, I had a number ahead of her number because she grabbed one also. She stated that because I walked away I gave my spot up. The realissue is the store and how it’s mismanaged. The deli department should use the number system when 10 People are waiting. Had they done that we wouldn’t have people starting fights. They also only have one person who works behind the deli counter. It’s a totally mismanaged store setting their employees up for failure! Management definitely needs training on how to manage a store of that size and make sure they have more than one person in the deli department. I just rejoined and sorry I did. I willNever go back to this store again. It’s trash!

We went here very early in the day and found that is the best time of day! Even though it was fairly busy we weren’t over crowded. The location is very accessible, I use an electronic scooter to get around. It is difficult to get into the bathroom and the handicap stall is all the way at the end of the bathroom. They definitely have good deals here. We are able to stock up on just household items. We always fill up on gas while we are here. The cashier was very nice and helpful. The one item that they stopped carrying that is very disappointing are icy hot patches.

I went in today to purchase a blue tooth speaker I’d been searching for because I found out BJs had it on sale. There were more than enough, grabbed one and came home. Later tonight my son and me opened up the box to test it out. Upon him unwrapping it I noticed there was no handle. Then asked, “where are the wheels?”. I turned the speaker around and notice the speaker label was wrong. It said JBL 300 not JBL 310. As I’m checking to make sure I’m not crazy my son says, “why is it all scratched?”. Reality hits, it’s a used different speaker in the correct box. We packed it back up, I grabbed my receipt and membership card and headed back to the store. Shame on me, I guess, for being a honest person and explaining the whole truth. I was told a manager would be needed to approve the return because the item didn’t match the box and because it was a high ticket item. The manager informed me that they would take my information and I would have to wait for a Randall to call me to go over the situation and get my money back. More than once I clarified I wasn’t trying to get money, I just wanted the speaker I came out in my day off in the snow for. Our family has been long time members and spend all too much money every two weeks in this store. I am beyond disappointed.

I'm tired of buying eggs there that make me throw away food I'm making because of blood in the eggs I buy at bjs.
