Wouldn’t have given it 1 star!!!Horrible experience, 2 ladies that work there were arguing seemed like forever, so it was a uncomfortable environment!, Helen messed up my soft locs , parts were snatched and not even, Very sloppily done and I paid 180. She was rushing to finish my hair so she can do someone else hair, I went on vacation my locs started unraveling the same day! Called the owner who told me to come back and she would fix it, to my surprise she had the same lady that messed them up to fix my hair. Oh and don’t buy the hair next store, the ends were split and it was cheap and smelled bad! Run and don’t look back!

First things first- DON’T EVER go next door to purchase hair, you WILL be over charged. I paid over $20 for a pack of curly hair to add to my braids and it was so nappy I just cut it out my hair myself!! But beside that, I’ve been coming here since I was in high school and yeah maybe sometimes you have to wait but most times you don’t especially if you book an appointment. I’m late with this review but my last braids I got done by the young lady in the front and she did my small knotless braids in 5hrs!!! I couldn’t believe how fast it was lol even though she had help braiding down, 5 hrs is crazy in a good way!! The only reason I wouldn’t give 5 stars is because there was some confusion on the length I wanted which was to my butt and I was told another price over the phone but other than that the service is good and they are always friendly and never pulled out my edges. If you ask them they don’t braid up your edges and I’m tender headed and my hair is really soft so they knew not to pull my hair and that’s always a plus. There’s a reason this place has been open for over 20yrs
Requested style: I got butt length small knotless braids for $300 and they lasted 3 months .. would’ve been longer but my hair was twisting up

Hair Braiding appointments. This was 2nd time I booked with this establishment and I had to walk away because of poor time management. I booked a 12pm appointment I left after 12:45 with no regard for my time.
Stylist: Not only was I waiting for over 45 minutes they were taking walk ins. Poor customer service and bad business practices. As a customer a business will only do what you allow and believe it's acceptable. I wish them the best but I will not support and wanted to share my disgust because this happened more than once to me.

It's time to stop getting ridiculous. Don't get me in your backroom and tell me $240 for twists for a kid that you said would take 3 hours to complete. I understand that it is a popular thing to wear braids, but braiding and cornrows are like frying chicken...we can do it ourselves. I come to the shop for convenience, but I can also sit in the living room or on my porch with my girlfriends chatting for a few hours and do the same thing, like back in the day when we all had edges. That's $80/hr for a headache and to have edges pulled out.
I give you 2 stars because you were willing to take her right away and you weren't mean acting, however I don't enjoy when you try to swindle me. I chose to spend my money elsewhere.

Helen was my stylist and not only was she fast but she was super funny and kept me entertained. Been going here since I was a teenager and now I'm definitely back for the long run ?

I drive 30+ minutes to come to this salon and been doing so for 4+ years. Everyone is welcoming, has a great personality & talented about braiding hair styles. There is free parking & the salon is in a nice location. Also easy booking & the hairdressers are ready to get you started, there is little to no wait time. As long as I am in NJ, I will continue to come here to get my hair done!

They're liars they told me they could do a style in an hour. I drove 40 minutes!!!! And came and they said sorry nobody can do that style. I said I wish I knew that before you lied to me. Very pissed off, dont lie and say you can do something you can't. Dont do business here.
Update: The owner called me saying she wasn't in the salon so what they said was wrong. That the woman was on the way if I could go back. So I went back and waited. The lady inside apologized for misinforming me. They said shes coming soon. So then she puts me on the phone with the lady supposed to do my hair. She says I had an appointment could they start your hair? I said okay. I asked the price she said let me take a picture to send her because its cash only and before the style is done. I heard her keep telling the lady my hair is super kinky. I have large 4c hair that reaches mid back blow out, but not tangled. The lady took me next door to buy 2 packs of hair which was $24! Never again, but I just wanted my hair done. So we get back and another lady walks up and immediately says, " no no no". So the one that took me to the store said" Just blow dry something.... " Other lady said "no no no". Then she responded "well she comes at 1pm. " Mind you its like 10:40-50 am at this time. So they got her back on the phone and she explains they cant start the style because they dont know how, do you want to wait until 1pm? So I wasted my time coming back , waited , my money on hair I dont need. I thought I was set honestly once the owner called me after I left. But it was lies to get me back, after I texted the owner that I left again no response. Cause the owner literally was on the phone telling me shes only a couple minutes away she will be there soon so I came back and waited. For nothing. This is why I usually always do my own hair, unless I have the Dominicans blow it out. Cause my own people judge me coming through the door and lie. Wasted my time.

The lady was rough blow drying my hair. She started from the roots to the end, when you are supposed to start from the end to the roots. There is miscommunication about who’s doing your hair or not. They are always trying to get u to buy hair from next door hair store. The hair store next door is over priced. They get mad if u don’t buy hair from next door. So they will treat you funny. If you have left over hair, they try to keep it as well. Messy shop hair all over the food. They don’t respect people and give you the run around on products, hair etc. Do not come here. This is a bad business.
