Old ladies at registers really can't do the job handed to them. Did not know how to split payments, do a refund or really much of anything. I also don't want your credit card and when someone says no it means No! Ask once not twice or more. I went in three times and nobody could do the transaction I then sent my husband as I no longer had the patience to deal with the incompetence of these women to which a male at the register was able to complete the transaction in seconds.

The store is clean. The staff is pleasant. A lot of the clearance items were damaged, but perhaps that's why they're on clearance. They seemed a bit understaffed but it wasn't too busy in the store.

DO NOT SHOP AT Newington TJMAXX BEDBUG WARNING!!!!!!Selling clothes with bedbugs I’m all set they’re gonna have to disinfect and or get rid of most of that store TJmaxx start listening to your customers we don’t want bedbugs and you shouldn’t be taking out just for us to spend more on bedbug cleaners. tjmax looks like law suits

I've been in many T J Maxx stores. This one in Portsmouth was very understocked and unorganized. There were racks of stuff blocking the walkways.

One of the better TJ Maxx's in the area and it's in the same shopping plaza as a Home Goods (owned by the same parent company) so it's convenient to hit both if you have a member card (works at all TJ, HomeGoods, Marshalls, Home sense)
