had a door installed by them and was very disappointed in the workmanship. lock set wouldn't hold the door closed. Nicks sent their installer to fix and had to jury rig it to work. it is giving me trouble again. Also installed a storm door and it's not level. It rubs at the top. Technician came out again and never repaired it properly. Its still hitting at the top. I am not a happy customer. Nothing wrong with the product but the installer they use is terrible. Get someone else to install.

Where do I begin! 40 years of service and they should close their doors now! For a small business I was shocked on how they handle customer service. I ordered a Andersen Sliding Door for our new home and the frame was damaged when I opened the box. Called Nicks and spoke to the rep I ordered the door through and to get a response of return call was impossible. Once I got the new frame delivered to my home ( Andersen warranty) we called our contractor to installs these doors ALL the time. He noticed parts were missing to complete the install. He completed what he could complete and informed us to contact the dealer as its on them. I emailed Nicks Doors & Windows about the box that was missing and their response was I did FIND that box at our warehouse.. NO ONE EVER CALLED ME TO LET ME KNOW! It took me the consumer to call them and let them know about the part. I asked for them to find a technician to come and finish the install due to them failing to have a check list to make sure consumers get all their boxes when they order a large item.. they said well we got you a $600 frame for free... awful response as the frame was under warranty as it was first delivered DAMAGED! IN TODAYS WORLD CUSTOMER SERVICE IS KEY !

Not real pleased with the quality of the door nor the lack of customer service. I paid a lot for a door that took almost 3 months to come in (I was promised 4-6 weeks). When it arrived it looked like very shoddy workmanship. Nick said, "It's just the way these doors are made." When the guy came to install it I pointed out how the door had a lot of "play" in it and moved when latched. The installer said, "I'm just paid to install the door, not tweak it, call Nick." I left 3 messages for Nick to call me regarding this issue but he never returned my call. Frustrating to say the least.

This place has the worst customer service. They called when my for some doors was supposedly in, but they didn't bother to check anything but the paperwork to determine whether they had the right order. So I took a day off from work to install the doors. When I arrived (a 40 minute drive) they had the wrong sized doors. The guy there at the time acted like a know-nothing and said I'd have to talk to someone during the week. I left a message to have someone call me, but no one ever did. When I called them two days later, not only did I not even get an apology, the guy basically said that's tough *&$%^ for you. "We check the paperwork only and have been doing it that way for 40 years." Well, I have one thing to say to Nick -- Maybe after 40 years, it's time to hang up the cletes. Customers expect more these days than that kind of cavalier attitude and service. I'm giving them one star because the rating system does not allow me to give them less -- My true rating -- Zero stars.
