Came to Gilded Edge with two maps from the Great Depression era, from a volume of Sanborn Maps. Rob was helpful in proposing various framing options to match the time period and aesthetic of the works.Since the maps were wavy, he suggested float mounting where the pages rest entirely atop the mat. The frame used finished corner construction with distressed painting to give the impression that the pages have been in these frames for decades --- handmade by one of Rob's network of specialists.Rob added an ink line / French matting, which is characteristic of the time period. He showed me the pen he used to draw the lines, and it's legit antique.Since the pages are two-sided, Rob was able to make a scan of the backs and print facsimiles as well as provide us with the digital image files.I'd highly recommend Gilded Edge for any framing needs and especially those that deserve true expertise, passion, and advanced technique. Make sure to budget enough time to chat and take a look at some of the other pieces at the shop.

My long time friend Rob owns this shop. He is a multi faceted artists in many mediums, which helps him blend all his skills into amazing artistic outcomes. Rob is helping me restore a few family treasures, so they can be passed down in our family.

Rob is definitely worth the money! He is very professional and does amazing work! I absolutely love my frames! One was for me and one was for my brother as a surprise for Christmas! My brother loved his as well! We got these prints on our first road trip together and Rob took them to the next level with the colored mat and frame.I also love the fact that Rob really takes the time to collaborate with you and has such a variety of frames and mats to choose from. I also love how he offers a budget friendly line (I did that for these frames and look how good they are!!) But the sky is the limit if you don’t have budget and want something really artistic! He can do it all!!I will definitely be back!!

First of all THANK YOU Rob! I brought you a very special painting (although it wouldn't have seemed like much to most people, but it was a very personal family piece & it meant the world to ME). You accepted the task and did an amazing job. You took extreme care in keeping it as original as possible while at the same time, creating a very sound piece of art by tightening up the frame, adding the backing and hanger which was not there to begin with. Not to mention, you did this all while dealing with your own family/personal struggles (which I pray are getting better) and focused on my "family struggle". In hindsight, was nothing in comparison to yours, so AGAIN, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND Rob & The Guilded Edge Frame Shop for ANY framing work that you need/want done. Extremely friendly, courteous and attentive to your needs, not to mention VERY reasonably priced!. In Rob's time of need he still went above and beyond for me and had the piece done before my move to Texas! If I could give 10 stars ... I certainly would. Rob took on another unique project for us, and turned it into a masterpiece. Dealing with Rob is a pleasure. He is patient, creative, professional, and thinks outside of the box. With this project, we discovered that the companies that source Rob with materials are still impated by Covid 19, so our project took longer than usual, which Rob made clear to us from the get go. I can't think of a better frame shop, anywhere. Gilded Edge is the best!

I have both positive and a negative review. The owner Rob is very positive and took my deposit 1/2 price of the job. He told me he was having trouble getting and keeping help. On the work order he said my piece would be completed Feb 24. I dropped it off Jan 22. I continued to get put aside. After many calls he finally said it was ready June 16. That was, after he had again called me to have to make a repair after something fell and damaged the frame. What an experience! The job was beautiful in the end. Rob spent the time picking out a lovely affordable frame with me.

Rob is very good at understanding the customer requirements and fits our budget really well and does a really great job. I’m really impressed with the work and the effort put to make the frames look so beautiful.
