When it comes to diagnosing an issue I’m having with one of my vehicles, he’s been 100% accurate. I will only use KG and highly recommend the business.”

“I gave these guys a 5 star review even though it took them 4 + weeks to get the vehicle back from them. No one, or very few people are so situated that they can wait 4 weeks for a vehicle. I was told 2, initially, and than when I went to pay they gave me the runaround and told me it could be as much as 3. It ended up taking 4. Bottom line, be prepared to be patient. Aside from that, all the work got done that was promised, I got the truck right in to my mechanic here in Maine and they said it passed with flying colors. Great truck!! Runs like top. Aside from the fact that they are a small crew, these guys are solid and stand by their work. 1000% recommend. Truck was cleaned when it got to me. And they brought it to Exeter for a bit more when it was ready. Alan and Eric are good men in a thankless profession.”

“This garage has some great reviews and some terrible ones. I'll share my experience for whatever it is worth.
Austin auto is not an inexpensive garage to go to. I trust Tim Austin, but some of his hired help has been bad. Tim has high standards for what is road worthy, so you won't get a quick cheap state inspection. He did pass me last year for just the cost of inspection, but this year he found many more things in need of repair. The catalytic converter needed replacement so that's $1,000 right there. The water pump needed replacement, which I knew, and he also did some break lines and a rear break cylinder. Some other rusty break and exhaust parts were needed as well. So this year it cost me $1,900, but I don't think he did any work that was not necessary. I probably would have paid more at the dealership. My exhaust system is quieter, and the breaks are much stronger.
I had a small problem 3 years or so ago when my car wouldn't start. Tim was not there, and his help assumed that a new starter was needed. That turned out not to be the problem, and Tim found the correct problem later. I paid for all the work done because it wasn't that expensive, but it was an example of not so great hired help.
In review, it seems that Tim Austin is a very good and thorough mechanic, and he doesn't work for cheap for a good reason. It seems to me that the bad experiences come mainly from his sometimes inferior helpers.”
