Peace of mind!I always go to Google Reviews for a business I’m unsure of and try to sort through which reviews seem genuine. Look no further, I’m a paranoid pet dad who was very nervous about giving my animal to a board service/trainer. The risk was worth the reward.I did a lot of research for my dog before I had a trip and I was very unsettled about leaving him with someone I didn’t know. He’s a rescue from another country and had very inhumane living conditions before I got him (let’s just say he was on a menu somewhere). Plus he’s only 20 lbs and pretty defensive at times. I was worried he would have a bad experience with a dog and get hurt or wouldn't be properly supervised around other animals.K9 to 5 seemed to have good reviews. A few outliers like any company, but if you look at their history Jacqui has gone out of her way to make her company the best that it can be from the motivation of actually caring. I locked in a reservation after having the best feeling about her.Dropping him off for a “meet and greet day” before committing to my reservation was a little nerve wracking. Honestly I had a little of a hard time finding the place so do your research on Google maps before you go (yes, its behind the June Cork Pub, just stay left upon entering and it will take you down to the entrance). Upon entering, I noticed the place was definitely a dog heaven. It has all fancy training equipment and had an enthusiastic staff ready to meet him. Sure, the place definitely had a dog smell to it lol but… it’s a dog place. That’s what they do. Seemed very clean despite this. I left my little dude there for about 8 hours and when I picked him up he was happy as a clam. When the time to go for my actual trip, Jacqui accommodated my weird drop off hours needed and took him personally. I was given information on how to log onto cameras to watch him while I was gone. Then as time passed, I started getting videos of what he was being trained on and he looked so happy! When I finally picked him up, he was happy to see me but almost seemed like he was sad to leave. He was definitely properly socialized and had made a few friends. It was pretty warming. In the end I ended up with a lot of videos (see attached snippet) on what my dog had learned from training which left me at a great place to continue building good habits with him. Jacqui had a lot of great tricks and tips and even provided solid documents to continue this journey with my dog. It’s going to be my go to place if I ever go out of town and want peace of mind. I think you will have the same experience as me if you go with this company. Thanks K9 to 5!

I cannot recommend Jacqui and staff at K9 to 5 enough! I got good vibes as soon as she replied to my inquiry about the Board and train program. I sent my 1 year old American Bully named Ellie because she had some behavioral issues that I needed help addressing, like jumping and leash pulling. I selected the 2 week/tier 3 Board and Train program. She helped me make sure Ellie had all the required shots and got Ellie in for the trial day within a few weeks. The trial day helped ease my nerves as Ellie hasn’t been in a daycare setting before. Ellie did great and her first day was a week after.During Ellie’s time there Jacqui sent me videos of her progress and how to continue training at home. Ellie is allergic to a lot ingredients in normal dog treats. Jacqui was very good at ensuring to only use treats I provided, cheese, vegan hot dogs, and veggies. There are cameras that I was able so I could check on Ellie. When Ellie came home she was a completely different dog behaviorally. It was very apparent that the behaviors I brought Ellie in for were worked on. Jacqui spent about an hour with me going over what she learned and how to keep training going at home.It was a great experience for both Ellie and me. Like I said before I would recommend K9 to 5 to anyone.

We came here when we adopted a 3 year old pitbull for some obedience training and to help us bond. The instructor, Jacqui, is so incredible and helped us learn so much about our new girl. She even taught us some pitbull specific traits and how to work with them. After graduating her class, anytime we have a question we know we can email Jacqui with any questions and she is happy to answer because she cares about our little lady getting the right life. We are absolutely going to sign up for intermediate class and maybe even scent training. I highly recommend this place if you need to train your dog.

I loved Jacqui when we had puppy classes but as soon as we went to use the free 1-on-1 class that came with our puppy class, she never returned our texts or emails. She only responded to our requests for day school and boarding where we were paying her. She claims she is a behavioral specialist but when our puppy became reactive and started biting, she kicked him out of all classes, trainings, and boarding (3 weeks before a trip so we had to scramble to figure something out) and never set up that 1-on-1. It's been over 6 months without a response. When we sent him to day school, I went to pick him up and he was in a diaper! He was only 8 months old at the time and was learning to give a signal to go outside which he was doing great with at home, there was no reason to be in a diaper if they listened to his cues. She also requires you to buy a 30 foot leash for class to only use it for 10 minutes, a waste of $30. We ended up going to a trainer that was far away and our puppy is doing AMAZING now! Please do not use K9 to 5 if you have a reactive dog!

I'm not a first time dog owner, but my family recently adopted a very skittish puppy. I knew that we'd need to bring on someone very skilled to help us train her. Jacqui came to me highly recommended. We enrolled our puppy in Jacqui's Puppy Basics class and our dog thrived in her program (and passed!). I cannot wait to continue our trainings with K9 to 5 soon!

K9 to 5 - Jacqui and her crew are all amazing. We got our new puppy Gizmo and wanted to start training. We were informed about K9 to 5 and immediately contacted. They were very quick and responsive. We started classes within a month (I think). The first group of classes is really teaching you how to learn and somewhat training the dogs with fun. The 2nd class was amazing. We dove right into teach the dogs because we had already learned how to train. The classes were amazing and well planned out. They took all the precautions with Covid-19 as well and it was and amazing and safe experience. Our time didn't end there. We were very luck to adopt Nola through them and OMG she is amazing. They taught her very well. She is a spaz sometimes but that just makes her that much better. They were also very flexible with getting my parents dog in the training with us as well. We have purchased 6 months of puppy day care twice now and it is AMAZING. Our dogs freak out each time we drive anywhere near the facility. They are always excited to see this crew and always exhausted when coming home.If you are looking for a great team, comfortable environment, amazing training for yourself and your family member (dog) this is the place to go.Keep up the great work. Thanks K9 to 5 crew.-Rezack Family-

I completed puppy & intermediate classes here and the classes were amazing! We were able to learn a lot! Riggs is a small dog and it was tricky for me to figure out how to approach him! Especially since at the time of puppy classes I think he was barely 9 inches tall and weight about 6 pounds ? so everything was a bit harder since he was just so small! Jacqui had SO MANY tips and tricks and by the end of the class he was a total rockstar. We went back for intermediate and we had a blast then as well! Riggs is a weird balance between stubborn and sensitive and Jacqui helped me find just the right communication style for us to understand each other’s needs. I really recommend her to anyone! But especially someone whose a first time “dog owner” like myself! I’ve had family dogs in the past but Riggs is my first dog that’s 100% mine and I was a bit lost on where to start I’m glad I had those classes to help us get off on the right foods together!

Jacqui was wonderful to work with! Our 15 pound shih tzu Yorkie mix had learned a lot of bad habits because we had not properly trained him. He was resource guarding and impossible to take on walks. Jacqui started from the basics and spent the time educating us and getting to know Mikey. She helped us figure out ways to work with him and our lifestyle-we have a 10 month old with lots of tiny toys. She was so responsive, had terrific weekend availability and was always on time. We loved spending time with her! Thanks Jacqui!
