Brady helped us find hiking boots. He knew everything there was to know about every brand, how they fit, what gives the best ankle support. He also gave us good hiking recommendations for our area. Make this young man a manager. He is awesome!

Jeannie helped me in the shoe department. She was very knowledgeable and patient regarding the various brands. She also made sure I was a coop member and was aware of REI's amazing return policy. I don't know why I would buy my hiking and casual shoes anywhere else! Jeannie was fabulous!! I'm so glad we have a NH REI location.

The store looks great, with all of the latest gear, advice and recommendations, deals on closeouts and promos, and all that I've come to expect from REI.What I didn't expect was the best customer service I've witnessed in damn near (maybe over?) a decade.I've worked most of my life in outdoor recreation and retail, seen and worked with the best of the best (full disclosure, I worked with this store's manage, Joe Ruston, through the years and count him among them, so I shouldn't have been so surprised). This was right up there with any great outdoor retail experience I've ever had.The thing is though, this trip wasn't about me, it was about getting my 12 y/o daughter geared up and comfortable to start to find her own place in outdoor sports.Every single member of the staff that we spoke to was empowering, enthusiastic, thorough, and inviting to a kid whom most of them had never met.This spring I'll be outfitting my son as well, and of course, my wife and I will be upgrading our gear (as always).It will ABSOLUTELY be in the Bedford, NH REI store.Without a doubt.

Brought my and my wife's snowboards in to be serviced. The gentlemen at the counter took off our bindings and handed them to me. He wrote the binding settings on a piece of paper and stuck it to our boards. Came back a couple of days later to grab the boards. No paper to help us remember where our bindings went. The guy behind the counter "different guy" said. "not that hard to figure out" That was his response. Well i spent the hole day riding and trying to figure out where they used to be. So annoying, all cause someone cant do there job. Wont ever come into this store again.

I never used to shop at REI due to how far the one in Mass was. I have gone to this location multiple times and their staff, one in particular, is the main reason I will continue to shop here. I struggle when it comes to finding appropriate shoes, and Lonna is the most patient, kind, and helpful person I have ever been helped by. She was able to answer every question I had in detail so I knew exactly what I needed. I never knew about the REI co-op membership, and Lonna is the reason I became a member! I loved how she discussed the perks and benefits, but didn’t push or hound me to sign up. When she said it’s only $30, I was shocked and immediately signed up! Their entire team works flawlessly together and the store is extremely clean. Since my first visit, I always have taken Lonna’s advice when it comes to gear that’s appropriate for me, she truly made my time there a personal experience that I’ve never had at any store!

Two older women followed me and my wife around the entire time we were in the store. Im 30 and my jacket costs more than your entire wardrobe I dont appreciate being followed around and questioned. One literally asked if I'm a member then a minute later comes up and asks if we have ever shopped there before after I told her I was a member prior...Needless to say instead of standing in the long line to purchase the 200$ boots and 800$ jacket we were there to get I went onto the public lands website and ordered from them instead.**looking at older reviews this seems like a common issue. for some reason wagies making 5$ an hr think they are detectives who can judge customers

The new REI is so tiny compared to the one in reading with far less product and sizes and Bedford NH is definitely more expensive than reading. Sad! The employees in Bedford that I have dealt with have no knowledge of the products they are selling and just look at you with the deer and headlights look.

Picked up a roof box we ordered online and an employee helped us install it on our car right then and there. Super helpful! Store was great. Got a lifetime co-op membership for $30 and got a $30 bonus card!

The bike shop tech is terrible. I called to see how long it would take to fix a tire that was losing all its air over 2 days . They said, are you a member? I said yes. They said if its just a patch we will do it for free while you wait. I went in and saw the bike tech. He literally shouted at me "What do you want me to do about it?" Then he started to grill me with questions. Finally he takes the tube out, runs it along his cheek, and tells me I dont have a problem. Then he hands it back to me with everything unassembled and hands me a new tube. "Try this if it still loses air".

As a new hiker, the thought of selecting my first backpack seemed daunting. However thanks to Jeff, who was both friendly and knowledgeable, I (6’7) was able to find a pack that aligned with my future intended use and price range. He not only was patient as many bags didn’t fit but also was able to inform me on the proper way to wear and adjust the pack, along with some of the other features it possessed. Jeff was extremely helpful and honestly just a great guy.

The staff is super helpful and knowledgeable. I was looking for some specific sizes and looking for recommendations and they did nothing less than their best. Really pleased with my experience.
