Small local business. Excellent house brand. Owner rolls many of his own from his leaf in Nicaragua. Many popular name brands as well. Great people. Great shops to enjoy your smoke.

I was in Reno on a trip recently, and I completely forgot my travel humidor with all of my supplies. Did a quick search and found this gem of a lounge! The lounge had a very relaxed feel walking in, and had that nostalgic smell of cigars without smelling like an old ashtray. I was also greeted with a smile from the lovely lady at the counter. They have a nice selection of sticks and the humidor seemed to be kept a a good humidity. But I didn't come for cigars, just took a little stroll through the selection. What I can for was an inexpensive pipe, some English tobacco, and a pipe tool. I was helped by a gentleman that I believe owns the joint -- did not get his name -- and was walked through some options for a few tobacco flavors they carry, and settled on the only English they had on hand, which was a Balkan Supreme, which I remember my brother-in-law telling me about, and the gentleman also offered a history of this award winning tobacco. I was also set up with a corn cob pipe at a great price, a simple pipe nail, and some matches -- I was all set! Meant to go back after my training and hang out but my training went late, so I enjoyed a bowl outside of my hotel, and I could not have been happier, thanks to Ruiz Cigars.

As much as I would like to support local businesses I unfortunately will not be returning to Ruiz Cigars. The guy behind the counter was a complete jerk. I had the same experience as other reviewers (Scott H. and Wes) Unbelievably rude, inconsiderate...I felt like I had interrupted his personal time by showing up in the store. I regret actually purchasing anything as I found the pipe I wanted much cheaper on line. The cost was not the issue though...I prefer spending my money locally...but the employee (Younger guy with long hair and a boat load of attitude) has run me off for good. I'll drive all the way to Carson to purchase from another store or I will shop online. Never again at this place.

I’m afraid that I had the same experience as Wes. I went in to buy a new pipe and tobacco- and the clerk was just a (:@&! Condescending and appeared irritated I was there, irritated I was not familiar with the different types of pipe tobaccos, and just rude. Dude- go back to sitting watching the game with your buddies and let someone else talk to customers! You’re not good at it!

We visit this place every time we go to Reno. Best place to smoke a cigar and the people who run the place are very friendly and helpful, as are other customers (I would presume regulars) who will chat you up. A great cigar shop!

I'm in town for the week and picked this place out of a hat to get my cigar supply for the week. I am glad I did. The selection is great and the prices were very fair. The sweat were super comfortable and there are drinks provided in the back. Cigar people are some of the best people around, and this place exemplifies that. Not just the owner and workers, but the patrons were wonderful people. The social ambiance was very warm and comfortable. You feel free to strike up a conversation or sit in solitude. I did both. If I lived here, I would be here at least a couple of times a week.
