The best school

In November 2020, I scheduled a tour over the phone with Cornerstone to check out their Elementary school program. My daughter was due to begin kindergarten in the Fall of 2021 and my husband and I knew that we wanted our daughter to be in a private school. Prior to my tour appointment for CCA, I had already toured St. Christopher's Catholic (virtually), Merryhill Elementary School (virtually), Challenger School Los Prados (in person) and St. Anne Catholic School (in person). The school does not look much from the outside but upon entering, I was greeted by a very welcoming front office staff. My tour guide (can't remember her name at the moment) is in charge of the curriculum selection for the school. She gave me a very thorough and detailed tour. She showed me all the areas (apart from the preschool since I was there for the elementary school). She gave me an insight as to what they were doing to keep the children and staff safe during the pandemic in order to be able to stay open all school year. Unlike CCSD schools and charters, CCA was still doing in person learning and stayed open all 2020-2021school year. The school has an impressive dance studio, beautiful chapel, playgrounds to accommodate all ages and more. When our tour concluded I knew that I wanted my daughter to go to school there. I was that impressed not only with the work they do with the children but with the overall feeling that I had throughout my tour. It was at this time that my tour guide advised me that when the time came near for kindergarten open enrollment, my child would have to be tested to see if their rigorous curriculum would be a good fit for my child. The children in their PreK program had an automatic reserved spot but if I wanted her to go there, she'd have to be tested. She handed me a packet with all the things she would be tested on for me to work on with her at home. My daughter was no where near ready, so I asked for information about the PreK program. The Preschool Director, Ms. Benson (ahhhmazing lady), gave me a quick tour of the preschool side. She brought my daughter and I to one of the preK classrooms and it was one of the best classrooms I have ever been in. My shy girl was completely engaged with the whole room and the teachers and the students were so kind to her. Needless to say, I signed her up for their PreK program that day!My daughter is currently in their Kindergarten program and she is thriving and getting a great education. We look forward to many years with CCA. As long as we are stationed here, my daughter will be going to CCA.---Lillian W.

The 2 teachers from pre- kinder wanted to put my child on a year behind. Especially I paid for one year of tuition for my child, it was confusion I almost agreed with that. Certainly I took my child to another private school to get tested obviously and he passed the test for kindergarten. And one of their assistants was not kind talking to me, she was disrespectful her speech. It happened one time she harassed me at the office and I didn't like her offensive approach. ??

My middle school students had such a terrible experience at this school this year.I truly hope others have a better experience than we did because middle school years are so fragile. There are so many things I want to say but I just want to move on…

Honestly, all of the positive reviews and comments about this awful school is all lies. It’s basically advertisement of a money-seeking school. The staff does not care of your needs and doesn’t take attention to any matter, if it’s important or minimal. They constantly fundraise for money but not using it for the student’s needs. They buy unnecessary things like stage props and not for educational purposes. The tuition is extremely high and tremendously needless, which is $800 a month. That’s $8,000 a year for one child resulting repulsive learning. I recommend not going to this school and taking advice from this statement.

We absolutely love this school! This is our second year there, our kids are both in middle school and love going to school every day. The communication between the school admin office and the teachers with parents is exceptional. Ms. Kaye, the principal, is very approachable and involved, I never met a harder working principal. The children and families that go there have all been friendly and welcoming. Pastor Greg and his family go out of their way to get to know the children and their family members, they really care about the kids and it shows.

My children had a very bad experience at this middle school this year. I truly hope others have better luck cause middle school years are pretty fragile. So many things I'd like to say but I'm just ready to move on...

My children have been attending Cornerstone for 4 school years now and we have had an amazing experience at this school thus far. The children are excelling academically and spiritually. The strong Christian foundation that CCA has built is solid. The welcoming environment is so heart warming as well. The preschool is a fantastic program and I am honored that my youngest was apart of this program and received quality education. The Tykes program is rated one of the top preschools in Las Vegas and has earned both NAEYC Accreditation & ACSI Accreditation.. that says a lot about the level of education that is provided here at Cornerstone! Not to mention, voted Gold and Silver stars for the Best of Las Vegas and our Academy has been voted as top 3 private schools in Las Vegas.. Come check us out and see what all the buzz is about!

Great school. Clean. My kid never got sick again ever since he started. great communication with the parents. Staff cares. Good teacher to child ratio. Professional teachers. Great environment. I wish more parents knew about this school. My child used to be at children's learning adventure and was always home sick due to the amount of germs in their classrooms. Cornerstone is the best.

We love Cornerstone Christian Academy. The director Amy Benson is amazing and truly seems to love what she does. Our son loved his praying penguin teachers Mrs. Williams and Miss Corona and will truly miss them as he advances to his next class Marvellous Monkeys. We look forward to another positive yr in his education and growth in general.Nurse Zwani is simply God send. Keep up the good work.Proud parent.

I had two daughters graduate from Cornerstone. The teachers and staff provided a caring and warm experience. In addition the small class sizes provided my girls the attention needed to excel.

My son has been attending Cornerstone since he was 2 yrs old. He feels loved and cared for. You can tell the teachers see the best in your child and they try to bring that out. Their academics are challenging and he has new experiences each day. I can tell because he asks lots of questions at home and shows me new academic skills every day. The teachers (and school) love God and they reinforce God’s love with the kids.

My granddaughter is attending her 2nd year at the academy (started with K, now in 1st grade), and I've enjoyed watching her excel each year. She is now reading on 4th grade level. Her teachers have been excellent, kind & caring. Most important to me, is her getting a Christian foundation & has a weekly Bible verse to memorize. I would recommend this school to anyone wanting their child out of the public school system.

Not a good school. No pun intended but they do not practice what they preach. We've been informed directly and through email, by management including the senior pastor Greg, that they do not care about nor do they value family values. We've been yelled at, by staff and Greg (believe it or not) that they don't care. All they want is your money. What they need is new pastor staff and upper school management and some humility and to be more God fearing / focused. I suggest you find another school to take your kids to.
