This is the best place in the valley to get items in bulk and reduce usage of disposable plastics. Their customer service is excellent. They allow and encourage reusable containers. I have on occasion run into some issues with their bulk goods and produce, but the staff have always listened and acted respectfully to make it right. (Edit: removed comment re: sometimes I did in the past encounter some less than fresh garlic, but that was a while ago, and since the last time I've only found the best garlic there)

Prices are good, sales are great so 3 stars although Today I got my first ginger shot from the juice bar. The maker informed me that she added water before putting the ginger shot through to flush out the beet residue. It tasted like 80% water content so I informed her and excepted a remake, instead she went to get her boss. When the boss came over she had a bottle of concentrated, shelf stable ginger juice In her pocket, ready to argue. The price displayed for fresh ginger juice is 99 cents but I was charged $2.49. 2.49 makes more sense for 1 ounce of ginger juice so I didn't question it and assumed they haven't change their sign since inflation or I was misreading it. When the boss confronted me she Informed me that there is water in the ginger juice intentionally. She said she would charge a lot more for pure ginger and claims she does it because pure ginger juice is too strong. As someone that has worked in and visited many juice bars, I'm aware that pure, fresh ginger juice is a selling point and not a deterrent. If water is being mixed with juice, that needs to be displayed in the ingredients and next to the price, which is the argument I presented to her. She chose to respond with resistance and distain. I requested a refund and she instead ignored my request and preceded to open the bottle of ginger juice to pour me a 1 oz shot, with the awareness of how unpalatable it was going to be and as a "solution" Maybe it was a solution to the point she was trying to make but at what cost? There are times for pure fresh ginger juice and their are times for shelf stable ginger juice. After a relaxing but strenuous workout I wanted the anti inflammatory properties of fresh, pure ginger juice. With how the boss behaved I assumed she'd be a supervisor at most so I over shot and asked if the was the manger. She said she's one of the owners. I'm disappointed.

A friend and I were on the search for Myrrh and we asked one of the associates for help.She directed us to some essential oils and she handed us a bottle and we ended up not needing the oil and we placed it next to the display. Then this associate proceeds to chase us to the door accusing us in front of other customers of stealing! I have never been more humiliated in a store. This isn’t any “family oriented business” I would support!

The hot soup bar is always a treat. Today is the sunchoke and parsnip soup and it delightful! The tumeric, ginger, carrot orange juice special is also divine. Good job MVF; everything is clean and tasty. Consistent in my book since 2011! Love you guys!

As I was shopping I over heard an employee degrading a cusomer horribly you could tell this customer had a disability and, the employee could tell as well . I am so angry right now! So thare is another employee named Greg who came in and helped her, what a sweet heart! I'm starting to hear things this store manager is treating employee's and customers badly her name is Tessa wh. . I will shop elsewhere thank you!!!

The employees of MVF are incredible! Very kind and helpful. A great variety for a small store. As a vegan I really love the fresh meal options. The vegan potato salad, pumpkin chia seed pudding and vegetable medley are to die for! It's my go to alot for a healthy lunch. Also love the dried fruit options especially the dried mango and jack fruit. ❤️ ??

I hesitate to give a locally owned store a bad review, but this store barely earns the two stars I gave it. I expected a great produce department, given that this store specializes in natural, organic food. The produce department was tiny and the quality of the produce was marginal. The delicata squash was near the window, where it has been allowed to over-ripen. Everything I shopped for was outrageously expensive--on average one to two dollars more expensive per item in every department than the other natural grocery store up the road. Very disappointing, and I won't be returning. I love supporting locally owned businesses, but I can't afford to shop here.

this might be the cleanest grocery store I've ever been into, it is always spotless.Search around and see if you can find a piece of dust on the floor (good luck).I love their bulk bin options (shout out to nutritionist yeast and steel cut oats) And they have some uniquely amazing tasting prepackaged food in the refrigerated area. that's right next to the deli.Staff is always friendly.

One of the cleanest grocery stores I've ever been into, Mountain Valley Foods has a great bulk bin and there are always a few deals to be found throughout the store.I keep sampling different prepackaged deli food they make in store, and they are all excellent thus far - besides being of the "eat clean" variety, they are always bursting with flavor (the chili lime quinoa mix I got a week ago still lingers in my taste buds memory).The staff has always been friendly every time I've gone in as well, and unlike a lot of these co-ops, the focus here seems to be on the food, rather than focusing on whatever the social justice dujour of the day is (looking at you Natural Grocers).

Remind me never to shop here again. The prepared foods section is great and brings us in but store managers are bitter, have no social or customer service skills and are incredibly rude. Despite being a normal loyal customer and intentionally choosing to support small local business, the managers here treated us in a bizarrely rude way. Get new management and this would be a really wonderful store. They other employees are awesome and so friendly and nice!
