I called the front desk looking for a hotel with a hot tub. Sadly this one does not. The desk clerk was friendly but then suddenly said "Ok, thanks for calling" and hung up. As member with 600k points, I find this disturbing customer service.

Upon check in we came into a hotel room with the light switch to the bathroom located in the shower, then noticed the nice large urine stain located on the center of the hide a bed mattress, after that we noticed the lovely sticky texture of the carpet as well as the urine stain on the king size mattress sheets, then to top it all off the toilet stopped working. After finding all of this my wife and I were going to cancel our second night and just book somewhere else, but for the time being ee we're changed to a different room for the night that seemed MUCH better than the first and was actually clean and working, so we decided to keep our second night and stay. Things were pretty good until morning of checkout when I saw the lovely cockroach doing circles in the light fixture, as well as in the hallway on the fire extinguisher there was what appeared to be a bottle of urine sitting which remained there through our entire stay. I would 100% percent recommend you not stay here.Rooms: Rooms are gross, have roaches, large urine stains, weird / dangerous electricalNoteworthy details: Urine stained beds, cockroaches, sticky carpets, sticky chair arm rests, urine bottle just sitting out. DISGUSTING PLACE

I've stayed at 100's of properties, many of which were IHG. This one is definitely below average. The pluses: The front desk staff in the morning is great and they do a "light cleaning" everyday in the room. The dark side: The elevator is more than slow, it's archaic. Walking the stairs was always faster. The overall room lighting very poor, The perimeter lighting was useless and frequently malfunctioned. I complained to the front desk. It worked one day and started the strobe light stuff again the next day. The HVAC ran constantly. The room had two thermostats so I asked the front desk which one really works. The answer? "I don't know, just use both.."??? The TV was a total joke. Supposedly they just had it "upgraded" The channel list in the room no longer was correct and there was no replacement list. I asked the front how to find my favorite channels. Their answer? "Just keeping pressing the up button."??? Frequently the front entrance of the hotel was locked, no receptionist in site. I so MANY guests waiting a long time to check in. And of course my key didn't get me in the front door. I had to walk all way around the other side of the building to get in when the front door was "locked." The beds were OK and clean. Housekeeping did a nice job. BUT, for all the other reasons stated I will never stay at this property again. It is WELL BELOW the standards I've come to expect from an IHG property.

We checked in at 8p and staff on duty had little to no idea where we could get food delivered. Had us park in a place we would not fit with camper so parked on street. No coffee maker in room. Pool closed for maintenance. Ice machine out of order. Not the kind of Holiday Inn Express I'm used to staying at.

We had roaches in the bathroom. We reported it to the front desk who told us to check back at the desk before we returned to the room. I talked to the manager a little before noon when I returned. She said she had not looked into it yet. I don't think she ever did anything. There was no smell or indication of the room being sprayed or treated. The hotel was recently remodeled, but the build quality was very poor. For example, in the bathroom the new floor tile was applied over the old tile. There was no attempt to raise the drain to the new floor level. So there was a deep, sharp edge around the drain hole that was very uncomfortable to step on barefooted. Decorative wall panels were installed so they blocked electrical outlets. The plumbing was arranged to minimize installation cost rather than to create a good bathroom layout. I suspect the plumbing arrangement was part of the roach problem we saw.Nearby activities: It is close to the KU Medical center, but there are no entrances to the hospital on this side of the block. It is a very long walk around to the public entrance to the hospital. Every entrance on the hotel side of the hospital requires an employee access card.

We arrived an hour early and they were accommodating and allowed us to check in. customer service check-in was a breeze. The rooms are pretty dated but decent and clean. Set up and layout it’s just a little bit different from several other Holiday Inns I’ve used. Breakfast is great!

Business travel for 2 night. 1st night found 2 bug in room. Thought could be entered during cleaning. Killed both of them and throw it out and fall sleep. Next day they didnt care to change bedship and just fixed and walked away. After finishing work came back and saw. Reception just said sorry and hang up the phone. Terrible service. I do not recommend this property. Very poor quality of service. I wish there is negative rating than giving even 1star. Should be negative 5 star rating.

3 rooms were rented for myself and my guests. Their was no smoking in the rooms, yet they TRIED to charge me $750 in smoking fees. They had no evidence, and quickly reversed charges when confronted with a plan to report them to corporate. Will never again stay in this location.

I stayed here a couple days ago and I was debating if I was going to write a review but I received the WORST SERVICE the manager Debra has a disgusting racist attitude she was giving me dirty looks and I seen how she treated every body who didn't have my skin color she greeted them with "hi" or "hello" but when she she seen me she gave me nothing but dirty looks then had the nerve to ask me if I was guest when she was the one who checked me I DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel, I've stayed more once before and I've also had friends who have stayed multiple times the milk is always expired the breakfast is sometimes frozen in the middle or just nasty the cereal was stale my daughter got food poisoning eating their breakfast the rooms are decent but had a weird smell to it my air/heater wasn't working when I requested to change rooms they wouldn't let me and basically told me to deal with it the this whole experience at this hotel was horrible I will NEVER stay here again

The location was kind of odd to get to and not really near much that I could tell, but it felt safe and had plenty of parking. The building seems relatively new or recently updated and our room was clean and fantastically cold when we checked in well after midnight. My mom wasn't a fan of the mattress, but I quite liked it. I enjoyed the clothing hooks next to the wardrobe and my mom liked the backlit mirror over the sink. We were both pleased by the nearly total blackout blinds on the window, especially since our room faced the well-lit parking lot. Our two minor issues with the room were that the blinds had something on them and the chain pulls felt slightly sticky & that there wasn't a wastebasket under the sink. The staff we encountered were super friendly and helpful. The woman who checked us in well after midnight was very cheerful and efficient. The woman working the breakfast room was great; she was super friendly and checked ingredients on some of the food to make sure I could eat it (I have food allergies).Overall, I would definitely recommend this location to anyone visiting the KC area (we were there for The Chicks concert at the T-Mobile Center and the drive was quite reasonable) and will most likely stay there again.

Me and a co-worker stay here on a fairly often basis. The rooms are clean. The parking lot is both fenced in and well lit. The beds are some of the most comfortable among the chains that isn't the Hilton or the Marriott.

I can not say enough wonderful things about my stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites North Kansas City. I nearly got stranded at the Kansas City Airport. Due to a delayed flight, I got in after the rental car desks closed. It was around 2:00 am and I could not get transportation to my hotel in Overland Park. Luckily, I was able to get to the Holiday Inn Express and Suites. Hailey, the overnight desk agent was so kind, compassionate, and understanding of the terrible day of traveling I had. She got in me a suite where I could finally be safe and get some rest and the room was clean and comfortable. I was sitting in the lobby waiting for a ride back to the airport where I had the pleasure of seeing Debraj in action. She was sunshine in human form. I saw her interact with delivery drivers, guests, a gentleman asking about employment, and staff. She treated everyone with such kindness and genuine interest. While in the lobby, I looked up information on KMG Hotels, the group that owns the Holiday Inn Express & Suites North Kansas City. And ironically, I was traveling to try and get to my company's corporate office to give a presentation that involved how we demonstrate our company values. Interacting with Hailey and Debraj (and the café attendant, I am sorry I did not get her name), showed me exactly what the values KMG Hotels are - I did not even need to see them in writing. I truly felt it: To provide luxury and comfort beyond what is promised to our customers and also encourage a friendly, creative and a committed working environment for our employees.Thank you to Hailey, Debraj, and all the Holiday Inn Express & Suites North Kansas City staff for turning around a horrible traveling experience to end it on a positive note. KMG Hotels should be grateful for having such wonderful people on their team.

Next to a shipping yard. A few fast food places close by. Definitely need a car or car service to go somewhere. Didn't feel very safe alone, great rooms, great service. Same breakfast every single day... deal breaker for

Very nice hotel, the staff is friendly and professional. Older hotel near some industrial buildings but has been very well maintained and is quiet. Rooms are clean, and appliances look new. Has a nice indoor pool and walkable to a few restaurants and convenience stores.
