Yuri did an incredible job with my hair. She spent alot of time sectioning and blending, and was very detail oriented. Highly recommend!

My review is based on an experience that occurred in October of 2022. I realize I am late to post, but feel it is important to let other parents of kids with special needs aware of my experience so they can make an informed decision. I am not out to sabotage a small business, this was just my experience at the time.
I took my son who has sensory processing issues and simply does not tolerate haircuts well. It is very traumatic for the entire family when we take him to get a haircut. AmberSky promotes a sensory friendly environment with trained stylists who are patient and understanding. The stylist we had was so flustered cutting my son's hair. Her clear anxiety and agitation only made matters worse. Kids can sense frustration and anxiety. I totally understand how it can be super upsetting to have a kid screaming, crying and moving around, but then you should not be a hair stylist for children, especially those who have special needs. The staff at AmberSky acted like they had never seen such behavior and made us feel disgraced. Not to mention the gawking patrons not being told to mind their own business. It was the worst experience ever. Everyone made us feel ashamed for something my son cannot help. It would be one thing if I took him to a salon that was not geared for kids and claimed they specialized in haircuts for special needs kiddos, but they do!
UPDATE: The owner did reach out to me explaining that this stylist is no longer at the salon. She also explained that they have made extra efforts to educate and train stylists as well as provide tools for parents to help alleviate the stress of haircuts for kiddos. I appreciate the owner reaching out and acknowledging that there was an issue and they have made strides towards an improved experience over the past two years. I still believe it is important to leave this review as it is relevant to our experience.

Dusty was amazing for my 16month old’s first haircut!! Highly recommend. He was so patient and made my son feel extremely comfortable!

AmberSky is a cute and clean salon. We have visited three times for a toddler haircut on weekday mornings, and we have been the only client twice, which we enjoyed for the peace. I would recommend this salon for kids, especially Yuri, who has done great with my shy guy.

Great experience for our 14 month olds 1st haircut! I was very worried about how my toddler would react, but our stylist Dusty was very patient and calm. My baby took to him well (which he doesn’t do). Dusty was awesome and did a great job! Highly recommend him!

We had Dusty on our very first visit who did a super nice fade cut on my son’s hair, Dusty was super patient and kind, made my som feel very comfortable. Today we had Yuriko and she cut my daughter’s hair, she was so sweet, welcoming and made sure my daughter’s cut was great! Thank you both for making this a great experience.
