I had some time to burn at the airport. I came in and was greeted at a high top bar where a lady took my order. Just a sand-which and I asked for a beer. I asked if I could sit at the bar. She walked over with me. Served my beer to me and then shortly later my sandwich- in a Togo box. I asked for a napkin and a fork. She directed me to the grab and go station. Mind you- the place was empty and my hands were covered in with my pork sandwich. She could of gotten the fork and napkin, that would of been good customer service. She also asked for me to pay AND picked up the receipts before I was even finished. Customer service just isn't what it used to be.

What a neat concept! Made in Kansas City is a retail store that consists of different local vendors sharing a retail space. There you'll find anything from t-shirt, novelty coffee mugs and glasses to gift-able food items, wines, whiskey to artwork. Fun to browse and see all the different vendors. Products all made here locally in the Kansas City area.

In such a creative community as Kansas City, I expected more one-of-a-kind items instead of an upscale souvenir shop with lots of mass-produced things. Also, there were no products from iconic KC- (or nearby) made products such as Gates or Bryants or Joe's BBQ sauce or Topsy's Popcorn. My spouse sampled some spirits from the bar in the back and ended up buying some liquor but that was it.

I wish I could've bundled the store up and placed it in my pocket to take back to Indianapolis. What a treasure chest of locally made items. It was especially impressed by their displays and the all things Missouri bar featuring local spirits, beer, wine and mixers. What a fun and smart combination! You'll find everything from locally made honey and earrings to pickles and soaps. I thought the offerings covered a wide variety for all audiences and price points. I also loved seeing this store located in in an area that was inundated with chain businesses. This is a great model for other cities to replicate. Bravo to the folks and makers behind this business.

We are visiting friends from Leavenworth, and they brought us The Plaza. This store is so cool. If you're looking for some sort of souvenir, whether it be T-shirt, artwork, some sort of a locally distilled beverage. This is the place to come. All locally produced merchandise.

This is one of the best gift stores in Kansas City, full stop. First of all it's amazing that this store only carries items made here in town, and it's even better that the variety is so large you can always find something for anyone on your list. There is a small food and beverage area, some homegoods offerings, and of course a ton of KC themed apparel. This is the spot I visit whenever I need a gift for a gift exchange, a housewarming present, or just am in the area and want to pick up some local brews for a Friday night. To top it all off, they have a wonderful cafe in this store, the employees are always so friendly, and you can feel good about spending money here, knowing it stays in the community.

Sometimes patrons need to take a leak before they can comfortably shop. I encourage a rethink of the public restroom policy.

Great spot - I went to Made in KC this morning. The store had so many wonderful and unique items. I purchased two Kansas City T-Shirts.They are a coffee spot in the store. On the weekends, they have cereal milk lattes, which are phenomenal. Highly recommend trying a cereal milk latte. So unique and yummy! I also had two delicious protein balls. They were a mix of oats, peanut butter, and chocolate chips. The staff was friendly and helpful. They answered my many questions and always had a smile on their face. If you're a local or just visiting, this is a must.
