My wife and I traveled to KC for my birthday because I wanted to visit the museum and learn some history good and bad. This place is amazing it puts life in perspective. Love the truth. I have always said we need to do away with Black History and just tell true History because we are all over it in every aspect of the birth of America. This is a must visit place for all races and KC is a great host and have great people! Felt like home! I would love a bigger store it was a brown jacket with all the team patches but didn’t have a 2x and a baseball shirt that had all the teams but didn’t have my size either, hoping they show up on the website. The stories this place can tell are unbelievable. Can’t wait to go back!

This has been on my bucket list for a long time and I'm so glad I finally checked it off. It was great to see what they've done with the support they've had so far. I can't wait to see how incredible it will be when they get the support and space they deserve. Right now it's a bit cramped because they packed SO much into the little space they have. But when they grow you can already tell it's going to be incredible. Although I do wish they had more at the gift shop!

History? Yes!
Black History? Yes!
Baseball History? Yes!
I have visited this historic place twice now and both times, you will find every all types of people who love baseball walking this museum.
Grab a ticket and dedicate at least 30 minutes (it will be longer) to go through and see what these great men and women did to play the sport they loved.

Honored to learn the history of those that created opportunities and broke barriers for the generations that came behind them!

This isn't a common museum to visit, but it's a museum everybody should visit. They do a great job of presenting history, stories, and why they're important today. There's a ton of exhibits and memorabilia from even the 1800s. The short film narrated by James Earl Jones was a great intro to the museum. Plan to spend a couple of hours exploring if you read thoroughly, but only an hour if you want to browse. There's a gift shop and an exhibit of the Kansas City Monarchs for free before you enter. Parking is on the street.

Totally a super experience. A must for the baseball fan. We were fortunate to have the gentleman that was at the all star game and the round table talk on MLBNetwork talk to use. He is the one that started the entire project and was on the committee to get the stats intragrated with the MLB.

While not as interactive as some museums, the history and artifacts provide a riveting as well as sadly tragic and racist history of baseball. Take the time to read the display descriptions. The small ballfield with sculptures of some of the top African American ball players is neat.

Fantastic. Plan an hour for a quick walkthrough and a few of the videos. Unguided so young children can complete the museum faster if needed. Plan about 3 hours to read/ see/ watch everything. Limited street parking is available and achievable. There is a small gift shop in- site with memorabilia from authenticated to fun toys. It is a must do especially if you are touring all the MLB ballparks. You can easily go to this museum in the morning, take a tour of Royals stadium in the afternoon and catch a Royals game in the evening. I chose to split those up which was more relaxing especially in the hot days of summer.

Cool place. I enjoyed all of the features, the displays, and the videos. It was truly an experience. Be sure to clear your schedule for a few hours to get the full impact.

If you check my review history, you know I love baseball and go all over the country to watch baseball games. This place is a tribute to the segregated days and the stars of yesteryear that were forced to start and operate their own league. There is a lot of history packed into this small space.
It's not tiny, but it isn't Cooperstown. It will take roughly an hour to see everything, but like I said, there is a lot packed in here. I absolutely loved it.
If you love baseball get in here and check out the best black superstars of the past
