My new favorite store. I didn’t have a hobby and started researching about RC cars. After a few weeks of deliberation I went to the hobby store. I’m 43 and I instantly transformed back to my childhood. My eyes were gleaming with excitement. I had a price range and spoke to an employee. He helped me out and I purchased an Arrma Gorgon. Absolutely the best purchase I’ve made in a long time. It’s so much fun thrashing and bashing with this rig. The staff are super helpful and friendly. Ive been in several more times for new/better parts and what not. You can’t go wrong coming here. They have an extensive selection of hobbies and hobby supplies..

I hate to do this. But I have given ample time for help and have gotten literally no help or response. I don’t want to take anything from the guy that helped me on my initial visit. No issue with that. So, I made this purchase in store on 6-19. As stated below, I got a voicemail saying it should be in by end of June. Here we are almost to SEPTEMBER!! The times I’ve called up there the guy on the phone was kind of an a**. Which I don’t get the weird ego thing that a lot of people that work in these places carry. That’s why I hate going to any shop but was very happy with the original guy. Anyway, I decided to reach out to their customer/corporate chain via their website. I was as detailed as I could possibly be.
Just told them I can’t understand why there’s no info on this. They have zero lead time, they have nothing. You’d think by now, they’d have an idea. In my email, I told them I would like to cancel my order, and reimburse my payment for the truck, and then reimburse me for the gift cards I purchased for the truck. I told them after all this I’ve dealt with, that’s really not asking a whole lot. I sent this message on 8/17/24 and still have gotten no response from the support team. I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere. This would be completely different if I was made aware before my purchase. This in my opinion is 100% completely unacceptable.

Told my wife I wanted the Revo for father’s day. She called up to our HobbyTown and they didnt have any in stock. Which I understand that. Many people are buying electric and nitro isnt as popular any longer. But I still love it. Anyway, so she decides to buy me gift cards online and had to buy 5 seperate ones each for $100. So, I go to the hobby store after work and looked for a bit and its been a bit since I have been inside this specific store. But the gentlemen that was working that day was super curteous and didnt press me for nothing except the first initial, "Anything we can help you with". Its a big pet peeve of mine for sales places to continously bug at me while im just looking. So, I respected that.
So I placed my order in the store and one of the gift cards was faulty. It had several X's where the numbers should be. Definitely not the shops fault. But I did get a call after 5 or 6 days saying it was on backorder and they didnt catch it until the other day. But i was told shouldnt be longer than the end of June. So im not too concerned. Is what it is. Things happen.
Definitely reccomend going to this shop on N. Oak Trafficway in Kansas City. Good people there and friendly.

I purchased a 4tec Drift last Saturday & am impressed with it, but more so by the service I received. Top notch & Benji earned Hobby Town a new Customer. I'm glad I met him, plenty of knowledge & I'm probably gonna buy an airplane on my next trip

This is a great model shop. Tons of airplane, car and gundam kits in multiple scales. Tons of RC as well. As well as all the paints, weathering, and detail accessories you would need to complete your kit. Super helpful and friendly staff.

This place is pretty neat. Has lots of electric rc for hobbiests of all kinds. The young gentleman who helped me out was very helpful and knowledgeable. Would reccomend for anyone to visit and buy a loved one or yourself something.

Seeing that I am a newer nitro rc car hobbyist I have less knowledge as others, I have yet to be judged or looked down at, even been talked to as if I aggravated them with my questions. Hobbytown has yet to be anything but helpful and more than willing to answer any questions and even provide me with opinions and knowledge and advice! Very very helpful and extremely friendly people! Most definitely recommend hibbytown kansas city
