Just did my due diligence on a child we sponsored for over a year. As it turns out, the 10 year old we correspond with is actually 22 years old and says she works at SpongeBob SquarePants restaurant, The Crusty Crab. The saddest part is that we received the information about sponsorship at a Christian Concert.

I did a lot of research before choosing the CI organization to sponsor children through. Within the first few months, I learned that a child I was supposedly sponsoring was not actually in the program. Okay, things happen. However, as time went on, it became abundantly clear to me that letters from the four children I sponsored were offering conflicting information and reports, which I found confusing. The donations I sent - including 'special gifts' for birthdays and Christmas - appeared to be thrown into a general pot of money and distributed widely for household goods, etc - and did not appear to be used for special gifts for my sponsored children. For my 100.00 gifts, I was to receive personal letters from the children regarding what they received that they might love - that was unique and special to them - but this did not occur. I called CI several times and continuously had my concerns minimized or dismissed. I have no children of my own. It was important to me that I had some sort of REAL and authentic connection to the children I sponsor. This did not occur. I realize the pandemic caused difficulties, but I would have preferred to have been notified by CI regarding the fact my donations - including 'special gift' donations - would be thrown into a general pool of money that is used for all the children, and that the children I sponsored would not actually be receiving special gifts unique to them (I never once received a letter from my sponsored children regarding something special they received that was just for them for their birthday or Christmas - just canned, stock letters that they received food gifts, etc). I'm not financially well off, and without an authentic connection - and receiving what appeared to be 'canned' (stock) letters that at times offered conflicting information about the children I sponsored (e.g., sometimes they were attending a CI-sponsored school, yet another letter in the same time frame said they were home due to the pandemic) - the relationships I had been hoping to build with my sponsored children and their families were impossible to develop. Again, had there been full disclosure from CI about how my donations would be used, I might have continued to sponsor. As it is, with my observations and concerns being dismissed every time I sought to address it with CI staff, I am choosing to end my relationship with CI. Not the children - as I never had the opportunity to develop a real relationship with either one of them.

I Just wanted to say a big thank you to Mrs Linda james, she's genuine kindness and bluntness at times when I needed to face reality are what made me progress. I invested $5000 and got $46,700 in a week. I only wish I had known about you earlier from the first moment I decided to trade. Nevertheless, I am grateful! contact her via Email:

NO recommendation explanation: We support local businesses everywhere and we like small and big businesses too. This NO recommendation is our way of trying to educate every business that boosted FB ads must be done responsibly and properly. When any business does the following they need to know that it’s intrusive, irrelevant and unwanted and helps destroy the nature of a friendly platform for family and friends to communicate with one another. 1. Boosting ads outside of the market area in which they are relevant to users buying the products and services being offered. 2. Boosted ads in foreign languages from foreign Countries that users cannot read and or interpret. 3. Even local advertisers boosting ads must pay attention to how far they are going out and reaching and adjust the radius accordingly. Anything over 50 miles and or an hour or more drive away is inconsiderate unless you are willing to go out of your way to provide services to customers that far away. 4. Online businesses that offer services all over the Nation or World also need to use the FB boosting tools to narrow down who exactly sees the boosted ad. If I get a boosted ad for children’s products and I don’t have kids then I’m offended and the ad is improper. These simple steps regarding how to boost any advertising on social media should be the platforms responsibility to inform and enforce on their advertisers. You’d think that sites like FB wouldn’t want to ruin peoples experience and create hate and dissent from irresponsible advertisers. Furthermore, because FB is using a “recommendation” process with just a YES or a NO choice and nothing in between we apologize that our NO may hurt your feeling and your score but we’d be glad to amend our NO to a YES if you make a statement agreeing to become a responsible Advertiser and STOP boosting SPAM where it does NOT belong. Thank You for listening and learning and becoming a business that cares rather than just throwing your messaging out there irresponsibly. ???

Tener mucho cuidado a quien enviáis vuestro dinero . ¡ Poca transparencia!

The exploitation of the poor for the gain of the rich. I carefully reviewed this organisation. I looked at their programs and the impact they say they have and looked at what their leadership does and earns. It doesn't add up. Their leadership makes fortune. Their CEO, COO, and other higher-ups came from a failing company, Hallmark (the greeting card people). Children International doesn't appear to be making much difference to the population they say they serve, their income has fallen year after year but their upper management keeps earning more and more and more and more. This looks like a pyramid scheme where the people at the top make all the money, while the people at the bottom are exploited.

I have hosted a child for years here. I just recently was informed they don't have and don't offer spiritual education so I have children at Compassion International which feeds both the children's stomachs and souls. This is what I am looking for!

I have been a sponsor of Children International for more than 10 years. However, it is becoming extremely difficult to ensure that money sent directly to the sponsor children is reaching then. You have no way to get feedback directly from the children or their families. Feedback provided from Children International staff is not clear. The contribution statements sent are not up to date. Moreover, I found a report in the internet and saw the extremely high paid salaries of the CEO and those in charge. Thus, is our money going directly to the the children or to the CEO's salary? Should I do not get the information I requested to the Care Team Ambassador, I might stop my support to the 4 children I have since I would have no assurance that they are receiving the help they really need through my support.

I started sponsoring a child with an expectations of being able to form a meaningful relationship with the child and her family. The company makes money out of the promise of forming a bond between sponsor and a child, but this is just a gimmick. In real life, you will not be able to communicate directly - for the protection of the child. Why would someone that I donate my hard earned money to automatically assume I am a bad person / potentially dangerous?? Yet when they need to take my money then they do not need to run background checks etc. The paranoia around contacting the child goes so far that it is even stated on the website that the child will be expelled form the program if she/he contacts you directly. This only tells you how manipulative one organisation is. On one hand they are selling the image of meaningful relationship ( sponsorship shouldn't feel like cash cows) yet on other hand you are in fact completely meaningless to them to the point that it is impossible even to find out what CI programs the child is attending, etc. I have no idea where my money goes - and the answer "community center" or "educational and health programs" are too broad and general for my taste. I want to know exactly how the child is benefiting from my donation, yet nobody wants to provide details. I quit the sponsorship soon afterwards.

i really didn't appreciate the two persons coming at my frnt door and opening my private screen door and tried to open my front door (never rang the door bell, hte reason i know i have the ring and alarm system, and if they wouln't have left i was going to sound the alarm for them to get arrested for the simple reason they had no right to open the screen door , i was not home and the girl tried to open the regular door .by the time i reviewed the alarm they were leaving . by the way this was done in oldsmar fl.and the girl mentioned the name for the young man (justin) i don't appreciate it when nobody answers i think that means they don't want to be bottered.

Be careful with anyone approaching you in public about this organization. I received a link to sponsor a child. I did an independent verification of the link that was sent => "...here is your secure payment link..." (just noticed it's not secure at all

I would like to praise my association with Children International. I have sponsored four children in over twenty years. I have encouraged my mother and my son to sponsor as well. It is so rewarding to know that a donation of $20 a month has such a positive impact on their impoverished lives. I have received regular statements, photographs of my sponsored child, and letters and pictures they have drawn. They always convey such gratitude. I have been able to send money electronically to purchase beds, stoves of other things for their families. This is a charity highly rated on Charity Navigator that a high percent goes to the field to support the children. They receives medical attention, shoes, school supplies...I would encourage anyone to participate; for through global outreach we enrich our world society.

Was excited to help a small child. You can have no direct correspondence contact with child and family. They say everything has to go through them which makes me wonder who is getting rich off this scam. I'll take my money to big brothers/big sisters where I know I am making a difference in someone's life. Run away from this group.
