15619 Manchester Rd, Ellisville, MO 63011Allen's transmission 15619 .This transmission company replaced my father in laws transmission back in May and he had a warranty and in October the transmission failed due to builder error. Glenn who runs the front office has given the run around we dropped truck off Nov 17th. They never looked at it and refused to hold up the warranty. Yesterday we made the very long trip to get the truck. Glenn knew we were coming cause he charged the battery and aired up the tire. We had already met with an attorney before picking the truck up and Glenn refused to let us get the truck unless $400 was paid. Needless to say we had to pay cause cops wouldn't do anything. Glenn claims his boss just told him prior to us getting there that they were to charge storage fees of $30 a day. They were supposed to be repairing the transmission that they failed to fix properly and that has a warranty on it. Glenn also says he has to talk to his boss about everything but he refuses to tell us who his boss is so that we could resolve any of this. They are being sued and that's why they held the truck hostage for some money. They're terrible. There is no communication. They refuse to hold up their end of things. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone ever. And in their wrong doing they tried to use the excuse that the trucks been there since Nov 17th. Well no shit you're supposed to be fixing what y'all fucked up to begin with.. so warning stay away from Allen's transmission in Ellisville Missouri they're a rip off

Had transmission issues with my 2017 GMC Sierra, 67,000 miles, previously diagnosed by another vender. Allen Transmission rebuilt the truck's transmission in just a few days. The truck runs better and quieter than it did after it left the showroom floor in 2017. In addition the service was excellent., from the shop manager, Glenn, to the mechanics, all eager to answer my questions and concern.

WARNING! DO NOT USE THIS PLACe. if i could give negative stars i would. my son took his car here because meineke told him his transmission was slipping but they don't work on them. car sat here 4 days and was told my son needed a new transmission and it would cost $6700. when i asked if they had checked his transmission fluid first the response was "that wouldn't be the problem". so after the 4 day wait we decided to tow it to Honda to get their opinion. well guess what-not only did my son not need a new transmission one of the issues was that pressure from a clogged filtper had blown a cap off and because of that the car was 2 quarts low on transmission fluid. when i asked the mechanic if the transmission shop would have seen the missing cap he said that if they even looked at it they would have seen it as it was obvious to a mechanic. long story short, the problem was a clogged filter and low transmission fluid due to a leak from the cap not being on. if you have no other choice but to use this place and they tell you that you need a new transmission get a second opinion elsewhere. we are now out the money for a rental car while his car sat here and a towing charge. if a transmission shop doesn't even check the transmission fluid is a big red flag!

Replied at bottom. Paid $1600 for them to rip my truck apart and steal my transmission.Took my truck to the Ellisville location because it wouldn't shift. Paid the $1000 deposit for them to remove my transmission for further diagnosis. They quoted me extremely high prices for a rebuild or a new transmission. I declined the work and bought a transmission elsewhere. I needed my transmission back for the core. I was charged another $600 before they would let me have my vehicle. Then was told I should take my truck and just let them have my transmission since it was torn apart. I insisted on leaving my truck until my transmission was returned. It took a call to ATRA and their main office. When I called the main office the manager "wasn't in". Yet 30 min later I get a call my transmission is there. They gave me a random transmission all torn apart missing the data placards verifying my VIN and transmission info. I have no idea what was actually wrong with my transmission but it was good enough for them to keep and get every penny they could before releasing my torn apart truck...Yes I did have to repair my truck myself because I declined your prices. Why is the transmission you gave back missing the Data/VIN placard if it was mine? That was my original transmission. All transmissions have a VIN placard matching the vehicle it originated from.Service: Transmission

This was our second transmission with the shop. They completely don't return calls. Their estimates are way off what they actually charge at the end. Our most recent transmission with them my husband took his car in and they said it would be between $1000 and $1100. They kept the car over three weeks. We called constantly we drove by it was outside they kept telling us they were working on it, but there was no evidence of that as it was sitting in the parking lot. Did they called us and said it was ready to pick up and it was going to be $4400. When we got there they actually charged and $5800. We could've bought a car! and still the car doesn't feel like it's shifting great. It feels like it's shifting hard.

On August 22nd, I brought my truck to Allen Transmission on Manchester Road. It was drivable but had high miles and Glen recommended the transmission be rebuilt. He quoted an estimate of $3000. I did not get my truck back till September 27th and the total cost was $5400. Part of the delay was due to a two-week backorder on a part but there were multiple promises made that the truck would be ready on a certain day and the actual time day would be weeks later. On October 25th, the transmission failed to go into 5th gear and threw a CEL. I brought the truck back to Allen Transmission and did not get the truck back till November 22nd with no delays for backorders. The final straw was when Glen told me the truck would be finished on Friday 19th and I made plans around that. When I arrived at the shop to pick up the truck Friday afternoon, work had not been started on the truck. Glen refused to apologize or connect me to his manager. The truck’s transmission is still not perfect as it knocks going from 1st to 2nd gear. 66 days, $5400, no opportunity to speak to management, no apology, and still not done correctly.

Very professional management and mechanics, they explained all the options in detail. I couldn’t get over how they treated my vehicles situation as if it was theirs and more than anything how they tried to save me money whenever possible. This was my first visit/experience with them and I will definitely return!Services: Transmission

My granddaughter recently drove my car and experienced a perplexing issue with the transmission. We had the car towed home. After a short test drive showed no issues, I drove the vehicle to Allen Transmission Ellisville for a professional diagnosis. The result was that the transmission was preforming and driving correctly, and that the issue could have been operator error. I later tested the "operator error" scenario, and exactly reproduced the complaint. My family learned from this incident, and the total cost to me was $0.00.Service: Transmission

This is absolutely a wonderful transmission shop. They took great care of my fiance's replacement transmission radiator and transmission rebuild. They were very kind, professional, and patient. Absolutely recomend to anyone. They followed up as well to make sure no problems were experienced afterwards.
