So I have a 69 el camino I put a 5.3 engine in the car. My plan was to put a modern 4l80e 4 speed overdrive transmission in. I did my research to see what was needed for my application. Bought the correct crossmember to adapt a 4l80e in my car. Went with a specific tcm,( transmission control module) that was also recommended by the car community. Larrys was recommended by a friends friend so I called them and told them what I was wanting to do. They said they had swapped 4l80e's into multiple old cars no problem. I asked if they were familiar with the tcm, US shift quick4, I had and if they could program it. They said that was no issue. I also asked if they would be able to make the shift linkage work. They assured me turn key result. I got my car back and my speedometer did not work. I had given them the wiring diagram on how it needed to be wired. I found the harness coiled up behind my brake booster not even plugged in. They did not wire my tcm correctly even though they had the manual which cleary states how to install and wire. It was not grounded correctly and they did not use the tps adapter that was provided in the kit. The shift linkage they built was extremely poor and would not allow the trans to shift all the way down to 1st gear as it was contacting the firewall. The pump was leaking so I took it back and after a week they said they couldn't find or see a leak, its still leaking. The car also won't downshift for passing gear. The trans housing had also been cracked at some point in its life and has been poorly welded back together. Most recent it has started shifting hard into 3rd and 4th. We had a trip in June and I called them to address the problems several weeks before the trip. They had given me a 2 year warranty. Larry cussed me out over the phone and told me my car was a piece of sh¡t and would never work on it again. He said they busted the first trans housing they installed blaming it on my engine setting too high but it uses factory motor mounts. He told me my pinion angle on the axle was wrong which he never mentioned to me during the install so was news to me. Called me every name under the sun But I had never been cussed at by a business owner like that in my life. Larrys son Scott is an extremely nice guy but his dad is the most unprofessional person I ever met and unfortunately I believe has tought his son bad shortcut practices.

I got a rebuilt 4L80E from them a few weeks ago. Git it installed and test drove it, no 4th gear. Figured it might something on end because , you know, rebuilt transmission, nothing should be wrong with it. Swapped the speed sensors and still no 4th gear. Checked everything I could think of and it all looked good. Searched on YouTube for some answers and I found a guy with my same issue. Pulled the internal wiring harness plug out and it was soaked in transmission fluid. Just got the pan dropped and pulled the internal wiring harness out and what do I find? It was filled with sealant inside and out. Spoiler alert, it didn't seal. So now I have a new one on order to hopefully fix what these jokers obviously couldn't. $25 part on amazon. I would give no stars if I could. Hopefully this is the only thing they took a shortcut on.

Chris rebuilt my 4L60, upgrading it with a Corvette servo, light shift kit and a larger transmission cooler mounted to the front of the radiator. My transmission runs cooler and hasn’t given me any troubles ever since, this has been over 2 years ago. I still send people to Chris & Larry for their transmission needs whether they are daily drivers, race cars or heavy haulers, if they rebuild it, it’s fixed right.

I've dealt with many transmission builders over the years and have had some good and a lot of bad. I am a 5 hour drive from this shop but it's the only one I'll be going to from here on our. He has went above and beyond on my builds and stands behind his product. You will not go wrong with this shop they're the best.

We have some awesome customers and appreciate them very much. We warranty our work and have proof of such when needed. We will not warranty a transmission we sell without using a new torque converter. Per customer that couoinsta a turbo 350 correctly. Then we have Brian Bauer. He is demanding money back from three jobs that were perfect. All because I hurt his feelings telling him how unhappy and disrespected I felt. He then goes home and sends wife after transmission later in day. At which point she tried shortening me by 200.00. After she gets home he calls threatening me first offering 1000 to fight my old 66 year old body with stage 4 cancer. Lol. What a guy. Then he tried extortion by demanding his money back going three years. Lol or he was turning us into irs. Lol. We have all license , tax I’d numbers including EIN and sales tax number. So this idol threat did not go his way. So then we have the big one. So Landon jetmond brings back a ford pickup after several months with no reverse. We pull trans. And I notice paint all over filthy case. We have a 10,000 dollar case washer. Our work doesn’t leave like this. Also I noticed paint lines on all bolts going from pan to case at that point we stopped. This is not one of our units. In 49 years of building we have never used paint pins. But salvage yards sure do ! We include a warranty sheet that is signed by the customer and they are also given one. Things brake and crap happens. And we stand behind those things. But the customer has the duty to be honest and when needed install the product professionally instead of cutting corners with old converters and such. We so appreciate our wonderful customers that are a treat to serve

Couldnt get a simple th400 rebuilt correctly i returned 2 of them and the 3rd actually worked but didn't last but a couple drives before it lost 3rd. yeah they warranty it but at $100 in fluid and me doing all the install and removal plus having to drive back and forth while they practice rebuilding transmissions then they told me to bring truck to them no way am I gonna let them touch my truck I asked for my money back but they dont do business that way I guess rather me leave a bad review well I'm out a $1000 don't trust them
