I moved here from Mobile, AL recently and completed my annual exams with my doctor's in Mobile, AL before my move. I was given a new prescription from doctor in Mobile and had him to hand write it so there would be no trouble getting it filled when I moved. I have used Walgreen's in Mobile, AL for over 30 years and when I moved Walgreen's in Columbia did an auto refill on two of my previous meds after I had changed my resident address. When I went to pick up the auto refills I tried to drop off the hand written prescription from my doctor and was told that Walgreen's could not fill that prescription because it was out of their "mileage range". ???????? I have never heard of such a thing in my life. I asked what did people do when they went to New Orleans and came back with prescriptions and was told that New Orleans was closer than Mobile and they filled those prescriptions. Per google it is 113.11 miles in the SE direction from Columbia to Mobile ( 132 miles traveling Hwy 98 East) and 117 miles from Columbia to New Orleans. I guess Walgreen's mileage limit must be 120/125 miles. This is most ridiculous since Mobile is the nearest burn unit around (USA Medical). I have taken my hand written prescription and transferred all of my other prescriptions on file from Walgreen's to a local pharmacy which gave me no issue at all filling my hand written prescription. I will not frequent Walgreen's Pharmacy anymore. So much red tape with them about cross stateline prescriptions it's crazy.

Complete incompetence and/or concern for the prescription customers. Every month I get the same prescriptions filled for Narcolepsy. Almost every time I have to wait days to get my refill. I've tried to let them know a few days before it's due since they can't seem to order according to when they will need to refill medications. They still can't seem to get it right. I am pulling all my prescriptions and my family's prescriptions from them. I have a business that I own and I must have my medication to function properly. Thank god I don't need it to live because these people would let you die. I get so angry every month at the total absurdity of it all. It is truly pathetic.

Walgreens has lied to me on multiple occasions. I’m a transplant patient and I take drugs to ensure that organ rejection does not happen. I told the pharmacy specifically that this medication is not optional, it must be filled every month on time, and they indicated they understood. When refill time came, not only did they say they were “out of stock”, that was ALSO a lie. They did in fact have twelve doses of the medication on hand - they were just too lazy to do a partial fill on a medication that I have to either take or I will die. The only way I caught their lie was by calling another walgreens, which called them, and they actually divulged what they had on hand. They literally were so lazy and negligent that they risked a patient’s life rather than do their job.I’m on another medication which requires prior authorization. The way this is supposed to work is that walgreens receives the prescription, insurance will say it requires prior authorization, and then walgreens must use an online system to request authorization. There is no faxing or paperwork involved, it is all online, and walgreens MUST initiate the process. The first time I had it filled, they told me about the prior authorization and said they already started it. Several calls later I found out that neither my insurance nor provider had received anything in that online system, so in fact nothing had been done at all. I called walgreens back and asked them if they would please do this again on the chance that it might not have gone through somehow, at which point the woman said she would send the fax again. I told her there is no reason to send any fax, faxing anyone will not help, this is all done online through this system. She indicated she understood and had already done it but she would check and resend it just in case. Two days later I had to pay out of pocket to get my medication because still no one had received any request for the ePA (electronic prior authorization). Walgreens said in the future that it should be no issue but that prior authorization can take two days so wait two days once they receive the prescription. The next month I go to the doctor, receive my prescription, and it is sent to Walgreens. In the app it says the pharmacist is reviewing the prescription, no action is needed. To me it seemed like they were handling the ePA process like they said they would. I receive a notification saying it is ready and the price is dependent on insurance (not a dollar amount like there was before when the ePA wasn’t done), so I go to pick it up.At pickup, I’m informed again that the medication requires prior authorization. I questioned what they had been doing for the past two days. They said “it wasn’t due yet”. Well now it is and you had time to get the authorization you needed, so why didn’t you do that? “We have to fax” no, stop right there, I told you last time there’s nothing to fax. So what you’re telling me is that again, for the second time in a row, you haven’t done your job even though you’ve had plenty of time to do it. And now the weekend is here, so there is no way to get this done in a timely manner because the doctor is closed on weekends and so are other pharmacies. What’s more, they won’t take goodrx for the medication even though there is no official Walgreens policy saying they can’t. That was their own arbitrary decision. They also won’t do a partial fill of the medication because my insurance WILL immediately cover a seven day supply but longer requires authorization. So even though it’s their mistake that’s causing me to be without medication I need to live and function normally, they won’t even do the partial fill and then fill the rest once the ePA is finished.Walgreens is inept. Their practices as a company are morally indefensible. Their staff are negligible, poorly educated/trained, and rude. I urge you to find a locally owned pharmacy and do business with them instead. I would grant zero stars if it were possible. I’m disgusted at the way they treat their customers.

The lady at the front of the store was extremely rude! Uncalled for! Especially when folks come in sick. They had MARS candy 4 for $5. She said we couldn’t mix and match. Went to another location & they said we could mix & match. I asked her which way to put my debit card in & she informed me wrong. Apparently, the cashier does NOT have the personality to deal with customers, no people skills at all. RUDE, RUDE

This is legitimately the slowest pharmacy drive-thru I've ever been to. It's at least 45 minutes everytime. HOW is this possible?

My experience with using the pharmacy for about 8 years has been rough. That is,until Lane started working there. She is very smart and a quick problem solver. I, as a previous business owner , know how important employees like her are!
