I've been having difficulty working with St. Croix Cleaners to get my dress ready for my wedding day.
I originally took my dress here based on a reccomendation from the person who did my alterations. I wasn't at the drop off but my mother in law was quoted $149.99 for the cleaning.
My dress was steamed and I picked it up on 10/5. The cost of this service jumped up to $166 when I picked it up. Not only that, but the person who retrieved my dress *dragged* it over their shoulder all the way up to the counter. Sure, it's in a plastic bag but this clearly illustrates the level of care they give to wedding dresses. I got my dress home and hung it from a hook in the ceiling in a room behind a closed door. Upon closer inspection, I began to notice stains and imperfections on the dress.
I contacted St. Croix Cleaners on 10/8 and was told to bring my dress back in. Once I brought it in, I was reassured that the stains would come out, I could have my dress re steamed to eliminate wrinkles that came up during the spot cleaning, and I would be contacted with a price quote within the hour. Fifteen minutes after I left the store, I was called and told one of the stains could not be removed but the rest of the stains were pet hairs (I don't have a pet?). I asked how long it would take for them to complete what we discussed and I was told "I can have it ready in 30 minutes". That timing seemed oddly quick for pressing the dress. When I asked about the pressing to get rid of the wrinkles (that I was assured would happen when I was in the store), the associate sighed and said she could make a new ticket for me then spoke to someone in the background and said "how late can you pick it up". So now we've settled on the Wednesday before my wedding for me to retrieve my dress. I am hoping that more care is put into the handling of my dress this time than was previously. The cost of this new service is $219, which is odd because the original steaming service was $166 and they're claiming that I'm not being charged full price for the second pressing.
I brought my dress here because I thought I was paying a premium price for a premium service. But after seeing how the staff has handled my dress (dragging it across the floor), I'm just hopping that I receive my dress back in one piece and that my big day is not ruined. It's so scary to leave such an important item in the hands of people who don't appear to care about it.
If you're a bride and you're considering taking your dress here, DON'T. Explore other options.

On the laundry mat side there were a couple of old women (employees) one evidently didn't like the way my boyfriend was putting the quarters in their junky machines that you have to fight with to get it to take your money, she has no customer service or people skills at all, rudely walked up to us and because she works there I guess she has the right to question if you know how to put coins in the machine, said she works there to which we said is there a truck you know she said no but I work here, when we were finishing folding our laundry and the same old lady stared at us while talking about us to her coworker, I told them both they really shouldn't talk about customers when they are right there and can hear you, they are not the "friendly" place they claim to be. Also the lint screens in the dryers never get cleaned we actually pull it out and clean it every time. We will be finding another place to do our laundry going forward I will not give them one more quarter. If I could give it zero stars I would. Hire someone to clean the place after it closes at 11pm my gosh have some pride in your business and the community you serve

I accidentally spilled gasoline on a wool coat and didn’t think I’d have much luck getting the smell out. Thankfully St. Croix cleaners completely removed the smell!

Just started using them recently and have been impressed with their work on cleaning and alterations/repairs. Cost on a few things was higher than expected, but that's on me for not verifying the price before requesting the work.

When we first moved to Minnesota, we stumbled upon this location and they had great hours as well as a 24-hour dropbox, so we tried them out. Not cheap, but so friendly and communicative and top-notch quality. And then we received a hand-written thank-you card from Heather O'Gara and her team with a coupon in it! So we brought in more cleaning and had another fantastic experience. They even called when they saw a seam separating in a suit coat and offered to mend it for only $15. St. Croix at 5843 Neal Ave N. is now the only place I ever want to take my cleaning!

So many years have gone by since I have used St. Croix Cleaners and have never been disappointed in the service or the product. Always friendly people and Angie at the Stillwater store of course has been the absolute best. I would highly recommend them in cleaning and their tailoring skills.

This review is in regard to the laundromat side of the business. What a dump. Owner has never taken any effort to actually “clean” the place on a regular basis. Just blames it all on his customers. I’ve been in there multiple times (no longer going to patronize this place though). Have had to pull dispenser drawers due to caked-on and never cleaned residual soap from them on a constant basis. 2 weeks ago, I cut my thumb on a screw that was sticking out of a horizontal gusset on one of the basket racks. I pushed it way out of the way so no one else cut themselves. It was obviously installed long ago simply from stupidity, ineptness and disregard for common sense. Also, a month prior to that, I brought-up the fact that one of the oversized dryer coin mechanisms had another razor sharp screw protruding from the front panel (right where you drop coins in!). Nothing was done. When I called some “Director of Operations” (likely a fake title), he asked for pictures. I sent those to him and nothing has happened. Oh but he told me the owner would send me $100 for my “inconvenience”. I told him I wasn’t interested in extorting money from him so owner can keep it. I walked in 10 days after our dead-end conversation and what did I see? Refer to the photo of the coin mechanism. No change. Today, I was in to wash a large sleeping bag and the sparkling detergent dispenser on the industrial washer was beyond terrible. It’s amazing that such a nice area of the cities has two businesses that are so run-down. Fortunately, the other business (car wash) was purchased by a younger guy that actually wants to run a business rather than just drag it into the ground. Had it not been for the dry cleaner gals being so helpful, I’d never have returned to this dump. Lastly, fire your moronic “maintenance” goof. He’s as pathetic as the owner.
