The car was great. It was clean. The only down side to the experience was that the agent at the counter when we picked up the car was incredibly abrasive.

Terrible. Same as the others. If you are not going to have your Terminal 2 location open then you need to tell people instead of making them schlep miles with all their bags to wait in a line with workers who are in no hurry. It's not like MSP is a small airport. Now I literally have to build in an extra half hour for my 6 am flight just to return a car to an entirely different terminal. This is my second rental with Thrifty and both experiences were horrible. I will rent elsewhere moving forward. I don't even care how much it costs.

After seeing I got Thrifty as the rental vendor through Priceline I looked up the reviews on Google Maps and I was a bit anxious about whether I’d have a car available when I went to pick it up. As it turns out the many 1 star reviews on Google Maps are justified. When I arrived at the car rental area the line for Thrifty was extending past the normal queue sections, much like many of the pictures posted on Google Maps. There were two attendants and each customer was taking a VERY long time to process. As I got closer to my turn I could hear the reason why things were taking so long. They didn’t have cars available and were asking if people could take different types of cars, or if they just wanted to cancel their reservation. When it was my turn I had spent 45min-1hr waiting in line. My pickup time was 3PM and I didn’t get to the counter until just before 4PM. I was told my car was not ready and they asked if I wanted to keep my reservation and wait for the next car, or if I’d like to cancel. I was not about to pay nearly double for a last minute same day rental at another vendor, so I told her I would wait. It was not until 2 hours past my rental around 5PM that I got the keys to my car. For some perspective my flight from Phoenix to Minneapolis was 2.5 hrs. My wait for my car past my pickup time was nearly long enough for me to fly back to Phoenix. The last thing you want after a flight is to have to wait around, held hostage by the rental company. The entire lobby area by the Thrifty counter was filled with upset people just waiting for their name to be called. This Thrifty location is obviously understaffed and overbooks their rentals. I will NEVER use Priceline deals that would include Thrifty as a possible car rental vendor.Note to Owner: Don’t respond with empty promises to forward the feedback to local management. It is obvious that the chances are VERY HIGH that you will encounter long waits and your car will not be available at this site. It is a combination of poor management and taking on bookings that are booked way too tight in order to maximize profits. This hurts the customer, and the company name. It could be that Thrifty is great everywhere else by MSP, but this experience has created a lifelong hatred of Thrifty and I will warn people I know to stay away if they value their time.If you value the customer, make the regional manager read every single review of this location and come up with an action plan to avoid the issues with long lines and overbooking. That should be executed by local management, because obviously they are incapable of addressing this problem that has been going on for 2+ years.

Absolute scam, they will try to charge you for gas even if you return the car with a full tank. They want to make it as difficult as possible for you to contend

They Double booked our coverage and we are trying to resolve it. Thrifty says to contact the airport rental car department (they also gave me a disconnected number) and the airport says to contact Thrifty. NO ONE IS WILLING TO HELP. They are unable to stand behind their mistakes and help resolve it. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER, PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THEM

WORST RENTAL EXPERIENCE!! Waited an hour in line for them to tell us it was over an hour to get a car. We reserved this car months ago. I called customer service to see what the issue was they told they had no information and all they could do is cancel our reservation. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!

Had a confirmed reservation for a 5pm pick-up. I arrived at the counter, and agent told me that no cars were available and he didn’t know when they would be. He told me that the company and executives sitting at home “didn’t plan for the MN state fair or a big sports tournament”— neither of which are problems the customer is responsible for solving. When I then decided to cancel my reservation and ask for a receipt of the cancellation seeing as $372 had been charged/held on my credit card, I was told: “we don’t provide receipts. The manager takes care of it at end of night”.There were dozens of other irritated customers in the same situation. I do not recommend Thrifty. Avoid if at all possible.

Good afternoon. I rented a car from Thrifty, and the car smelled like smoke which I complained about immediately, and no one got back to me regarding returning my requested vehicle. Then I waived car insurance, and they still charged me for it.I will be taking legal action because this doesn't seem right.

Opens at 6am but it’s 6:15am right now and no staff member in sight. We were also told to bring the car back with an empty tank, which we did. We just received a receipt urging us to pay for gas. There’s a lot of hidden costs using Thrifty so I absolutely don’t recommend them at all! Never again.

I'm only giving one star because I have to. It was a terrible experience and I will never attempt to rent from them again. When we arrived, there was a wait in line. Once we got to the agent, we were told there would be a wait for your vehicle. They were understaffed with people who could clean the cars and turn them around. I quickly realized there were probably 15 parties waiting on cars. One guy showed me a picture of the garage and said there are no cars down there. So while they were supposedly waiting on people to return cars and have them cleaned up, there literally were no cars and we were all waiting for nothing. After talking to the agent again and asking if it was true, he admitted it was BUT he had an electric Volvo he would give me and proceeded to try and sell me on an electric car. I didn't want the hassle of charging an electric car for an entire week and trying to find charging stations when needed. He said are you turning down this option? I said I guess I am and he wrote a big C for cancelled on the front of my rental agreement. No apology for the HUGE inconvenience. No apology for several hours wasted. They should be embarrassed to open their doors. Will never use them.

Why does it take 15-20+ minutes to check in with Thrifty and get your car assigned?Have the Executives of this company ever investigated then fixed why Thrifty/Dollar is so slow to check in?You might actually keep or get new customers...

Terrible!Yeah, zero stars if I could.Midnight arrival in Minneapolis. Called Thrifty 800 (no phone for Minneapolis desk available), and asked if they would be there when we arrived. Was assured that "yes, they would be there".They were not there. I had to rent a car for one day from Enterprise (who were open 24/7), for $185.00, and then come back to pick up car from Thrifty next day.Once trip was over, a call to Thrifty ended up with the expected result (Call Priceline, it's their "responsibility"). It's not Priceline's responsibility to ensure a Thrifty counter is open in Minneapolis. Terrible, terrible, terrible experience. Never rent from Thrifty again. And what was I thinking that I rented through Priceline...???

Why bother booking a car months ahead of time? Had to wait almost 2 hours to get assigned a car upon arrival. Terrible service and ridiculous way to do business. We will never use Thrifty again.

After landing at terminal 2 at msp we had to walk to rental car just to see they weren’t open at 330pm on a Saturday. Having to walk all the way back and wait 20 mins for a train to take us to the next terminal to stand in line for 20 mins to take 1 of the 2 employees then sit and wait longer for a car to be available…… 15 computers and 2 locations with 2 employees absolutely a garbage company…. O stars do not recommend!!!
