I've visited this opal store a few times over the years, and had great conversations with the owner, who is extremely knowledgeable and has very high quality stones & jewelry. You can tell he's the real deal. I haven't bought my first opal yet, but this is definitely where I'll come when I do. Beautiful stuff!

The Internet is omnipresent and affects our lives like no other medium. However, there are still those moments when it can be something special: on the one hand, you can search for something and you find wonderful things that you otherwise wouldn't have found in any store in your closer area. On the other hand - and in my eyes this is the most valuable quality of the internet - you can also meet wonderful people you probably would never have met in person in your life. At AUSTRALIAN OPALS both came together for me, and for that I am very grateful: I found here an incredibly beautiful bracelet for my wife, and also I had the chance to meet John Korman, who is simply a great and honest person. Thank you John for this unique, incomparable and trustful shopping experience. It will definitely not be the last time that we are in contact and I wish you many more happy customers.

All of my experiences with Australian Opals have been excellent. The products are amazing, the selection is always amazing and the customer service can't be beat. John and his team will always go the extra mile to make sure that you are satisfied. The opal jewelry I have purchased is so stunning, it is some of my favorite pieces of jewelry that I own. I enjoy the natural beauty of opals and the rainbow of colors available, so I always make it a point to check out Australian Opal Guy when they’re in town. John is attentive and showed me a variety of bracelets that was not on display. (So do ask if they have more inventory!) I love the variety of settings AOG provides. Happy to have picked up a beautiful Ethiopian Opal set on a 2-tone cuff bracelet this weekend. It’s definitely something I’ll wear regularly.

I was walking in harmar mall when I stumbled across the Australian opals kiosk. I happened to be looking for a present for my daughters birthday, and saw the many beautiful gorgeous rings and earrings he had available. I ended up purchasing a beautiful ring and my daughter is obsessed with it. I am so happy to have found this place I will defiantly be a longtime customer.

I have several lovely opals from Australian Opals, which have been set into earrings, pendants and a ring. Opals need TLC. I dropped my ring onto a wood floor and it chipped....my accident! I got it repaired by Australian Opals, at a relatively small fee. Highly recommend.Note: Don't drop your opals into jewelry cleaner! Remember, they are fragile and need gentle care.

(It is seriously hard to photograph gemstones... the pictures don't do them justice, but I did my best)My girlfriend absolutely loves opals, and had found this business on the internet. One weekend she saw they were having a show at the local mall, so we went to check it out. Both of us were impressed at the selection, and after spending a few hours with John (the owner), we left that day with a pair of beautiful 2.33ct crystal opals for a fair price. We eventually contacted John again, wanting to create a custom engagement ring with one of the stones. When he says he works with a highly-skilled goldsmith, he isn't kidding; it turned out better than I could have ever hoped.We started with a general idea of a bezel setting with accent stones on either side, with 18K white gold as the metal. He gave some suggestions, and we chose the size and type of accent stones. He had a 3D model made for us, and we gave our feedback, which was then used to create a wax model that we inspected and approved in-person. A couple weeks later, I had the finished product, which came in a small velvet box that's perfect for popping the question. Through the entire process, all our calls or emails were answered within a day, and unless we were asking something that only his goldsmith would know, he could immediately answer any question. Also, if you don't have a jewelry cloth already, I recommend you buy the one he offers.Lastly, he offers an excellent jewelry protection plan through a third party, which I highly recommend. It gives you lifetime coverage for nearly everything that can happen to a ring, including a damaged center stone.

John has always assured us of the quality of the items and goes out of his way to insure that we are pleased with our purchase including making any adjustments needed like size. Service has been great and we have purchased rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces from him over the years. Great person to do business with and Australian Opals are of the highest quality.
