We needed to hire movers at the last minute to move my brother and his family to Rochester, and I couldn't believe my luck that not only Matt's had openings, but they were so friendly and helpful when I called. It was a wonderful first impression! When it came to the move itself, the crew we had was amazing!! I can't speak highly enough of them! They were efficient, friendly, professional and I would hire them again in a minute! They helped us move on the hottest day of the year yet and they did not complain once! They maintained a cheerful demeanor and helpful attitude. It was just wonderful! (The last movers I used (from another company!) in the cities were high, sluggish and not as helpful!)I've already referred Matt's Moving to another family member who will be moving soon!Services: Oversized item removals

Was quoted $519.00 to have three guys move a couch, a recliner, 2 end tables and a sofa table. Moving from a basement to a split entry. Houses are only 6 miles apart.

Our move was scheduled to start at 10:00 am on a Saturday morning. The night before our move, in January in Minnesota, we got 8-10 inches of snow. The movers were coming to our town from 30 miles away. We were advised at 9:30 am that the movers and truck would be 1 hour late, arriving at 11:00 am. They stated they were having engine trouble and the truck wouldn't start. We understood, this is cold MN in the winter. We agreed this was fair, knowing the road conditions would improve also in another hour. 11:00 am rolled around...no movers. We called customer service. We ended up being told they would arrive at 12:00 pm. This was starting to press our timeline, as we were supposed to be out of the house by 3:00 pm. We reluctantly agreed, what else could we do? Well, 12:00 pm rolled around...still no movers. We called again. My husband ended up in a heated discussion with customer service. We were told they would call us back... they crew was still figuring out their engine issues. At this point, I offered to drive to Rochester to rent a U-Haul if the moving crew would just show up at my house in whatever vehicle they could to load said truck. Customer service told me that wasn't necessary. (Boy, were they wrong!). We went around and around with customer service 3 or 4 times. Eventually we were told that they were sending a completely different truck and crew from the Twin Cities and they would arrive by 4:00 pm. 4:00 pm?!? We were supposed to be out of our house at 3:00 pm! Well, one thing let to another and we moved what we could in our own vehicles...we had already wasted all morning waiting on the crew, we didn't want to waste the whole afternoon as well! Come a few minutes before 4:00 pm, the truck showed up. These guys, by no fault of their own, were already tired. They said they'd already done a full move in the Twin Cities that day and then got sent to our house. Seriously?! I hope they got a huge bonus! Bless their hearts, they worked their butts off!! BUT... we didn't get out of the first house until almost 7:00 pm and didn't get moved into the new house (7 city blocks away) until after 9:00 pm...we were supposed to be done by 4:00 pm! I was in tears, my husband was beyond upset. This was supposed to be a happy, carefree, easy move for us! I called customer service on Monday and asked how they were going to make this right, as customer service on Saturday told us there would be a "significant decrease in the amount due". Well, our bank account got charged the entire $750. When I spoke with the person who could "make it right" they offered me a 5% refund, then a 10% refund, and then settled on their "best offer" of a $100 refund. I took the $100, hoping for no more whammies! Long story short, I can't say I would ever recommend this company. I was not pleased with anything but how hard their crew worked, once they finally arrived. But, I suppose we'll always be able to hold onto the memories of what a nightmare this move was... and hopefully someday we can laugh about it!

I need to find a moving company for my grandma who is moving from Rochester to Minneapolis. As a seventy-five year old lady, she has no idea what to do since she hadn't move in fifty-four years. I gave Matt a call, and he was the nicest guy that I ever met. He was polite, gave me a good quote, and explained the best way to work with my grandma since she lived all alone. I signed the contract, and explained the whole situation to her. Matt and his team came to my grandma's house, and loaded all the items in the truck. Being in California, I was on the phone with my grandma to make sure that the whole process was going well. What stuck out to me about Matt's company is that my grandma was nervous since she didn't know Matt, and hadn't eaten all day. Matt went out of his way to get my grandma some food. Thank you Matt for being so polite, and taking care of my grandma throughout the whole process.

We recently relocated to Arizona from Minnesota. One of our main priorities was to find a company to help move all our belongings across the country. It was a difficult task to find a moving company that didn't seem as if they were going to try to get us with hidden contracts. Matt explained the whole process and it was straight-forward. We signed with Matt's moving and everything went according to plan. All of our items ended up in our new place in Mesa.

We booked our move out of the St. Paul office, but one of the crew leads (Matt) brought his truck up from the Rochester location to be the second half of both of our moves. So I wanted to share the review I gave the St. Paul location here, as Matt was crucial to the success of our move: --------------------------------------------- We used Matt's moving for two moves as our new house was still being built when we moved from our old house. The first move was from our old house to a storage unit. The second move was from the storage unit to our new house. I was 100% pleased after the first move, but waited until the second was complete before submitting a review. We had the same crew leads (Matt and Danny) for both moves, using 5 total guys and 2 trucks the first time, and 4 guys with 2 trucks the second time. I highly recommend two trucks as the guys can pack them faster and looser without having to plan every single piece going in. The team was fabulous at the old house, quick and out of there in 1.5 hours. Then at the storage unit they really took it to the next level. We had two lockers reserved just in case, and they were able to tetris it all into one locker with room to spare. I was impressed at their ability to fit it all, while still keeping everything safe and secure. That move was 2.5 hours total. The second move went equally smooth. They unloaded it all and repacked as quickly as expected. At the new house, they ran the boxes and furniture by me and asked what room each should go to. With big furniture pieces they had me direct them within the room how they should be positioned. It exceeded my expectations. This move was also 2.5 hours. We had used Matt's Moving in the past, and this double move experience confirmed they are your best choice in moving companies!

Matt's Moving made my move a breeze! The movers showed up promptly at their scheduled time and completed the move in the estimated amount of time. They were professional and efficient moving my furniture and belongings out of a second floor apartment and into my new home. The company was prompt in getting back to me with a quote and scheduling information and answered all of my questions along the way. There were no surprises in my interaction and I'm incredibly grateful for that! Don't hesitate to consider these guys your number 1 option for movers in the Rochester area!

Top notch Rochester MN moving company! My neighbor recently got a job in Rochester so he moved from the Twin Cities to Rochester. All of us in the neighborhood helped him pack up his things when Matt's Moving truck showed up. I asked him why he picked a Rochester MN moving company instead of a St Paul moving company. He said his original plan was to use a St Paul company but his new boss in Rochester recommended Matt's, so he called them. Turns out Matt's was cheaper than the Twin Cities moving company. And, they were so careful with my neighbor's stuff. I watched them wrap the furniture in moving blankets, and carefully stack the boxes on the truck. I was so impressed with the care they took -- and how polite they were -- that I asked if they only moved to/from Rochester. Turns out they'll come up to the Cities to move people as well. So I put their number in my phone for when I move. Then it occurred to me that I should share my experience in case anyone else in the St Paul area is looking for a great moving company!
