Came here to get wheel bearing and hub taken out and put in, very knowledgeable more worried about me getting on road safely than how much I'm spending didn't feel any pressure for work that wasn't needed and pricing was extremely reasonable, I will go here for any and all repairs/help I need as long as this business is here. I DO RECOMMEND

Went in for a wheel bearing fix with an estimate of $216, they looked at what was “wrong” and told me my brakes were hung up and nothing was wrong with the bearings. I went ahead with that $600 fix only to find out it was still the bearings that were shot (wheel wobbling and absolutely NO MOVEMENT IN DRIVE. I loved the pre entry price, but post-fix cost more in the end. I do not recommend this shop if you don’t know much about your car and leaving this message as help in the future.

I had brought my 2008 Kia Sedona Van to this shop. I was told by multiple people that the prices are low, and they will get your car fix, so you will be back on the road in no time. The only part that is true is the prices are low. I Brought my van to their shop on Sunday November 10th, 2019 in the evening, and dropped my keys into their drop box, as they are closed on Sundays. I wanted to make sure to get my van in first thing Monday morning. On Monday I called their shop, and left a message, asking if they were able to tell me what was wrong with my van. I also call on Tuesday and left a message. It wasn’t until afternoon on Tuesday or Wednesday when they called me back. They told me It needed a new timing chain and an oil pan gasket. He quoted me $1550.00 for the parts and labor. I told him I will have to talk with my husband, then get back to them. I did some research on how much these parts and labor would cost, and I found anywhere from $2141 - $2682 on average just for the timing belt. After talking with my husband, I called Kerns Auto Repair the same day, to let them know they can begin working on my van. He told me it may be a few days to get the parts in, & he has a few other vehicles they are finishing up. He said it won’t be done until the end of next week. I received a call earlier the following week from the shop asking me to come down to the shop. My husband and I stopped in and Joseph (mechanic/owner) showed us some metal shavings from the timing belt and commented on the engine has given him a little bit of a challenge. He also mentioned I was lucky to bring the van in when I did, as the chain was about ready to break. He also stated that he would not be able to complete the work by the end of the week, and he was thinking it would not be done until mid-late week, the following week. He could not give us a time or day. On Tuesday November 19th, 2019 I received another call from the shop at around 5 pm. This time they asked if I wanted to replace the water pump since it too is broken, and since he is already in the engine, he would only charge me for the part, and not the labor. He said it would be an additional $100.00. I agreed to replace the water pump. On November 26th around 5pm, my cousin and I stopped by the shop to get an update when the van will be done, since Thanksgiving is in a couple of days. He said, it should be done before the holiday, and said the van sounds good. He even asked if we wanted to hear it. We declined his offer, as we just wanted an update and had to go. On November 27th, 2019 I received a call from the shop stating my van is done. At 10:54 am I paid by credit card $1650.36 and received my keys. I drove the van back to work. After work I headed home to pick up the kids and husband so we may get groceries for our Thanksgiving dinner. On the way to the store my van, began to stall, chug, and die at stop lights. I immediately called the shop and left a message that my van is not fixed, and the problems are still going on. Told them I’m on my way back to the shop as my van is not fixed. Few moment later, they called back and said they will check into what the problem may be. He asked if there is the same noise as before, I told him no, & that the car just chugs and dies. He said it may be a cooling coil but would not be able to check without diagnosing the engine. When I got to the shop the other mechanic (Jeremy) took my keys and said he will try to diagnose it right away, tomorrow (Thanksgiving) even though they are closed. He said he will give me a call to let me know. I never received a call until December 4th, 2019, and that call was to tell me that my van is done, and that the timing chain was off a link which caused the van to stall. I went to the shop to get my van; they had my van hooked up to a battery charger. They did not charge me, as it was a part they replaced. On Saturday January 4th, 2020 my alternator went out. I had my vehicle towed to a different mechanic who was able to work on the van over the weekend, and I have been to this mechanic in the past. Th

So to begin with, I called twice before I went to the shop to ask if they could look at my car, which they said yes. I get my car towed up there and they tell me they won't be able to look at it until the next day. (Mind you, I live in WI and had to be to work the next night). However, they got my car done pretty early in the morning. As I was driving home, maybe 3 hours to go, I notice my hood flopping up and down so I pull over to push it shut and my engine just stops running, the check engine light comes back on, and starts doing the same exact thing it was doing when I got it towed to Kerns. So I end up stranded in the middle of no where and they knew I lived in WI, so I just don't understand. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!!
