I reached out to this agency as I needed help with a person I work with as a social service agency. They advertise that they work hard to help. The person that I referred was told they would charge her $2000 for a simple move. One bedroom. That is astronomical. I will never refer to this agency again. I then reached out to other non profit agencies in the area that had used this service and found out they no longer do charity moves as they do not need to. They charge, but have lost their original mission to help others in need but still advertise as this. I then found a group of students from UMR that were so able and willing to help, did not ask for a payment and really wanted to help our community members. 10 students offered their time as they wanted to help!! NO cost! Be very careful when you reach out, explore other options. For a community member that is a recipient of SSDI and is on a limited income, this agency lists themselves as a faith based entity to help.
They asked my person for a $800 down payment and this is her literal payment from SSDI. These individuals that they target do not have any extra. I am very disappointed! I as a non-profit whom serves the individuals in the community whom are low income would not use them. I today put out this message. Be careful!
I was told that this was the original mission of this agency and talked with the originator. Then it changed as they were being sought out and started profiting. My contacts in the non-profit realm state it is not this way any more and many quit using them. My person is on SSDI and on a limited budget it is not affordable. I did my research. I talked with the owner and was impressed in the beginning, but as we know, money talks. They seem to have strayed from their faith mission to a point where it is now. We know this happens with faith based organizations. I caution all.
Be vigilant, and question the owner....Jonah. Their mission changed from faith to profit in my experience.

We hired this team to move our furniture in our new place , unload boxes into garage and set up our sleep number beds.
They did great with the first two jobs …. But not setting up the beds… did not know how to set them up!
I would not recommend this company.

Despite an inperson estimate our bill ended up being $663-$1000 (depending on the high/ low estimate) over. And the two largest pieces in the house we donated to the movers, who came back later for the items.

A Smooth Move has helped us to move our manufacturing business twice now and they were wonderful to work with on both occasions! They not only helped to move all of our equipment from our old space to our new space but they also helped us to get all of our equipment where we needed them to be in our new space for our production team to be able to start right up again! We appreciate their team's time and effort for taking care of our needs and we definitely would use A Smooth Move again if we were to move again!

We have used the services of A Smooth Move twice in the past year--to move a family member from home to assisted living, and then a few months later to remove the contents of the house and get it clean and ready for sale. This was a cherished home that held 70+ years of items and memories. While the whole process has been an emotional one, we all agree that it has 'almost been enjoyable' thanks in large part to A Smooth Move. All of the staff we worked with were professional, responsive, and showed care to our entire family. We couldn't be happier with the process, and we highly, highly recommend A Smooth Move.

Its been a year since they helped us move from Rochester back to Canada. Looking back, I would say they deserve the 5 star rating. I can still recall the various visits they made to assess our household goods. Those visits were really helpful and assuring. On the day of, they had plenty of qualified individuals to do the move, 6 for moving and 4 for packing of our household goods. It felt like we were Hollywood Stars watching pack and move our stuff. It was definitely a smooth move. No real concerns that day. Thank you!!!

We had a very positive experience using A Smooth Move as our movers. The fact they put up with my millimeter rug positioning says it all ?. On a serious note, by the time they finished the job, our new home looked fabulous. Their patience while positioning our furniture to our liking was also fabulous. The movers are really hard workers and showed much care in our personal belongings. Also, the initial quote was almost exactly what the final price was. I would highly recommend them for any move. Thank you for a job well done and the smoothest move we’ve ever experienced. Three thumbs up. ???

The process from start to finish was very professionally managed with a focus on more than just logistics of packing and moving with a personal touch of support for the stress and emotions involved with downsizing and dispositioning personal items that are no longer used.
