“Wacky, thorough, and always guaranteed to make you marvel at their selection. I went here a lot as a kid for plane and car models, and continue to shop for various specialty items, gifts, and the sheer novelty. I have gotten board games, puzzles, die cast Ferraris, sandpaper, model rocket parts, and much more. Also really enjoy bringing my father-in-law, as he is a model train enthusiast - Hub Hobby is paradise for him.”

“This is the best fossil and rock store ever! Why? Because you can sign up to take lapidary classes in the shop in the back and learn how to cut and polish stones like agate and much more. The classes are well run with instruction on cutting, grinding and polishing, and they make it very accessible to the beginner.”
“Perfect place to shop for the unusual. Whenever I'm in the area I hit all three stores. I've bought gear motors, relays, switches, capacitors, and lots of other parts for my projects. Thomas Edison would have loved this place.
I even bought a 50 pound bale of shredded money to use as packing for my pen business. You never know what you're going to find there. Need a drop tank for a fighter jet? They had one many years ago.”
“I had a neglected pen at home and cleaned it with rubbing alcohol. Ink would not flow. The very nice young man at recycler advised me to never use rubbing alcohol again. He cleaned the nib with ultrasound and recommended better ink cartridge. I now have a restored perfectly working pen that I need to treat with greater respect. The helper (owner's son) could not have been nicer. Great customer service. I think his fingers are permanently stained with ink smudges”
“Fan HQ is a great store. They host autograph signings, most of which are paid, but they also sometimes have free signings (they just hosted a free event with Louie Varland from the Twins). This place is the most reliable one around to host autograph signings and also functions day-to-day as a sports memorabilia and apparel store. Staff is really friendly and welcoming, and the owner Shawn is very personable. They have some Fan HQ exclusive items, such as T-shirts and limited signed and numbered memorabilia. I hope this place stays open forever, as chances to meet local (and sometimes National) athletes is really fun.”
“Knowledgeable staff and lots of variety.Went in to browse and found a couple fun nerdy games. Also didn't know Arkham Horror was a 1-4 player game and that there is a card game version!”
“This is the art supply store for all professionals and wannabes, (like me). And the employees are all great to work with.I’m not sure if they have to be artists to work there but they know their merchandise and will walk you to what you’re looking for if you ask.I’d give it five stars but their prices are premium, (I’m in a fixed income), . You do get what you pay for, (price vs. quality is a direct proportion), and sales are great.”

“Best craft store there is! The biggest selection of crafts in every category. I've never gone there without finding exactly what I needed! They also have a lot of nice home storage and decor things. The staff is always friendly, and the shopping ambiance is so relaxing and fun. I leave there feeling happy and excited to work on my latest craft project.”

“Probably my fave card shop in the metro. It's very cozy and welcoming. Huge variety of everything. I especially like the sit down area where you have plenty of elbow room to go through stuff, without feeling pressed to buy something or rush through the process. They are also very reasonable in negotiating prices of used items.”
“Had the nicest experience at this location today. Was looking for an item that was not on the shelf and one of the employees (Kennedy) went in the back and grabbed the items i was looking for. This is above and beyond good service and this employee along with a few others seemed very kind and couldn't of been nicer. “I believe that Bill is as kind and honest as they come. My dad bought coins from him for years, and I can see why. He made selling a special collection a fun and educational experience and paid incredibly fair prices. When I got quotes from other dealers, they took an unimpressed tone, I suppose to try to buy at a lower price. Bill was different immediately because he was genuinely thrilled to see the coins. He got me involved in developing the price estimates, something I’ve always wanted to know how to do, and was completely transparent about his offer. Wandering around his shop is an experience in and of itself. My husband said, “There are so many things in here I never thought I’d see in my life.” There are a lot more details of the kindness Bill showed than I can include in this review, but I can’t say enough about the integrity of this business.”
“Running errands around Eden Prairie and stopped by this Michael's to look for a frame. I had the print with me as I wasn't sure of the best way to display it (a papyrus print from Egypt). There were a few options that would have worked, and then I spotted the *perfect* frame! So happy to spend $35 rather than a couple hundred on custom framing. This location has self-checkout lanes, which I didn't have any problems with. The gal at the regular register was standing by and thoughtfully offered me a larger bag for my frame.”

“I can find everything I need in this store and it doesn't necessarily need to be for crafting. I've found leather glue for repairing a purse, different markers for marking on fabric and metal. Michael's has it all. Plus they usually have a coupon off at the register! I highly recommend this store!!”
