The service is good but they must get a lot of shoplifters because the energy of them monitoring everyone is palpable and really dampens the shopping experience. They approach you to put things behind the counter as soon as you pick it up, and when I asked to look at the wallets they wouldn't let me look at them without acting like I was trying to steal one right in front of their eyes! I agree with others that the items are a little overpriced for the quality that you get. Many things are not very functional. It could be better, especially with the energy of the people working there and their attitude about their customers.

A must! I recommend leaving the kids behind and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful pieces from around the world. Staff was so pleasant and I left with some unique gifts for others and some treasures for myself! Already looking forward to coming back.

Went here a couple of years ago and still thinking about it. Got a pair of pants from here that were the most flattering pants I’ve ever owned but I wore them so much they got holes in them. I wish global village had a website I could order from because I don’t know when I’ll be back in the area. Very unique find!

I have a hard time finding shops that are both authentic but out of the box. This place is great for gifts of all kinds. They have clothes, jewelry, kids trinkets, purses/wallets, cards, tapestries, incense, art, even nice chopstick + plate sets.Truly a unique place!

I stoped by this shop (8/4/22) while on vacation with my family looking for sustainable and long lasting rings. When walking in I did not feel welcome however I found the rings I was looking for and started browsing. I waited for about 10 minuets before I was helped which was fine because I found what was looking for. The person who helped me made me feel uncomfortable by misgendering me and acting condescending throughout the entire process. To top it all of as I was looking at rings the worker accused me of stealing as I was still looking! I was fuming at this point; offended and embarrassed by the rude worker. If you are looking for a welcoming and local fair trade market this is not the place. I would not recommend this shop to anyone who wants to enjoy their shopping experience and be treated with respect. If you're in the Duluth area there are many shops which in which the employees are kind and helpful which I would recommend over Global Village. Have a good day! Thanks for reading my review. I adore Global Village. Duluth would be completely and utterly miserable without Global Village. Beautiful, high quality wares for fairly low prices. I am very big on sustainable, earth friendly fashion and Global Village offers high quality clothing with an accessible price tag. Their jewelry is stunning, I have a ring I bought from them about 10 years ago that is just as gorgeous as the day I bought it. They have a huge selection of incense and tapestries, wall hangings, home decor, and some awesome oils. Even if you only visit for the ambiance, it’s well worth it. The staff and owner, Rachel, are very welcoming, kind, knowledgeable, and nice.My favorite place in Northern MN.
