I have been going to Memory Lane for over 10 years for all of my auto repairs. Rick and Tom have always been there for me and my 3 daughters whenever we need help with our car repairs. I’m so thankful to have mechanics that I trust to do an excellent job and not price gouge. I always recommend Rick to all my friends and will continue to. He is knowledgeable, personable, trustworthy, and a skilled mechanic. Highly recommend!

I took my car to a Tuffy Center to find out what code(s) were coming up after the car was stalling out and they said the 2nd cylinder was misfiring. I spoke with an old friend Rick and he asked me to bring my car to Memory Lane Auto at 48813 West Rd so he could see what he could do. Rick told me to drop off the car and that he did not have a car for me to use because they were all being used by other customers. I need to have the car fixed because I take my daughter who is a cancer patient at Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor to her chemotherapy and radiation treatments daily . Rick checked out the car this past weekend and said that the number 2 cylinder was dead and that the motor would need to be rebuilt. Rick said "the rings are shot in that cylinder", "we normally charge $4000 to rebuild an engine with all new parts and giving it a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty."
Rick said " I will cover all the labor for free. I will give it the same warranty as I would anyone else. Parts are around a thousand dollars. If you decide to do this I would need it on a Friday evening and it would be back to you by Sunday evening of that same week." I asked Rick if I could continue to drive for now? Rick said "yes". I let Rick know that I need to figure out how to get the money now because I'm not working and my daughter needs to get to Ann Arbor daily for treatments.
I was able to raise the money within a week for the parts through a Go Fund Me and tried contacting Rick back. Rick blocked my number and will not return my calls or messages now. I found out today that Rick only works after hours at Memory Lane Auto at 48813 West Rd by the owner. What is sad is that I've known Rick over 20+ years and Rick reached out to us through our Go Fund Me account to help a cancer patient.
Beware who you talk and work with at this location.

I've had nothing but problems with my camaro since getting it back. It went in for a new motor and now a month after getting it back I've put more than $600 into it because they claim they aren't responsible for it. Including a new starter even though it had a new one put on 3 months before going to them. Now it's misfiring and I'm told they won't cover it. I wish I never took my car here.

Drove a few hours down ( All the way from Luzerne) to get a new motor for my Traverse. (This was over a year ago but it's still running strong!)

They helped me replace my 2010 Chevy Equinox 2.4L motor. Quick and great job with 12 month warranty. Awesome shop. I used AAA 200mile towing to bring and pickup. Definitely want to use them again for my Chevy Avalanche engine rebuild in futureService: Engine repair

I traveled from lapeer to wixom to have the engine Rebuilt in my 2010 equinox. Had it done in a week and blew everyone elses price out of the water by about $1500. Great guy would highly reccomend him to anyone. Wel worth the long travel for service.Service: Auto engine tuning
