Do not go to this location. The actual armpit of all lifetimes. You'd think if their gym was outdated and run down that they'd make up for it in customer service / relations. I witnessed before even checking in the front desk team verbally attacking an older woman in front of me with her two grand children in an unprofessional tone and delivery of message. I ignored it and waited for my turn then I had the same exact experience if not worse .. I ended up walking out and missed a class because of Ann Marie in which I drove 50 minutes from Ann Arbor to attend the class since I didn't want to be penalized with a late cancellation/ no show. After paying the higher fees in Rochester now I know why ppl say stay away from troy. It's a disgrace and less quality than a planet fitness with poor leadership and management - Doug is unprofessional, reactive and hyper argumentative with no sense of conflict resolution .

I joined lifetime about 8 years ago. I was so scared to leave my babe in the child care. [ I even cried the 1st few times- I was a 1st time mom that never left her babybean]Taylor Wade was so kind and understanding.. she calmed my nerves and assured me she will personally make sure my littles were safe! She did just that!! She is amazing with my kids and ALL the kids.Since then, I have gone to other LTF's kids academy, and I can say TROY is one of the best. The staff goes above and beyond... it's very organized, unlike some of the other club. TROYS ACADEMY is our top favorite! My kids throw a fit when we go to other clubs. One thing that stands out the most is the way they handle the kids' misbehaving at the busiest times (and obviously not busy times). Very calm yet firm and still loving.Nothing makes me smile more when I see the staff deal with a hurt child. Again, showing so much love and care.Doug, Rena ,Taylor Facca, Hana, Bianca and Katherine are all amazing! LTF TROY is so lucky to have a wonderful staff. One thing is I wish the hours were longer on weekends!I wanted to rave about the summer camp. Again, leaving my kids all day freaked me out. They did a great job and made my work day run so smoothly, knowing my kids were well cared for.Front desk is always friendly. Jordan is so personable. Great asset to lifetime! The locker room is well maintained! Unfortunately, there are SOO many pig members, but I think the staff does a good job keeping up! Sue [ I think that's her name] is a hard worker.Towel desk employees are always smiling and welcoming! Same as cafe..Upstairs is always clean and maintained. I am a signature memeber, and I really enjoy the classes. Gerald, Marcus, Hilary, Kelly and Erin are great teachers!! I never go to regular classes anymore.Although, I miss Jessie!! He was a great GM. It's very sad to see he is gone!I believe promoting Doug as the new GM was a great move!! He is always present around the club. I feel he will do amazing things for the gym's future!

My experience at Lifetime Aquatics at Troy has been very disappointing. This place has proven to be a complete waste of time and money. they don't respect their customers' time, they fail to stick with the swimming lesson schedules they provide, they constantly change swimming trainers, and their Aquatic supervisor is rude and disrespectful. To make matters worse, the management's failure to follow through on their promises has left me feeling completely ignored and undervalued as a customer. I would strongly advise anyone considering this facility to look elsewhere for their kids aquatic fitness needs. If I could rate this place with less than 1 star, I wouldn't hesitate to do so.

This place is terrible for people who want to play basketball, all summer I have to deal with the kids taking up the entire court space and when that’s over and the kids are gone they want to hold a meeting on the pickle ball court to conduct interviews and then shut down the basketball court which is located right by it. Why in the heck do you have to use a pickle ball court as a interview room when they have plenty of offices and a conference room that they can use, I feel like a second class citizen when I pay $150 a month and they say I can’t use the court for such a trivial reason, a joke health club much better off spending your money elsewhere stay away!!!

The Fact that Lifetime Troy closes at 11pm on Friday and even earlier on Saturday and Sunday is frankly unacceptable.Friday is a weekday not the weekend. It’s a workday, most of your members work Monday through Friday, it makes sense for many of them to work out after work!Going from 24 hours to 12am daily was the first step they took to steal from their members and now are continuing the stealing by cutting those hours down even further. All the other Lifetime locations open until 12 AM Monday through Friday.Mind you they used to be a 24 hour gym when I signed up. They used the excuse of the pandemic to severely reduce the hours I can use what I pay for (24 hours)By the way I didn't get a discount for the shortened hours! There is no reason why Troy closes at 11pm.For anyone reading this who doesn't know ....Lifetime Fitness is not justified in the rates they are charging for membership. The inconveniences they have caused their membersis unacceptable. For example when I became a member Lifetime had amenities included in the cost of membership now they are taking those amenities away and replacing them with services that are not included and must be paid for above and beyond your monthly membership fee.I no longer recommend membership at Lifetime.Life Time TroyMonday 4 AM–12 AMTuesday 4 AM–12 AMWednesday 4 AM–12 AMThursday 4 AM–12 AMFriday 4 AM–11 PMSaturday6 AM–10 PMSunday 6 AM–10 PMLife Time RochesterMonday 4 AM–12 AMTuesday 4 AM–12 AMWednesday 4 AM–12 AMThursday 4 AM–12 AMFriday 4 AM–12 AMSaturday 5 AM–11 PMSunday 5 AM–11 PMLife Time Shelby TownshipMonday 4 AM–12 AMTuesday 4 AM–12 AMWednesday 4 AM–12 AMThursday 4 AM–12 AMFriday 4 AM–12 AMSaturday 6 AM–9 PMSunday 6 AM–9 PMLife Time Commerce TownshipMonday 4 AM–12 AMTuesday4 AM–12 AMWednesday 4 AM–12 AMThursday 4 AM–12 AMFriday 4 AM–12 AMSaturday 6 AM–10 PMSunday 6 AM–10 PM

Staff is very friendly and gym is kept fairly clean. Crowded, infant care is only from 5-7p, which is the same time they run majority of their group classes. So when parents have the opportunity to come and want to use a squat rack, you will likely get kicked off of your equipment so a class can use it. Also, you pay extra for your child's membership, but if you don't "reserve" a spot for them prior to 3:30 pm they will most likely turn you away. Why do I pay $250 for my family to come if I can't just show up during the limited hours? Major flaw of this gym

I will only write about Life Spa. I had my hair cut at Life Spa and I am now in deep sorrow. Her name is Amy. She didn't take my order seriously, and I've never seen such a rough hairdresser. Without thinking, she cut off her hair by more than 3 inches. I think my husband was much more polite and cut better. I don't want the money back, I want my precious hair back. Too sad. Don't be new victim of life spa.

Over priced for Not being 24/7 anymore, you only have access to one gym you used to get access to all in any location. It’s changed for the worse. The other amenities aren’t even worth it anymore as parents have allow their children to turn them into playgrounds and zoos. Not even an escape anymore it’s a stress room. I’m cancelling my member and just using one of the cheaper gyms. I miss the 24/7 gym; the events of 2020 really ruined everything let’s be real. They really should lower the prices $129 for a gym that’s not 24/7 but has a pool? I can pay way less at la fitness and they have a pool and aren’t 24/7 either. Or I can get a membership to anytime and go 24/7 or planet fitness or crunch are 24 hours during the week. Don’t get me started on the number of complaints I used to file about the childcare stuff involving treatment towards the children in their care. Don’t waste your money here.

Nice facility, BUT save your money!I’ve been coming here for 6 years now and this has easily been the lowest quality the gyms ever been. Save your money and go elsewhere. All the reasons why I joined the gym in the first place are no longer there, basketball courts are VERY rarely open as on numerous occasions they are taken up by children birthday parties/events or pickle ball. The club is no longer 24/7 and you will find that there is a lack of workout machines yet the membership prices have climbed significantly higher to over $100/person. Even the cleanliness of the bathrooms is VERY low. On top of that their app or site doesn’t mention anything about closing doors at 9:30 pm so when I drove over to get a quick run in at the treadmill I was told to leave. An absolute waste of time to drive all the way there and be told to rudely leave. The 2 star rating is fair because it does offer a sauna, steam room and quality workout equipment however all these things stated above are more than true as you will see in many of the comments below.

This place is constantly a disaster. There are about two-three employees that actually keep the upstairs clean (the early morning people) otherwise it’s a disaster in the gym. The weekend employees aren’t friendly and don’t ever clean the upstairs gym part. We pay a lot of money for this membership and it’s a shame that management allows their employees to put in such minimal effort. Especially when the weekend workers just hangout outside the locker rooms chatting the entire time when there’s a lot of work upstairs that could be done to keep this gym as neat and welcoming that it is on weekday mornings.

For the first time in all my years of going to lifetime we weren't rudely thrown off the basketball court by an unruly employee. The lady who runs Pickle ball, Tokiko, was very nice and allowed us to finish our games and worked with us to ensure that we played our allotted time on Saturday morning. We older guys look forward to our one day of basketball and Tokiko made sure we enjoyed ourselves. Thanks again! Hopefully going forward Lifetime can make surw that the 8-11am slot on Saturday morning isn't taken away for some other reason!

I loved this place at first but the shine has worn off. I agree with other reviews here that people sit on machines on their phones not working out. Lots of high school gym bros after school. I try to register for classes on the app but half the time I'm told the registration window is closed but to date, no one can tell me what the registration window is.What's really disappointing is that LT is in the process of updating the cardio space, which means for the past two months the cardio options are cut in half, but not my membership fees. There's no timeline on when the new machines are coming, so I try to go on off-peak times just to be able to get a machine. I'm definitely going to look into other gym options in the area.

I love this gym! The environ's are super nice, there is a ton of equipment, pickleball here is really fun, their hot tubs / steam showers are great, and there is plenty of parking. They even have a place to grab a bite to eat if you need a pick-me-up

It doesn't have the feel of a high end luxury club. It feels more like a hangout for high school students after school. I've repeatedly seen members throwing weights, making loud piercing noises, slamming weights on machines, and there's never any staff around to say or do anything about it, despite there being signs on the wall clearly stating not to drop/throw weights. Many people are found sitting on machines playing with their smartphones, not letting others work in with them. It wouldn't be hard for administration to reinforce courteous and respectful gym etiquette.
