We made an absolute last minute reservation here at the end of the season! I'm so happy we did too! As others have mentioned the view and setting are spectacular! I can definitely see having a wedding here! We were greeted by the owners and the remaining staff, ALL OF THEM were so accommodating and friendly! The goat cheese pizza with caramelized onions was delicious! ? The room we stayed in, thanks for the upgrade, ? was spotless, which is ALWAYS my biggest concern when traveling! We are planning a girls weekend here next year for sure!! Thanks for the memories!❤️

First things first. Perfect setting, perfect location, extraordinary facility for enjoying the views, easily accessed from the highway, close to Suttons Bay and easy drive to other area attractions. Now, with regard to the facility, the rooms were very clean, the hotel was very clean, the restaurant, bar, outdoor seating area, patio, lawn, beach access all were immaculate. The facility is a bit dated. The coffee maker in the room could be improved by updating to a Keurig. The microwave was showing age, and the room would benefit from more lamp light rather than ceiling fixtures. The menu was limited when we were here due to it, being the end of the season, the first week of October. But this is maybe the most beautiful setting, and the best place to stay to get all of the benefits of being close to activities, with an extraordinary beach front lawn, outdoor seating, and for second floor customers, a large upstairs deck with Adirondack chairs. We are fairly discriminating travelers. Overall, I would highly recommend this. Steve and Pam the owners couldn’t have been nicer.Rooms: The rooms are very clean. That’s of course the most important thing. Beyond that, they are dated, not as brightly lit perhaps as they could be with some additional lamp light. Coffee maker was old-school hotel, and ours was not cleaned at all. But not a problem, will hot water in a paper towel, and it was good to go. The furniture and the beds show age, but the bed was comfortable, and the furniture adequate for the limited time that you spend in a hotel room. Other than the older decor, it was as good as any other hotel room even with a higher price.Nearby activities: Of course, Suttons Bay is a quiet little town for coffee, shopping, dining, and just getting away from it all. Just a few miles away is Leland, and Fishcamp on the western coast of the peninsula. Up the road a little bit is North Port lighthouse, and all along the drive are wineries, orchards, farm stands, and just a delightful way to see the best that Michigan has to offer. Bicycle rentals in Suttons Bay. Take advantage of old railroad right of ways which a are converted into safe pedestrian/bicycle trails.Food & drinks: The bar area is quaint, very French/Mediterranean feel, the menu was limited due to it, being the end of the season, but looking at the equipment, and what the kitchen can do, I think in season stays would probably enjoy a much larger selection and high-quality food.Noteworthy details: Truly, a gorgeous setting. The property is to die for.

My wife and I pulled into the parking lot on a whim, and we're so glad that we did! What a gem this place is! We rented the Lakeside Suite (room 3). It was exceptionally clean and so cozy. Loved the rustic nature. We ordered a pizza for dinner, the deep dish carnivore. It was by far the BEST meal we had on our entire trip. Our hostess, Pam was absolutely phenomenal. Pam makes everything from scratch and it shows. The love and care that Pam puts into everything shines through. We ended our evening with a bonfire, which made the evening even better. Pam and her husband, made this impromptu stop feel like a vacation in and of itself. We were treated like we were a part of their family! If you are in the Suttons Bay area I HIGHLY recommend the Vineyard Inn. You will not be disappointed!

Stopped in for a glass of wine. I think this place is struggling for help. Being short staffed didn't make for very friendly service from one of the owners. He just seemed exhausted.BEAUTIFUL property, as it sits on a slow ascending, grassy hill leading down to the lake. Would be incredible for a weekend stay. If they can get more help, this would be perfect for a retreat, banquet, and wedding. STUNNING view of the lake. The atmosphere was phenomenal.Noteworthy details: The view, seating, and atmosphere are well worth the visit. Incredibly romantic.

Beautiful location, room was a little more rustic than we were expecting but perfectly clean. There was a refrigerator in the room but BYO ice if you need that.

We visited in July and decided for a change in scenery from the Leland area. Last year we stayed at the Whaleback Inn in Leland and let’s just say these two do not compare. the Vineyard Inn, the rooms are older, not clean, moldy, and the blinds barely close. The have a “new” cleaning person (that was the excuse) but it goes way past the person cleaning the rooms. As mentioned in other reviews, the location is prime but the location and the upkeep do not match. The restaurant was closed ,supposedly due to staffing shortages which I do not doubt, but still a bummer.
We booked for 3 nights mid week and there were very few at the inn. Our 2nd day my son had a medical emergency and we had to head back home 3 hours away. We tried to find the owner for 15 minutes and anyone else we could but NO ONE was around. This was approximately 11:15 in the morning. We wanted to let her know we had to leave. Instead we had to send a text . She said she would not credit us as we didn’t let her know before noon. We tried but as I said she was not around. I do not blame her for not crediting us (although trust me, there were plenty of open rooms) and each person can decide their own business practices.
We called the next week to see if we could come back up and maybe have the one night credited back to us as well as staying an additional night and paying. Once again, I don’t fault the owner for saying no, but also know that they could use the business and what good business practices are. To say she was not very understanding is accurate. To say she could have been more understanding is accurate. To say we really wanted to enjoy our vacation is accurate. And to say we won’t be staying there again is accurate. It is too bad, it has potential but for the reasons stated above along with a lack of empathy will keep this inn the way it is. Bummer.

We had a very nice time at The Vineyard Inn. The owner, Pam, was very attentive during our check in. She was going to be away from the desk and even called me to see how far away we were. Since we were close, she waited for us to get there.
The Inn was not full mid week so Pam delightfully upgraded our room to a suite. While the accommodations are not new and shiny, they were clean and comfortable. There was a microwave and mini fridge in the room. Our room had a deck outside with a lovely view of the lake. The owner alerted us that there would be fresh muffins from a local bakery and coffee available in the mornings. They were delicious!!
There is a sandy beach that we took advantage of, Since it was midweek, there were only 2 other people on the beach. It was like our own private spot. The water was beautifully clear. Such a relaxing place to be.
My only 2 negatives were the restaurant wasn’t open when we were there (lack of staffing) and it’s older (but we didn’t mind that).
Tips:
1) you don’t need to bring chairs. There are plenty of wicker chairs and a few lounge chairs on the beach.
2) you NEED water shoes / sandals. The beaches here are rocky.
3) I brought my own beach towels.
4) Suttons Bay is a cute town to walk around. Restaurants a little pricey ($18-$20 for hamburger and fries meal) but the food was good and it is a resort town.
5) The Vineyard Inn restaurant is only open on weekends so we always had to leave to get a meal,
6) But you could get a cocktail any time during the day or evening as the owners were prepared to make a drink for you.
We had a lovely time overall! So peaceful, beautiful, and relaxing.

I've been here a lot over the years and this visit was really great! Our sever was David and he suggested our wine and pizza and they were fantastic, pizza was a tad pricey but we were full after a few slices and had more to take home so not complaining. Swings at the bar and an amazing beach view. Loved the whole visit.

Cute Inn at a beautiful location. The website can use an update but the Inn itself was great! Owner was also super helpful when I called with questions etc.We stayed in one of the suites during Memorial Day weekend. The room was clean with cute decor and I loved the view we had from our room.Great location if you want to get some swimming in at the beach or spend the day touring nearby wineries.Bistro has just opened for the season and is worth a visit even if not staying at the Inn.Owners were friendly and super helpful with making local recommendations. The first night we were there they gave us a fire starter kit and we enjoyed a bonfire in one of the multiple fire pit areas on/by the beach.Highly encourage you to look into staying here and support this cute small business!

While not modern, our room was spacious and clean. Only a 4 minute bike ride from the start of the TART trail, and right on Suttons Bay, making it a great stay for anyone feeling adventurous. The owners were kind and let us keep our kayaks on the beach. The outdoor space is large and well maintained with plenty of seating. The front gardens have lavender, making the whole place smell amazing. We didn’t eat at the bistro but we did get a drink and enjoyed the mellow jazz that played throughout the lawn. We are already looking forward to coming back.
