If your company uses NYL for injured workers please beware. I had a cuff repaired so I'm out of work for 5 months. During my certification the intake receptionist didn't input or check the necessary information needed to attach a payment to my claim so now I can't pay my mortgage on time, it took 3 weeks to catch up one check. Then my direct deposit was not entered so checks got lost in the mail again no funds going into my account. Because of the time-lapse my pay stop waiting on my doc appointment for approval. The case manager has not looked at my file in 3 wks to reissue the lost check or to restart my case. I can't pay my bills and I can't work I'm loosing ? ? ? ? ? ? ?my home because of a human error or a non complying worker and the supervisor don't want to take the calls.??????????????

The customer service representatives are always polite and helpful.The company itself is terrible. I had to spend at least 10 hours a week being the ‘middle man’ between this company and my hospital/physicians after having to go on short term disability from an MVA.Even when I downloaded all the paperwork they needed myself onto the online portal I had to call them multiple times a week to remind them the information they needed was there so they would do their job (process the paperwork they required). This company does no true work in terms of their clients/the patients’ disability process. If you are not willing or unable to do all the footwork for them (the equivalent of a part-time job) I suggest you work with one of the many other insurance companies, none of which could be any worse at customer service than NYL.

This office gets a big zero from me. Horrible manager. He is intimidated by my height! He is short and fat. Not my problem. We do not talk about the issues interview or relative information. No. He tells people including the investigator and the corporate office that i lack communication skills. I have a masters degree in leadership. He does not. After a year i get a federal investigator to call me last week about this nonsense. He says he knows nothing he was told to investigate and come up with a decision. He did. Not interested! Nothing wrong with the insurance company. Rich people have this one. They claim Oprah has it. Nothing against the company its the Southfield office that's the problem.

This company is horrible don’t get sick and have them as disability they never pay you and if they do then they cancel the check with out you knowing and will take it from your bank!!! I work for advent health and I wish I never had surgery I have waited 6 weeks for a payment and no one in customer service will help!!!! Annemarie
