Brought my 2008 Nissan Pathfinder in for an exhaust repair. I knew the exhaust was rotted and needed to be replaced but was unsure of the extent. I was very happy with the service and fairness I received from Steve and the team at Midas. They let me drop my vehicle off early evening for a next day early inspection. They were quick to diagnose, order parts, and fix me up quickly. Additionally, I was out of town on vacation for the holiday and they were very accommodating in allowing me to leave my vehicle there until I returned. THANK YOU for the great service

DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE IF IT NEEDS ANY ENGINE REPAIR.After returning from a weeklong vacation, the engine in our vehicle started running rough, with a blinking check engine light (I later learned that this is due to engines cylinders that are misfiring). After reading the positive reviews on here about the team at Midas and how thorough the team was, decided to bring the vehicle up there to get an honest assessment of what was wrong. They quickly performed a leakdown test and told me that the engine is my vehicle was not repairable due to the significant loss of engine pressure and quoted me nearly $7,000 to replace my factory engine with less than 100K with a USED engine. After obtaining all of the diagnostic codes and values, I started doing my own research and speaking to other automotive-savvy folks that I know. They were shocked that Midas did not perform a compression test on the engine, which as I've learned is the more critical test to perform. In addition, the diagnostic codes from the vehicle indicated that the engine was repairable and did not need to be fully replaced.I declined the engine replacement quote and took the vehicle to another shop for a more thorough evaluation. The engine only needed a few minor repairs to the ignition coils, gaskets, and spark plugs, which in total was a fraction of the cost quoted by Midas. Those repairs were done and vehicle has been running smoothly since getting it back a few days ago.The lesson here is to ALWAYS get a second opinion and do your own independent research. While I had to pay Midas close to $300 for their less than thorough diagnosis of my vehicle, at least I did not sink close to 7 grand to replace a engine that still has a lot of life left! While this shop may do other work well, I will not be bringing my current or future vehicles here!

Steve and his team are wonderful. They do not overcharge customers and come up with affordable solutions for auto repairs. This site even has loaner vehicles when they are available, I’ve had auto work done by them for many years as has my family.

About a month ago I did the overnight drop off service after my alternator died. Steve and Ken the technician were very honest and kind about all the problems with my jeep. They didn’t talk down to me as a woman which I really appreciated. Very honest and helpful individuals. If I lived closer I would go to them for service all the time!

We've been using this Midas for more than 20 years. Recently there have been changes in the mechanics. We took our car in at the beginning of the summer and had some work done on the brakes. The car was having the same symptoms after the job was done. When we took it back they tested it and said they couldn't find anything wrong with the brakes but that there was a code saying something was wrong with the all-wheel drive. We took it to the dealership as the car was under warranty and discovered that all four breaks on the car were shot and the brake rotors were extremely unevenly worn. We will never take our car back to this Midas again!

The dealer said my Subaru Crosstrek needed a new muffler. It was loud upon acceleration. Midas took a look and made a minor adjustment. A new muffler was not needed at all. Thank you Kevin.

I frequently use and refer people to this Midas. I find them to be very honest and never have problems with anything after being fixed. They even work on my 1965 El Camino. I find their pricing to be fair. With that being said labor and part cost have went way up since Covid . Car repairs are just getting more expensive everywhere. This is why I appreciate this Midas for their honesty , fair pricing and reliable work. Thanks Steve , Kevin and gang!Services: Auto tire replacement

I took my Durango in to this shop for the 2nd (and now last) time yesterday. I vaguely recall being unhappy with the 1st visit, but it was over a year ago, and I needed new brakes now. Being on Woodward near 14 Mile already, I dropped in and got a quote of around $400 for a single rear rotor & pads. I was told the brake pads were covered under warranty.I returned to the shop shortly after arranging transportation home and left them the vehicle. They called me hours later saying I needed a new caliper & brake hose. Total on bill $700. I literally told the Manager Steve, "I feel like a hostage. I but need my car back, so I'm forced to say go ahead."Today I go to get the car, and the bill is now $750. So, I asked Steve the Manager if he can do anything for me on the bill being I'm a repeat customer and dealing with crushing medical expenses. To the man's credit, he did reduce the bill... oddly, the same cost as a set of warrantied brake pads. Normally, I would just lick my wounds, knowing I will never go back, pay the bill and move on with life. But something was sitting right with me. I began asking about the used parts being returned to me, and that's when I got an earful of BS. He told me they don't give the used parts back because they are "returned." I specifically asked if the value of the Core Exchange on the caliper was "figured in his calculus?" His eyes glazed over & some BS about they don't get a core exchange credit. Go into any auto parts store and buy a reman caliper. With a core exchange, you'll save about 40%.OK, I know this type of character... I deal with them all the time in my own business, from the other side of the counter. I paid the asking... er... demanding price and left expeditiously. And left my cell phone on the counter.I get to my next destination when I realize the phone is gone. I search the car and definitely no phone. I call my cell phone and it rings several times before going to voice mail. 1/2 hour later I call the phone again and it went immediately to VM, meaning the phone was turned off. I go back to the shop, and pretty much as I expected, was told they found no phone. I asked Steve to ask his mechanics, and as I peeked around in the shop door, I see them snickering. And, I just cannot believe the elderly man in the lobby at the time took my phone.I cannot place the lost phone on Midas Mufflers, Royal Oak, but the price I paid was outrageous.
