The only thing "signature" about this place is location. No 15lb dumbbells, the 20s are always missing, and the rest are never where they should be. Two of the three rowing machines are broken, the crossover cable machine is in need of maintenance, and there's always a scattering of other broken machines-- not to mention that most of the handles for the cable machines are gross and falling apart. Corporate needs to step in at SOME point... Right?Oh right, and I used to get towels from other signature clubs, but this one barred me, saying I didn't have the right membership for it and needed to pay extra. The towels are also falling apart, only reason I used their towels was out of convenience. I'd rather use mine than pay extra for threadbare towels from 96

Wanted to try this location because their website is offering 7 day guest pass. I got the pass and came here and the front guy told me I have to come in before 8 pm to use guest pass. Came the next day at 7 pm and was told by the same lady that they are not doing guest pass. In order to do it, I would have to make an appointment ahead of time and go through an interview process or something. So wasted 2 days of my time just to tell me they don’t take guest passes unless you’re willing to go through a Fortune 500 company hiring process to use their gym. What a terrible location. Stay away!! Childish talking about girls I just wanna go and work out but he started talking about Latinos and white and black girls I felt like he was trying to sale us some thing Else very sad ???

The. WORST. Gym.The manager "Rob" is shady. I mean, shady AF. When I first signed my paperwork for the membership, somehow my card info was used to sign me up for training sessions that I never asked for. Appearantly this is common practice as told to me by former sales person John Sche. (Incomplete last name per his request) All this after having to haggle about rates that are advertised but not available anymore. I was eventually offered the rate I knew to be available but ended up paying in full to avoid any other errors in paperwork. The facility is so poorly maintained that you constantly have this feeling that you've been swindled by the most expensive gym around. Incomplete dumbbell set. Missing handles on cable machines. I would say HALF of the equipment is unusable and scheduled for maintenance.Great location though!!I've been a loyal L.A. Fitness member for almost 20 years in several different states and most facilities are great. THIS facility just makes you feel like you're getting screwed over in just about every way.

if you are looking for a place to take your money and run, sign up for this gym. right before the pandemic i signed up, like i signed up then the gyms closed the same week or the following, and had a personal trainer, they billed me twice, over $200 each time. then out right revokes and cancels all my training visits. why would i pay for something that i never saw once and didn't know who said person is. if you are looking for a cheap gym go to planet, if you want a pool go to the YMCA, at least they keep everything clean at the YMCA. this place is a joke.

This location is very active and very fun in terms of work out environment. I got a day pass and ended up keeping it after being instructed and guided through my initial visit. These guys are eager and ready to help.r Rob was particularly my favorite person to rely on. I'm glad I got to experience this gym.

So this LA fitness facility offer swim lessons for children. Frequently children vomit or poop in the pool and the pool is then closed for several days as they shock the water. I don't know how effective shocking the water is, but I am personally shocked that this is happening.

The staff are fantastic! Always friendly and accommodating! But, I’m here to work out. All ofthe machines and equipment and weights are outdated besides the cable cross and exercise bikes. I went to the one in Birmingham due to the power outage, and it was like a completely different gym. I’m going to continue to go to the Ferndale location, but I’m hoping they do some much needed updates soon!

I really wanted to like this location as its 5 minutes from my house and my boyfriend already has a membership. I came in for a week trial (my boyfriend got a flyer at this location 6 months ago and gave it to me) and the manager Rob was extremely rude to him on the phone when he called. We went to the Aqua fitness class and enjoyed it but all the equipment looked super old and in need of a major upgrade. We talked to another sales employee after class who told us the locatio

I love ? coming to this location for my morning workout ?! One of their cleanest, most friendly staff members ! Although, I have never had a bD experience with any of their locations, hands down to their Royal Oak location!

Rob is fantastic. Finds you all the best deals. Signed my whole family up.

I enjoy my workouts at the Royal Oak club. The only problem I have is they are not stressing that all members wipe down their machines after use. The Delta variant is rapidly spreading and many members and staff are at risk. It takes extra work for myself to clean every machine when members can work together to keep the variant out of our fitness club to avoid an outbreak and possible closure. Should there be a mask mandate for members due to Delta?????????

Frequently broken cardio equipment (only abut 1/2 of the stair steppers are ever working at a given time). Not sure where they went but there are no 15 pound dumbbells and the dumbbells increase by 5 lbs versus 2.5 (like other locations). Staff is nice but in general the gym needs some updating for the price.

I scheduled a tour today to see about a membership for my family of four. The reception was very nice and the gym overall looked clean. However, the man who gave me my tour (Rob) was unpleasant, condescending and just straight up rude. I wanted to know about the pool because that is my main source of exercise and where I would be spending my time in the gym. Because it was only two lanes and this particular gym hosts a kids swim class that occupies one full lane various times in the week, I was concerned that one lane would get crowded. He shooed off my questions about it while laughing and said “so what do you want to do. I asked to see the kids club because I have two girls and me and my partner would be working out. He walked me to the kids club door and did not come in. So I asked the woman who was working the room about the cleanliness and COVID protocols. First, there was ONE adult in the room with at least 10 kids of various ages. She was very nice but said she only cleans the room at the end of her shift and that just isn’t good enough for me. Finally I walked back out to see my “tour guide” talking to someone else so I just got on the elevator and left. I will not be spending my money here nor would I suggest anyone else to.

Hasn't had a pair of 15lb dumbbells in over 2 years, management's excuse is that their on backorder. Not for 2 years they're not. No one here has heard of re-racking their weights. No idea why this location is "Signature" when every single downriver location is 10x cleaner and better, and charges less because not "Signature". Smells specifically like blunts all the time. But how can you argue the convenience of this location...just about the only thing it has going for it.
