I wish I could give- No stars. For the second time (my bad for going back) they didn't have the car I requested. Not to mention I received the call regarding NO CAR the day of my rental. Which they know leaves very little choice. But DO NOT WORRY they take that payment! I got some old car, radio didn't work with the first one, and the second- the car was filthy. Spend 20 more dollars and go elsewhere. A complete joke.EDIT:Those are kind words, but people really just want what you offer. Not to mention, I literally just hung up w your customer service for a refund that I was told had already been issued... you guys need to get it together.ERIN

Inappropriate and unmotivated behavior. Cancelled my reservation after the staff gave us a very hard time trying to get our rental. Will take my money elsewhere.

Please take your business to another location!!!!! They are HORRIBLE!!! The attention to detail is non existent and more importantly the staff has no sense of urgency! That is likely because they are being “managed “ by an individual who does not understand what it means to lead. While I never take the time to report individuals and file formal complaints the visit I had today warranted just that. The corporate office accommodated me to a satisfactory level, however from the excessive wait time to them trying to force me into and electric vehicle (despite what my contract said) and the managers lack of leadership, please don’t waste your time at this location. There are several others in the area that understand efficiency.

This has to be the worst place to rent a car in the area. I was waiting in line for 2 HOURS to pick up a car and not one employee apologized to anyone standing waiting. Absolutely ridiculous. This makes an airport location look like a breeze. Go to Enterprise in Troy. Way better. The employees here are miserable and angry and treat the customers like they are doing them a huge favor by renting their overpriced cars. Avoid at all costs.

Had to wait 20 minutes before an employee bothered to show up. Additionally i was charged an extra 40 dollars even though i already prepaid the majority of the cost and was guaranteed a rate. I will not be using hertz as my car rental company anytime soon. The alternative companies are far better

I called this location and explained to the m a nager how someone claiming to be a hertz employee making reservation had scammed me. I gave him all th we info and the bogus reservation number I was giving. I has tried my two local locations Ferndale and royal oak and Noone answered the phone. So I called the customer service number when this lady came on the line. Anyway, Michael the manager at Royal Oak stated he would check into it and call me back that day. I called the next day twice to be told by someone name samaj that he was out. He would call me back. Call 3.hours later he was still ot trying to get cars for 32 ccutomers I was told. When I expressed my disappointment I was told he was busy and will call. A week no response. I'VE been a gold member for over 20 years. I see how they operate. No type of caring for their members issues. Thank God for the customer relations number who pulled my case number and gave me some promising outcome. I am done with this location. They used to be the best gold service for their clients years ago. I'll go somewhere else. By the way I'm a senior.

Awful, i had confirmed received confirmation that they had a car the day before. When i came in the day of, the women said she didnt have any cars for me and wont till 4 hours past the needed time. They would not pick their phones before, so i had no idea it was not available.

STAY FAR AWAY!!!! I reserved a Medium Sedan(C) Mazda 3 4-door or similar when I got there, they said they didn't have any cars and were upgrading me to a Chevy Traxx which was a compact SUV that was, in fact, cheaper than what I was paying for the Medium Sedan I reserved. NOTE: If I wanted an SUV, I would have reserved an SUV. Having taken off from work, hotel room booked, and ready to get on the road, I said ok. They mentioned I could wait another 30-45 mins for a car to come in. Go to the vehicle (I see a car right beside it), get in and drive, and there are loud noises coming from the rear of the vehicle. I go back in since I didn't want to chance to get on the highway to drive 4 hours away with a vehicle in that condition. They then switched me to a car (remember they said they didn't have any). This car was a Honda Accord. Perfect, I thought. Get in this vehicle and it wouldn't start because it needed to be charged. Guess what it's an EV and on top of that the tire pressure light was on, and the car was dirty. If I wanted an EV I would have booked an EV. No tutorial was provided...nothing. Just handed the key. At this point, I go back in and cancel. No longer feeling comfortable with renting any type of car from Hertz and add to it that I'm now almost 2 hours at this location trying to get a vehicle, and that's 2 hours I could have been driving and en route to my destination. 2 cars I was now given that weren't ready. Terrible customer experience. Because of this, I'm out of the cost of my hotel, using time off at work to not go anywhere, and the biggest thing was unable to visit my friend in the hospital. I booked this vehicle for 1 day. What a shame Hertz caused the day to be like this. Terrible experience!!!! I repeat...stay far away from this place. The manager is unhelpful, not friendly, and down right rude.

Rented a midsize vehicle, drove 4 miles and dashboard displayed “Return to Dealership, Maintenance Required” returned vehicle next morning, drove total of 11 miles. Will not refund charge for renting a faulty vehicle.Do not waste your time at Hertz, unless you want to be ripped off. Bad business practices performed here.

What an abysmal experience. I was first given a car with about an 1/8" of tread and an issue with the brakes on one side. When I went back in I was told that's all they have and I should take it and then call roadside to see if they can find me another car. WHAT? I was then told I would have to pay an additional $100 to get another vehicle because that is all they had. When I explained to her that I was driving into the U.P. with a bunch of snow expected she just rolled her eyes at me. The car I wound up paying extra for was left without washer fluid, the USB was broken so I could not plug my phone in, and the tank wasn't fool. Save yourself a trip, some money, and your time and avoid this place like the plague. The cars are not safe, the help is brutal, and the pricing is ridiculous. Never again here.

Customer is 1, not helpful and they are lazy, gave me a rental that was just cleaned, hey didn't even dry it off(had to ask him), still only dried some of the windowsCar is 3, was damaged and was not informed, had to say something to them(they like oh we know) who wants to pay over $600 for a rental that's damagedTold me they were gonna me about another rental, never didI have rented from Hertz several times, but I wouldn't never come back to this location

Very bad experience, if I could give a 0 rating, I would. Paid extra to get the car for today, but when I arrived, they said they didn’t have one to give me, even though I paid the insurance. Staff aren’t helpful at all. We’re paying money to get a good result, but my first bad experience came from them.

I had a bad experience with a trainee, Hertz really need to step up and make the people that they hire accountable for mistakes that they make or create for paying customers, Realize without customers you have no jobs! Also train them on communication and customer service so many mistakes that can be avoided, also beware and check all transactions before allowing them to swipe your CC alot of things are going on that shouldn't be just Google all the recent complaints! Also it seems the Covid protocols are being overlooked to many ppl still aren't getting clean cars and beware of damages, make sure to take your own pictures before leaving lot! Not sure what's going on with this but it's a huge problem
