This Physician was constantly decreasing prescriptions I have been on for years in an attempt to get me to come in multiple times probably to increase their billing. The staff is incompetent and the facility is sub par.

Really love that your front desk people took their HIPPA training but they shouldnt be trying to discuss/ give their opinions on medical issues or medications with your patients. Now they will be reported to hippa. They arent doctors PAs or nurses. The person who answered the phone was trying to discuss mental health/ prescriptions with me instead of passing the message to the DOCTOR. 0 knowledge of me or my situation at 1 point yelled at me/ continued to speak over me when I was giving her a NOTE to pass. Ive needed more of my script the last two months bc the pharmacy is allowed to switch manufacturers whenever they want and I haven't been able to see the doc to update script. The receptionist was trying to discuss this with me, scolding me as if I did something wrong. I just said, hand the note to the doctor.. she kept going.

Dr. Helen Ostro-Brown is THE BEST family practice doctor in the metropolitan Detroit area!I’ve been here for 20 yrs now I been with Dr. Ostro-Brown for about 10 of those years. She is VERY CARING and THOROUGH!I will NOT go to other doctor because she is that good!I referred many people to her because she cares! As for the new staff, they are horrible!I am disappointed this new group of people!I stood here waiting to be checked out and the staff at the desk said nothing. They acted as though I wasn’t standing there.Another patient walked up and a staff member acknowledged her and ignored me.The old staff were the best! I don’t what kind people these new folks are.

Went in despite the low rating and bad reviews, hoping that my experience would be different. Do not go here, they are not professional. The wait wasn't too bad when I arrived for my appointment. I was called into a room after my vitals were taken. Three different people came in to ask me the reason for my visit, with the third person being the doctor; all asked the same questions. The doctor wanted to do some blood work, so I asked how much it would cost as I was paying out of pocket. It took them 25 minutes to tell me how much it would cost because the ladies were running around playing tag, engaging in small talk with each other and trying to figure out that the word 'hepatic' refers to the liver. Once I agreed to let them draw blood, it took another 15 minutes for the phlebotomist to find the correct test on her computer. Blood samples were taken and I checked out, paying for the office visit. I was told to call back in two to three business days for the results. I have left several messages for several weeks but never get a call back. Whenever I call during business hours, the answering machine says they are closed or out for lunch if calling between 12 and 1 pm. I've now received the bill from the lab who did my blood work but can't get the results from the doctor who ordered it. You get better service from the cable company.

Dr. Ostro-Brown has been my primary physician for a decade. She is very thorough snd caring. She takes all the time necessary to explore any issues you may have and all her referrals for specialists have been excellent. I highly recommend her!

Waiting for renewals of *multiple* prescriptions for three weeks for senior patient. Instructing senior patient they can no longer drive but unwilling to fill out form and submit to SOS on behalf of family to have license revoked. Unhelpful with an type of elder care issues, only wishes to see patient happy happy blow-through appointments and not actually deal with any type of real long-term care issues that require more than a few minutes of an appointment. Would advise this is not a good fit for elderly patients. (Note that I have cared for elderly family members with dementia for 13 years, so this is not a new issue. What is different, however, is this doctor is completely unhelpful and unsupportive in any type of capacity whatsoever.)

Would steer clear of this office, I found it to be unorganized and unprofessional. Everyone was criticizing each other. The doctor is far more interested in your personal life and upfront explaining of her shortcomings than your medical issues. The doctor ran blood work, after three attempts to call and get results, I finally gave up and moved on to a new doctor. I found the entire experience incredibly frustrating.

Dr. Ostro-Brown is possibly the best doctor I've ever had. She takes time to listen, doesn't judge, and has a great sense of humor (which is great because I make jokes when I don't feel good). She answers all my questions, even about things unrelated to the current visit, and her staff is friendly and efficient. I would refer anyone to her practice because good doctors can be difficult to find.

Unprofessional and not caring about this patient:I'm husband of Patient. My wife's been having an issue with her arm since December. As of today, she still has unexplainable pains and only for a month or so issue with blood pressure. Dr. Helen Ostro-Brown today took my wife in as a follow up to her blood pressure. Not to get into too much detail...the visit ended in a tragic manner. My wife, after the doctor wanted to give her higher blood pressure medication, asked if it would be ok to wait a few more days to see if the current dose would work. This started her very negative reaction, accusing her of "arguing"...when she only asked if she could wait a few days before taking the higher dose. This started a very un-easy moment where the doctor argued and wanted to just walk away from the visit without listening to my wife's symptoms. The doctor said that she didn't want to hear about her symptoms...that since she's with the Neurologist, that specialist will take care of her...problem is that the neurologist has no idea what the issue could be after many, many tests...so my wife asked if maybe it could be arthritis...Doctor told my wife that It's a free country, she can go wherever she wants, this is the United States of America and she's free to go anywhere. My wife came back home crying...the front desk witnessed her crying and saying that she won't pay for visit. The doctor said that since she took her blood pressure, she'll have to pay. Amazing that a professional of general practice would behave in such a manner...My family has been going to this office for more than 15 years...I guess it's good we've been healthy without real health issues...true colors show when real issues arise.

Terrible doctor. Do not even bother!!!! The office is unorganized, and Dr. Brown is the laziest doctor around.... do yourself a favor, and do research on good doctors in your area... she is extremely rude, not patient and will not run any tests on you unless you ask her too...

I have been coming to Dr. Ostro-Brown for several years. She is literally the best primary care doctor I could imagine. I have had a lot of health issues that other specialty doctors did not believe (even with proof) because they were rare complications and she believed me. She kept ordering the tests, listening to me cry, calling to check in and eventually she helped me get it diagnosed. Never once did she make me feel like I was exaggerating or making it up. I brag about her and thank her endlessly for her dedication to treating me as a person, not just a file. Her skills and care can not be matched and I am forever grateful that she's been my doctor and at my side when I needed someone like her.

Dr. Brown was a very lazy doctor. She did a physical- took blood, and did not run test for cholesterol, blood sugar, etc. She did a gyno exam pap smear, she did not test me for diseases, HIV etc. I had to ask for these things to be done!! I was in hospital with CHF- she would not return my call to speak with her on my situation when I got out of hospital. When I expressed to her that I was changing doctors because she is unprofessional- she agreed we were not a good match. Then she basically started saying I never smile, I'm always serious. I do not go to the doctor to joke and play with them? I thought it may be a race issue the reason she was so rude to me.
