Seems like this guy/place is a covid denier and kind of pushy with his yoga style too. Sounds really healthy!

I have dabbled with different yoga styles and practices for the past 7 years and I had never felt that internal shift that so many yoga practitioners espouse. That instant connection to the practice. I finally found what I was looking for at DY. This past year I set the intention to incorporate daily yoga practice into my life to facilitate recovery (7.5 years since my last drink). My focus was finding balance; but what I needed to cultivate, was discipline. I started with Yoga apps and videos in April of 2021 and felt a gravitational pull towards Ashtanga. I did some research on yoga studios near me and by June had scheduled my first session at Detroit Yoga and I could not be more grateful for this studio or the teacher, Jason. The atmosphere is calm and the studio is impeccably clean. Jason is incredibly professional and delivers instructions with a calm and simple manner. In the past 2 months I have felt that internal shift, but it’s not quite what I was expecting. I don’t find that I am constantly basking in a state of loving kindness because of this practice( as YouTube would have me believe) - but I am noticing my attention drawn to what IS arising more honestly. Let go of your expectations and make your way to Detroit Yoga to start building your practice.

Today was my third day at the Detroit Yoga in Royal Oak. My very first encounter was pleasant. Jason made me feel very welcomed. I have never practiced yoga before, this is my first experience. This small yoga studio has such an amazing and peaceful atmosphere. I feel lucky that it’s only 230 ft away from my house. I’ve gone into the studio feeling off but every time I leave I feel a sense of calm and relaxation, today at the end of my practice I actually fell asleep. LolJason has a calm manner, he’s been treating me with respect and care.

DY provides a quiet, disciplined, challenging practice requiring commitment and attention. Jason Schramm is extraordinarily aware, knowledgeable, polite and professional. This practice strips away noise and distraction. While it is available for anyone, it won’t appeal to all.

If you would like actually to learn, be pushed, become a stronger and more thorough yoga practitioner without all of the sugar coating then this is the place for you. If you would like to be babied with the Hansons playing in the background then this is not the place for you. I had been consistently practicing yoga for 3 years before I visited Detroit Yoga. I learned more in one of Detroit Yoga's classes than I learned in those three years. Jason has dedicated his life to the art and lifestyle of yoga you can see it if you "pay attention." He's not there to be your friend he's there to teach you, correct you and watch you grow. Since I've moved to Texas I've taken classes from at least 7 different teachers and noting compares to Jason's classes. I've recently signed up to his online program and it's great! I'm will be going back to my daily 1-2hr practice and I know I will do nothing but improve. It's even better because I've been trying to get my hubby to practice consistently and he wouldn't. He tried Jason's beginners online practice yesterday and woke up wanting practice today. He said it was "hard as hell" but he loved it. Go to Detroit Yoga if you want to learn. Peace, blessings and much love

I have been doing yoga for 15 years. I thought I would try this place and didn't like it at all. The instructor (I think he was the owner) was a j*** even though I explained I had injuries.

Worst Experience Ever!!! This guy does not work well with others!! Depressing Narcissistic Personality! He sits and gives commands to his clients and never demonstrates. I asked; "How do you learn the yoga poses?" He said that you keep coming to classes. So, you come to class and you learn from the other clients. He expect the other clients to do his job and teach the new people, yoga. They do all of his teachings! Because, he is too arrogant to be bother with that.
