I am a Chicago transplant living in St. Louis and have hated this style of pizza… until now. My wife and I were visiting the area and found The Speckled Goat by accident and it could not have been a better one at that. The owners are a lovely couple, the pizza was excellent, and there is plenty of variety for the store. The best St. Louis style pizza is 8.5 hours north, in Onekama, MI.

What a great find. We had the blueberry grilled cheese, and it was divine. The owners were so friendly and accomodating.

The Speckled Goat is a wonderful addition to downtown Onekama! The owners are so friendly and sweet! They have delicious grab-n-go sandwiches along with a decent selection of wine, beer, and snacks (my favorite is the goat cheese ball with cranberries and pecans) - they even have Goldfish packs for the kids. We haven't had a chance to try the pizza unfortunately because they've closed early the couple times we were planning to order (even though we confirmed their hours the day before). They also have a slightly higher price point than you may be expecting. Still, we always make sure to stop when we're in town, whether we need a quick lunch, a beach picnic, a hostess gift, or are just hungry!

Stopped by here for a quick bite to eat with the family! The Speckled Goat is on Portage Lake where they sell local goodies and souvenirs. They also have a cafe style menu. We ordered a pizza, which is very unique for the area because it is St. Louis style where the owners source some of the best ingredients! Definitely recommend making a stop here. This year they are closing for the winter, but I heard wind that next year should be year round!
