Been coming here off and on throughout my life, however the past year has been by far the most frequent, mainly because I didn't like shotguns or shoot clays when I was younger. The sporting clays courses here helped change my opinion, since the courses are frequently adjusted and present realistic scenarios to what you can expect in the field hunting. It's fun hitting the "gimme" shots expected from single thrower, until you realize that's now it works in the field. Immensely improved as a shooter thanks to their courses and my stubborn ego, didn't even know until a friend I go here with frequently mentioned it, and if you challenge yourself to hit all the offerings on the 4 position(ridge?) course you'll improve likewise. If you're looking for niche-tier higher end firearms I can say that they definitely have that in abundance in the shop. Beretta had just discontinued the 486 when I got into shotguns and I'd never seen one "in the wild" until checking here and finding 3-4 of them. Honestly wasn't ecstatic about what it cost but I knew from the first time I shouldered it that I'd be foolish, especially given the current lack of quality SxS guns, to pass on it. They also said they're willing to give an in-house warranty for guns purchased through them, which sealed the deal. If I'm being honest I did feel a bit slighted when, within the next month afterwards, while remembering my face, apparently forgot about the inquiries regarding the 80x Beretta had just launched, since they had apparently taken orders on the launch edition, had at least one purchase fall through, and proceeded to sell said firearm to a close friend one day after we'd finished shooting. I'm likely blowing it out of proportion, and I find the 2-tone brown model uglier than sin compared to the standard all-black, so although I was extremely disappointed at that time, I'm glad it wasn't me now. Just expected different given the large purchase made in close proximity, and inquiring about the model within the week or so prior. It's the past, and unless it turns into a pattern, I wouldn't allege any malady intended. It's a stretch but the only thing I've had go less than fantastic, which is testament towards everything else positive about the facility. They're very down to earth about realities involved and give a 10% mark-down to allow for broken clays or faulty launcher. If you repeatedly attempt to get a launcher to work after 2-3 failures consecutively, well Google the definition of insanity. It's rare that more than 1 specific launcher between both courses acts up, however clays can crack and sometimes you do draw the short straw but it's part of the reality. Generally other shooters spread word when a particular stand is being difficult, so I'd suggest being friendly when doing the rounds, as kindness begets kindness. The fact that you can shoot green-tip etc. equals out any complaints about range price to me. Just come prepared and follow the simple rules, haven't ever had an issue personally. Common sense isn't really common anymore so in short: remove mags when leaving actions open, don't shoot empty expecting them to play "did he fire 6 shots or only 5?" and if for some reason it's not 2nd nature, treat barrels as if they're always loaded, point em up, downrange, at the ground but not in any other direction. This is the best sporting clays course I'm aware of open to general public in the state.

It was my first time attending this range. Bald Mountain has two very nicely laid out sporting clay course offering a wide variety of stations with challenging layouts that will keep any shooter engaged. Bald mountain has the feel of a private shooting club. Everybody working here is very respectful and helpful to anybody that walks in the door. Awesome range and awesome people

My friends and I have a been shooting clays here pretty regularly for about a year. It's become one of my favorite hobbies - in part due to Bald Mountain's fantastic clays offerings and scenic courses. There are two clays courses and a five stand - the courses are nice wooded trails, beautiful in summer and winter, and the clays presentations are changed regularly enough that the experience always feels new. There's a a well appointed shop that sells 12/20ga in addition to eye and ear protection, etc. Shotguns are available to rent for those who aren't bringing their own.

Decent range. But no binary, rapid or bump fire. 3seconds between shots. Basically an outdoor range with indoor rules

It is hard to write this review being that I have been going to this place since they opened. The people who work here are scumbags with the exception of one lady who has been there the whole time. Their machines malfunction quite a bit but when you tell them about it at the desk they act like you are trying to scam them out of free targets. Also have witnessed some incredibly dangerous safety violations at the range. Most employees have a bad attitude. Pat is just trying to scam and skimp his way to some more cash. Shameful.

Was not happy. Paid $18 to get in at 1:30 PM on new years eve. Asked before I paid if I could use my Chrono. By the time I set up I was able to conduct 1 test run then told that I could retrieve my targets and that this was the last set of targets for the day. I wish I would have known before I paid. It stated online that they would be open until dusk. I only needed 1 more hour. I even asked if I could get a rain check to come back for an hour. Nope no forgiveness for miscommunication. Make sure you ask what time they close before you pay. Unsportsman like like conduct!

So I sold a hand gun to establishment which the hand gun wasn't through it's break in recommended rounds 500.I indicated it was in 98% good condition other then being not brand new. So 2 gentleman allegedly gun pros looked at the weapon checked it out so while one gentleman was doing the transfer and sale paper work the other was cutting me a check. So about an hour and half later I get a phone call from mishoot stating there is a problem with the hand gun that the double action didn't work so I stated the weapon was in proper condition last time it was shoot. They tried to claim either I or someone else had to do something to it and it had only been cleaned in-between taking it to gun ranges. So they stopped payment on the check and ended up bounced check and over drafts fees. So the problem i have is that so called 2 professionals looked the weapon over and was ok with it and if there was an issue with it why wasn't it brought up at the time of purchase from me. I did talk to the owner and he just seemed i was at fault and backed his employees.Long story short I ended up with bounced checks and overdraft fees and a DAMAGED WEAPON BACK. P.S. not happy

I've been shooting sporting clays here for years, and both courses are great. Never too crowded even when they are busy. The shop has a nice selection and they're very fair about pricing when you trade in a used firearm. I've used the rifle and pistol range a few times, and I have to commend them for keeping a very safe and orderly environment. This range was my top choice to take my sister for her first time shooting.

Very nice range with reasonable pricing. Used the rifle 100 range lanes and will definitely be back for some clay and archery use.

Honestly, it is a great range and the skeet course is awesome but the range master absolutely ruined it for me. I got there, went to open my gun case and immediately was yelled at for “flashing the barrel” at the range master saying I “could have killed him”. All I had done was take my unloaded gun out of its case. Later he yelled at someone for grabbing a target during target check. He yelled at people saying “I don’t want you here.” Honestly, it is people like this that make first time shooters get nervous and never want to try to learn how to shoot. The range master easily could’ve been calm, cool and collected and taught instead of yelled and berated.

Amazing range, super-friendly and knowledgeable staff, my son and I enjoy every moment when we go there!Update Aug 2022: Will probably still go there but their recent price hike might encourage me explore other local ranges like Pontiac Lake before renewing my membership. I will give Ron (the RO) a LOT of credit (he has always been courteous and helpful to us sighting in several long rifles when we were missing the target even at 25 yds). Will probably still pay as a daily customer as my private trainer (Pete, who is AWESOME) uses the range as his training field...
