Came in today as of October 1st at 2pm thinking I was gonna walk out with a new but used transmission I called and made sure I asked THREE different times how much the transmission would be WITHOUT the core I always call a few times before arriving to thoroughly check the info I was given. The lady gladly repeated $993.00 for just the trans without a core. So I drove 2 hours to go pick it up and by time I get there I’m being told I owe $1,600 without the core. I then got home and proceeded to call back and demand to speak with an owner/manager. Kipp was very nice on the phone but did not clear up anything I had happen I guess it’s on me that his employees told me the wrong price and info. I wouldn’t be so frustrated and leaving this review if I hadn’t already drove 2 hours there and back for NOTHING. But I guess us customers aren’t right anymore and that the management just backs up their employees which is okay cause there’s lot of that these days. Even if the original true price without a core was $1,600 why tell me $993 3 different times after I was more clear than I ever could be. But not only that I do feel as if it was over priced by a mile cause they want $1,600 for a used 6l90e trans with 300k+ miles and I found out afterwards I could get a freshly rebuilt one for only $200 more. That transmission wasn’t even worth the $993 either. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone they just wanna take what money they can.
NOTE: after looking at other reviews it looks like they just sell used broken cores anyways I probably would’ve paid $1,600 for a broken trans. Which also leads me to saying they false advertise cause they lady told me they test them the best they can before going on a shelf, etc.

Cook's auto salvage has a friendly staff. Their used parts are really good so if you need a part for your vehicle they may have it, or get it for you through there other contacts.

I needed a dirver side and passenger side overhead airbags. Called a few other salvage yards, none of them had any. So I tried cooks, they had them and within a few hours had them pulled and ready to be picked up. The facility looked rough from the road but was clean enough in the show room.

Found the trans I needed for my civic on car part said heights in lansing had one. Cannot say more about how awesome they were. Top knotch place. Very respectful and organized ? highly recommend
