This is your typical neighborhood, small party store. My friend and I stopped by in search of some stocking stuffers ahead of the holidays. The single can selection was a little limited, but she found enough to fill some family members' stockings. The wine and liquor selection seemed a bit larger. They also have plenty of snacks, candy, and mixers. The space is pretty cramped and we kept having to move aside for other customers. Overall it's a decent spot to grab something quick. I don't live in the area but if I did, this would likely be my go-to spot if I needed to bring something to a party.

I'm not sure which of the new people working are the actual owners, but there is one guy in particular who insists on touching me everytime I come in. He will cup my hands when he hands me my bag and touched me in the cooler on my waist to " help me" look for beer. I've been going there for 25 years. I'm done.

Refused to take returnables sold there. Under the Michigan Bottle law of 1976, they are required to do so regardless of what their belief or reason is for refusing.

I stopped in a couple days ago for wine and while they had some nice wines, the selection was pretty limited. Today I needed a rye whiskey, orange bitters, a good vermouth and a Pacific NW style IPA. Given my experience with the wine I decided to try Meijers. Boy, what a mistake. So I decided to give Ryan & Harts another try (didn’t want to run all the way out to Total Wine). Was pleasantly to find numerous PNW IPA’s, multiple small batch rye whiskeys, three kinds of orange bitters and 5 kinds of sweet vermouth.

Another neighborhood liquor & beer store in Alger Heights, slightly bigger than the Alger's Quick Stop, which is located right across the street. They have a larger selection of alcohol, beer, and snacks than Alger's Quick Stop. They also have a big beer cooler room full of all kinds of beers, including a really goood selection of local craft beers.
